Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Before the Lightning flash
The sun rose brightly over Magnolia, casting a golden hue across the newly rebuilt Fairy Tail Guild Hall. In true Fairy Tail fashion, the reconstruction hadn't just been restoration—it was a complete transformation. The building now towered with gleaming new woodwork and steel framing, proudly displaying the guild's emblem at the very top. An open-air café wrapped around the front, filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses. Inside, the hall buzzed with activity—guild members swam in the new pool, explored the modest amusement center, and gawked at the suddenly accessible second floor where the most difficult S-Class jobs lay.
In the Guild Hall...
Makarov, standing barely three feet tall but carrying the presence of a giant, entered with his usual pipe in hand. "Listen up, brats!" he boomed.
Everyone quieted immediately.
Makarov cleared his throat. "Before you go messing up this beautiful new hall, I'd like to introduce a new official member of our family."
The door creaked again as Juvia stepped in, modestly dressed in a simpler version of her rain-themed outfit. She looked around shyly, fiddling with her fingers. "Juvia is happy to be here... Juvia won't let you down..."
Lucy pulled her in for a quick side hug. "Welcome to the guild."
Juvia nearly fainted. "Lucy-sama... is too kind...!"
Everyone has a smile on their face after knowing that Juvia finally become a part of Fairy Tail.
"You're the reason she joined, Gray," Happy whispered teasingly.
Makarov nodded. "Glad to see such warm welcomes... because I also have someone else joining."
Everyone turned their heads just as the doors opened again.
Gajeel Redfox walked in.
Silence fell like a blanket of stone.
Even the chatter from the café and amusement area stopped. Gajeel stood tall, arms folded, his piercings glinting under the light, and an unreadable scowl on his face. Seeing him, Levy hesitantly stepped behind a column, visibly shaken.
Lucy's brows furrowed. "That guy..."
"He destroyed our guild," Gray said, coldly.
Gajeel's red eyes scanned the room. "Tch. Didn't come here for your love. I follow orders. Jose told me to destroy your place. That was the job."
Natsu stepped forward, a vein twitching on his forehead. "You've got guts showing your face here."
Erza intervened, her voice stern but calm. "Master... this isn't a good idea."
Makarov raised his hand. "He acted as a soldier for Phantom Lord. It doesn't excuse the past... but I believe people can change. I'll keep my eye on him. But I've chosen to give him a chance."
There was tension in the room, but no one argued further. Natsu, however, continued glaring daggers.
Before things could escalate, the lights dimmed, and soft piano notes filled the hall.
Mirajane, standing on a makeshift stage, held a microphone and smiled. "Now then, let's lighten the mood, shall we?"
Her voice rang sweet and serene through the hall. Guild members slowly began to relax. Cana raised a glass. Max leaned into the music. Even Jet and Droy swayed slightly. Peace began to settle in.
That was until Gajeel accidentally stepped on Natsu's foot.
"Hey, watch it, Iron Lughead!"
"Move your scrawny flame-toes!"
Mirajane's song screeched to a halt as the microphone cut off. In a second, tables were flipped, plates flying. Natsu tackled Gajeel. Gray and Elfman got pulled into the chaos. A stray bottle exploded near Bixlow and Fried. Erza exhaled and pinched the bridge of her nose.
Makarov took one look at the destruction.
Then his body began to glow, rapidly increasing in size until his head scraped the roof. With an immense shout, he slammed his fist on the floor.
"YOU BRATS BETTER REMEMBER THE SORCERER MAGAZINE IS COMING TOMORROW!"
Everyone froze mid-punch or mid-table throw.
"Fix. This. Now."
"Y-Yes, Master!"
In under five minutes, the entire guild looked as pristine as it had before. Mirajane sighed, re-tying her apron. "Some things never change."

That night, as laughter returned and members slowly drifted out, Shinra leaned back against the main entrance of guild. The stars above were sharp and still, the air warm with summer's hold. From outside, he watched Natsu snoring on the table with Happy sprawled over his face, Lucy laughing softly as she tried to pull them apart. Gray was trying to avoid Juvia's not-so-subtle advances while Erza and Mira were chatting over strawberry cake.
Simon, meanwhile, stood near the gate, watching the road fade into Magnolia's shadows.
"Jellal's in custody now," Simon said quietly, approaching Shinra. "We left him with the Council's agents... although after what happened to their headquarters, it's hard to know who's really in charge anymore."
Shinra nodded slowly, not taking his eyes off the stars. "Yeah. The troubles are coming."
Simon tilted his head. "What do you mean?"
Shinra smiled faintly. "Nothing."
Then he said, "Thank you for coming all the way here and updating me, Simon. Since you will be leaving tomorrow, let 's just enjoy tonight."

*Elsewhere…*
From a hidden vantage point on a building's rooftop in Magnolia, a man with spiky blond hair watched the guild from afar. He narrowed his sharp eyes as laughter echoed through the air. Three figures stepped behind him.
"We're ready, everything is prepared." said Evergreen.
Bicslow chuckled, his dolls dancing wildly on his shoulders. "Ready to see what they're made of."
Freed stood with them silently.
Laxus Dreyer's smile was cruel, electric sparks crackling around his fingertips.
"Soon the Harvest Festival will begin," he muttered, "and then we will let Fairy Tail remember who their strongest really is."
