fate/saint?

Chapter 5: Freedom and a brighter future.

When destiny finally reaches the mountain, he immediately starts looking for the Hydra lair

Quickly finding it, he's absolutely shocked by the size.

What the hell is this, like, I knew he would be big, or she is it a he, or is it in it, let's just call it in it, ok, but seriously, I knew it was gonna be big, but this is absurd. It's almost 150 feet long, and I don't even know how high. But it has to at least be same or even double.

Smelling the scent of the gods all over destiny, the Hydra immediately looks over with a fierce glare.

Shit he seen me, oh dear, ok, ok, remember the game plan he slowly began to approach the Hydra. The Hydra had all 5 of its heads bare its fangs at him, but nonetheless he continued to moving forward.

Hey, hey, it's, ok, it's ok, it's me, it's me, I won't hurt you, look at me, I won't hurt you, he says much slower this time.

You can visibly see the Hydras guard dropping slightly, but nonetheless still up, but he stands back understanding that he needs not to go all out. If a fight occurs as simply put, a single claw is enough to kill this man.

Surprisingly, a voice comes out of one of the high dress mouth. It says. Child of fate, what do you desire of me?

Oh, my God, this is literally a fever dream, you can talk, why am I even surprised my teacher was a centaur.

Anyways, I wanted to know, why did you attack the village? There must have been a reason creatures like you obviously have some cognitive ability, and so you don't act rashly for no reason, so why?

Simple. I was promised at home to be free and to roam as I desire something that I practically never could have done in the past, but since the Godess demeter had promised me my freedom now I am merely enjoying it as I please that's why I destroyed that village.

You never had your freedom, why destiny says his voice as genuine as possible, even more genuine than some of the people that took care of the Hydra, in fact, when it was a child.

The Hydra shocked by the boy's voice and concern, he stammers out, I was always seen as an enemy, a potential threat, so I was never free to do as I desired.

That's horrid.

It is, but sadly, faith can be quite cruel.

I see, then I as the saint of fate, I refused this future, I will give you a brighter future, just let me help you, please Hydra.

Why help me I'm a literal abomination, why?

Enraged, destiny says, you are no abomination, you have cognitive, thought you have a heart, you have emotion, you would not be talking to me like this, wanting to be free like this, if you didn't have any of those.

But look at what I've done. I literally hurt, I literally caused pain everywhere I go.

Then let's fix it, I can't make every wrong you make into a right, that's true, but I can set you on a path that can let you be free and do the right thing at the same time.

All 5 of the Hydra's heads gasp in shock, not only because of this child's determination, but also because he feels any underlying feeling of inevitability, as if no matter what happened with this child said would come true.

The Hydra, trusting its instincts as it had in the past, laid down one of its 5 heads, allowing the child to caress it. This was the hydra's final test.

Trust.

With confidence destiny extended his hand and laid it up on the Hydra's head, saying, let this be the day that I, the Saint of fate, declare.you're future will be bright.

As he finishes saying these words, his halo covered in carvings of his goddess cloth weaving the fabric fate, slowly begin to move as it shows her actively weaving fate. Because destiny had changed fate once more.

As we see the golden light dim, a small thread of golden energy leaves the halo and is placed above the Hydra's heads.

Like a phantom halo, it shines, but once Destiny's hand leaves the Hydra's head, the halos disappear.

But neither of them are the same as now they feel a deep connection between them.

Hey, Hydra, what just happened, he says, with a worried and confused look, not knowing what was going on.

I don't know child, all I know is that I feel unwavering trust and as if no matter where you are, you could always call on me and I would appear before you to protect you.

That's exactly what it is, a bond of protection, your Goddess truly does love you.

Well, I said that I would make your future bright, right? Well, come on, let's get going back to the village. Your Path to a brighter future begins there.

He sits on top of the hydrous middle head, ask both of them, begin to calmly and confidently walk back to the village.
