Chapter 3: 3. Daichi power up by demon's obsession
AT THE SAME TIME
DAICHI POINT OF VIEW:
Panic surged through me like wildfire. I twisted, shoved, desperate to break free from Kael's crushing hold. My heart hammered, wild, erratic as my hands clawed at his wrists. And then, suddenly, something stirred inside me, a spark, a warmth, a blinding surge of light bursting from my palms. Golden rays spilled out, pushing Kael back with an invisible force, making him stumble. I stared at my own hands in shock, breath trembling. What was this? Even then, I heard it, an echoing gasp, not from me, but from the heavens. The god's voice cut through the air, laced with disbelief and fury.
"Impossible..."The god's voice echoed, sharp and incredulous. "That demon's kiss… it wasn't meant to strengthen him." A pause, heavy and charged. "The dark touch should corrupt, consume, weaken the false priest, not ignite his light."God said. "This changes everything."
I took a shaky step backward, palms glowing with the strange light still pulsing inside me.
"Stay back!" I shouted, desperation threading through my voice.
I forced the light forward, a burst of energy shooting toward Kael. But it barely fazed him. His dark eyes gleamed, unbothered, as if I had thrown a pebble against a mountain. Panic clawed at me, cold and sharp. My legs trembled. The effort drained me faster than I expected, the light flickered and dimmed. Before I could catch my breath, darkness pulled at my vision. My knees buckled. The world tilted. Then, blackness.
AT THE SAME TIME
KAEL'S POINT OF VIEW:
When Daichi collapsed into nothingness, I caught him effortlessly, cradling his trembling body close. His light magic flickered and died, but it only made him more fragile, more mine to protect... or to break. I tilted his chin up, eyes gleaming with dark amusement.
"Such a stubborn little toy." I murmured, voice thick with possessiveness.
The way his chest rose and fell against me made my hunger flare anew. He thought he could fight me but even now, when he's weak, he belongs to me. And I wasn't about to let him go.
I carried Daichi gently to the small preparation room, laying him down on the cold stone slab like a precious, fragile prize. His chest rose and fell with shallow breaths, eyes fluttering beneath closed lids, caught between fear and exhaustion.
A wicked grin curled at the edge of my lips. This was just the beginning. How to make him mine, not just trapped or scared, but craving me, needing me in every way. I had wear down his walls, chip away his resistance with whispers, touches, and that dark magic I wielded so well. He was a fake priest, yes, but my fake priest and obsession was a game I always won. I leaned down, fingers tracing the line of his jaw softly, dangerously.
"You'll see." I whispered. "There is no escaping me."
I leaned closer to Daichi, voice a low murmur only he could hear.
"You're stronger than they think, little priest. Stronger than that angry god who wants to keep you chained."I whispered.
His lashes fluttered, faintly stirring, and I smiled, a dark, dangerous smile.
"They don't understand you like I do. They want control, but I want you."I whispered.
A sudden crackle filled the air, and the god's voice thundered through the chamber.
"You will not claim what is not yours, demon. Daichi is bound by fate, not by your lustful whims."God said.
I chuckled, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead.
"Fate is a game for mortals. I play by different rules."I said.
"Your obsession will be his undoing." The god's tone was harsh, warning.
I tightened my grip on Daichi's jaw just enough to show my seriousness, yet my eyes glinted with something darker.
"Or maybe." I whispered. "It's the beginning of something neither of us can resist."
My fingers traced slow circles along Daichi's hair, the softness a sharp contrast to the fire burning inside me. He was fragile, more than I expected, but that only made the game sweeter. I glanced around the cold chamber, eyes sharp. He needs more than protection, he needs temptation, comfort, a reason to stay. I moved to the small table, pulling together scraps, a warm cloth, some herbs, a flask of something dark and sweet.
"Can't have my favorite toy shivering, can I?" I muttered, a dark grin curling my lips.
Carefully, I warmed the cloth and dabbed it gently at the corners of Daichi's mouth. He stirred, and I caught his gaze with mine, soft, dangerous.
"Rest now." I whispered. "There's a lot more for you in the future."
I straightened, wings unfurling behind me like a living storm.
"You're protected by god and temple but not forever."I said.
A single beat of my wings sent me into the sky, leaving the ruined temple behind. The air rushed past my face, cold and biting, but I didn't care. My mind was racing. I had to prepare. Back at the castle, the gates groaned open at my approach. The shadows bent in reverence. My servants appeared, cloaked in dust and fear, blinking in surprise as I strode into the hall.
"You." I pointed to a pale, hunched soul near the hearth. "The east wing. Clean it."
The servant gawked.
"But... it's been sealed for ages, my lord."He said.
"Then unseal it."I said.
Another demon crept closer.
"Should we... expect company?"He asked.
I turned, a slow grin spreading across my face.
"Eventually." I said. "But don't rush. He'll come on his own."
I paced the grand corridor, claws clicking on marble. My thoughts returned to that flash of holy power. That burst of defiance. That fire in Daichi's eyes, even when his hands trembled. He wasn't supposed to have that kind of magic yet. He's not ready. But he tried anyway. Against me. The thought made something curl warm and dangerous in my chest.
"This is going to be fun."I whispered in delight. "Little by little you become fullly mine."
