Chapter 46: Chapter 46: A Heaven Shattered by Void
The Tower of Heaven trembled as the magic in the air thickened—dense, heavy, unnatural.
Jellal lay unconscious at Shinra's feet, who came back to check on him.
His body bruised and cracked, like a broken puppet finally cast down. But then—
*Rip.*
The space above Jellal twisted and folded like paper being torn, and through that seam came a flicker of presence—light blue hair, a sharp expression, and a voice like thunder wrapped in silk.
"I cannot allow this failure to continue."
It was Seigrein. His Thought Projection magic.
Simon, barely conscious and slumped by a ruined pillar, lifted his head weakly. "No... why is he...still not deafeted…"
His thoughts were in shamble.
In a swirl of violent magic, Seigrein's body condensed, streamed like stardust into Jellal's broken form. The body twitched, trembled, and then...
**Boom.**
A shockwave exploded outward, ripping apart the floor tiles and sending shock lines spidering through the walls. Jellal's body arched, eyes flaring open—not red, not blue, but a swirling void of both.
**"Finally... I am whole again."** His voice echoed like two speaking in unison—Jellal and Seigrein, fused into one terrifying force.
Shinra tilted his head. "Ah. That explains the delay. The real boss finally decided to show up."
A pulse of magic surged outward. The walls began to melt into shape, reforming as if the tower itself bowed to Jellal's new power. He hovered slightly above the ground, wrapped in a cloak of dense mana that roared like a storm around him.
"Do you understand now?" Jellal growled, lifting a single hand. "You've been playing with a half-broken toy this entire time. But this…" Magic circles spun into existence behind him, glowing crimson and gold. "This is my true self."
Shinra cracked his knuckles while giving a challenge look.
"So... round two, it is."
---
Jellal vanished—no motion, just a shimmer of reality bending. In the same instant, a streak of light crashed toward Shinra's head.
**CLANG!**
Space warped an inch from Shinra's temple as he raised his hand calmly. Infinity crackled to life in a thin, translucent veil.
"You're faster than before. But still not fast enough."
Jellal backflipped mid-air, twisted his hands, and launched a barrage of *Heavenly Body Magic*—dozens of meteor-like projectiles screaming from the heavens.
Shinra's eyes gleamed blue.
He took a *step*.
Time fractured as his body folded in space and emerged behind Jellal, crouched like a phantom. One finger reached out—
**"Cursed Technique Reversal: Collapse."**
The space around Jellal imploded violently. Walls, wind, light—it all funneled inward, and then detonated in a silent shockwave.
**BOOM.**
Jellal was hurled across the arena like a meteor, smashing through pillars and stone. But he landed upright, coughing, eyes wide.
" What kind of magic, is that!?"
Shinra replied with a smirk, " Not gonna answer."
Jellal raised both arms.
**"Grand Chariot!"**
Seven stars aligned above him, burning like tiny suns. Beams of light rained down, tearing apart everything.
Shinra held out one palm.
**"Infinity Void: Hollow Domain."**
A ripple expanded in all directions. The beams of *Grand Chariot* slowed, fragmented, and finally stopped altogether—frozen like flies in amber.
Jellal's eyes bulged. "You—froze magic itself!?"
Shinra stepped forward through the frozen rain of light, calm as a moonlit lake. "Your magic relies on manipulating the heavens. But the heavens themselves sit still inside my domain. You know why."
He smirked.
" Cuz, Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one"
A soft hum pulsed outward. The magic shattered like glass around Shinra's body.
Jellal gritted his teeth. "Don't mock me!"
With a roar, he unleashed a chain of *Abyss Break*, black lightning crackling through the air.
Shinra dodged by leaning two centimeters to the left.
The beam missed entirely.
"Your aim's off," he murmured.
He flicked a finger.
**"Laplase Blue."**
A twist of energy formed in Shinra's hand—pure reversal of cursed technique, dense as a collapsing star.
He hurled it.
The sphere struck Jellal's barrier—and consumed it.
Then it struck Jellal himself.
The sky above cracked. Reality warped.
The blast sent Jellal plummeting downward, into the very center of the tower's base. A crater the size of a house formed instantly.
Erza and Simon, who have just been rescued were with rest of the team—watching from above—could only hold their ground as the shockwave rippled through the structure.
Natsu stared, slack-jawed. "Wow... he just blast him through the floors."
Gray shook his head. "That wasn't a spell. That was... something else entirely."
Mirajane whispered, "That's Shinra when he stops playing around."
---
From the center of the crater, light gathered. The wind screeched. Rocks floated.
Jellal rose, body steaming, clothes torn.
"You… think you've won?" he snarled.
He lifted both hands.
**"Tower of Heaven—obey your master!"**
The entire tower began glowing. Magic circles swirled into the core.
Shinra blinked. "He's going to accelerate the activation of the R-System…"
Without warning, Jellal flung his arms forward. An enormous beam of magic burst from his palms, the raw energy of compressed Lacrima.
Shinra stepped forward calmly, hand extended.
**"Cursed Technique: Hollow Drift."**
The beam struck him—and vanished.
Gone.
Erased.
Absorbed by nothingness.
Shinra looked up, a rare fire behind his violet eyes.
"That's enough playing for today."
He raised both hands—and suddenly, the entire battlefield darkened.
Jellal stumbled.
"What… is this...?"
**"Domain Expansion,"** Shinra intoned. **"Infinite Void."**
A sphere of pitch-black swallowed them both.
Inside, time stretched and reality trembled.
Jellal floated in place, unable to move, his mind overwhelmed by countless thoughts pouring into his head every second—like reading an infinite library all at once.
He screamed.
Shinra stood calmly in the center, the only still point in a sea of chaos.
"Inside here, your brain is being bombarded with every piece of information in existence. You can't cast. You can't speak. You can't even think."
He walked toward Jellal slowly, each step echoing forever.
"But I'll let you out…"
He raised his hand.
"...after one more."
He touched Jellal's chest.
**" Hollow: Annihilation Pulse."**
The void twisted.
A final explosion of cursed energy detonated and the domain collapsed.
Jellal's body crumpled to the ground, fully unconscious this time—his magic exhausted, his mind broken.
Shinra exhaled and lowered his hand.
The others rushed down the shattered stairs to him. Erza reached Jellal's side, kneeling beside his unconscious form.
"…It's finally over," she whispered.
Natsu clenched his fists. "That guy was tough…"
Gray looked at Shinra with awe. " Man, how powerful are you even?"
Shinra gave a tired smile. "Still weak compared to big world out there."
Happy floated down beside Lucy. "That was soooo flashy."
Lucy, still stunned, whispered, "I think I just witness the power of strongest mage in Fairy tail…"
Mira arms crossed, smirked proudly.
