Fate/Water

Chapter 1: River/Death

"Sweet Tiamat banner is here!" I exclaimed, my heart racing with excitement as I walked home after a grueling day at work. At long last, I could claim the Mother of all Milfs, Tiamat.

What is it about her that captivates me? Perhaps her beauty, radiant as the dawn, draws me in. No, it's more than her stunning form. Is it her strength? Strong enough to move mountains, yet that's not the core of my admiration either. What truly enraptures me is her unwavering love for her children. Even when they struggle to recover, she relentlessly offers her affection, pouring her heart into them while neglecting her own needs. That selflessness is what I adore most about her.

"Hah! Why can't they add her husband to the story?" I sighed, lost in thought about how enriching his presence could be to the narrative.

"He could be an incredible caster, wielding his water powers to spray enemies with debilitating debuffs!" I could hardly contain my amusement as I imagined the chaos he could create.

"But seriously, why haven't they?" I wondered aloud, my curiosity piqued. "Why can't they give us a Daddy character who would undoubtedly rake in the cash?"

"Oh wait, he's dead before he could even gain any fame—that's a real shame," I mused, struck by the tragic irony. I realized that the few who become servants often do so by contributing something to humanity, whether their deeds are heroic or villainous.

"The only notable thing he accomplished was giving birth to the gods, and even then, he was betrayed by his own creations," I pondered, reflecting on his lack of impact on humanity.

"So, why did Tiamat become a servant?" I questioned aloud. To my limited understanding, it was because she posed a significant threat to humanity. In the end, this very danger led her to play a pivotal role in humanity's development, which is why she became a servant.

"Or maybe I'm just overthinking it," I chuckled. After all, the majority of the player base is male, which naturally leads to most playable characters being female.

"They had to make a living somehow." They chose to create characters that captivate the male audience, often through their allure.

"Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't part of that audience," I admitted, though my affection lies not in their appearances but in the depth of their characters.

"Let's leave it at that." After my little internal debate, I found myself staring at a small, steel bridge that stretched across the landscape.

"As always, this bridge is sending up red flags." The rusted steel wires appeared as if they were wearing the scars of time, aged to a rusty orange hue. The tiles beneath my feet were loose and rickety; just one wrong step could send me tumbling into the abyss below. Thankfully, the day was calm, with no wind to threaten my balance.

"God, I wish there was another way," I thought, glancing off toward the distant path that was a full 5 km (3 miles) away. The thought of walking that far was less than appealing.

"Forget it, I've crossed this bridge countless times. Let's go!" Finally, I steeled my resolve and took my first step onto the bridge.

"Damn, this bridge is wobbling more than ever!" Each step felt as if I were walking on the back of a giant beast, the metal creaking and swaying beneath me. Just as I prepared to take another careful step, an unexpected gust of wind swept through, catching me off guard.

"What the hell? Where did this wind come from?!" Surprised and thrown off balance, I stumbled, missing my step completely.

"SHIT!" I instinctively reached out to grab the lower parts of the railing, desperately trying to regain my stability.

"Damn it!" My non-dominant hand slipped away, and my dominant hand was now throbbing with pain. I glanced down at the rushing river below, its foamy surface swirling menacingly.

"GLs (Good Life)." With my strength gone and no way to hold on, I finally lost my grip and plunged into the icy depths. My life flashed before my eyes—a collage of memories, both sweet and bitter.

"I couldn't say it was a good life, but it was a life," I whispered, the words echoing in my mind as the water enveloped me, carrying me away into darkness.
