Finding Love in a Strange World

Chapter 3: CONFESSION NIGHT

Time went on and they had spent an hour still drinking, eating, and inviting more people. The place kept getting noisy each passing second, and one story after the other were being shared.

"Hey Hee-mang." one of the Sunbae called out to the drunk fellow.

Hee-mang heard his name but was slow to react.

"Two colored brat." a female sunbae said jokingly in her drunken state.

"Don't call him that." Yoo-na said back, starring daggers at the lady who called him that.

The place went silent for a minute, then a loud chuckle was heard from a senior, then everyone joined in. Everyone knew how protective Yoo-na was of her junior, so they all tried not to mess around with the boy.

Hee-mang finally raised his head, but his eyes were closed

"You called me, Hyung"

Nearly everyone burst out into laughter, cause of how his head was moving all over the place and couldn't remain in one position. But no one did laugh out. Not when they were aware of Yoo-Na's gaze on them all.

"Ha! yes, I did."

The hyung replied while scratching his neck nervously. No longer sure if he should go on with his question. He didn't want to be on Yoo-Na's bad side. While looking at her, her gaze softened, as if she was giving him the go ahead.

"Ha" the hyung breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hee-mang, don't you have any embarrassing story to tell us?" the wide grin on his face made one think he was being mischievous.

Hee-mang pouted his lips, stirred his head to the back, left it in a tilted position, then said

"None."

"Huh! What a spoil fun."

They all heard someone say but could not tell who it was.

"Why? Have you never got turned down by a girl?" the hyung resumed his questioning.

"No" Hee-mang replied half-heartedly. He was not a bit interested in the conversation.

"Whoa!" a lot of them gasped.

"Heh. You are quite the bad boy. Say, how many relationships have you been in?"

"None."

"Hahaha"

The laughter of the student filled the roadside restaurant

"Fucking bastard has a very funny way of answering." a voice said amidst the laughter.

"The idiot means he's never been turned down by a girl cause he's never bothered to be in a relationship." someone else said

"I doubt he can even get a girl to say yes with that ugly looking scar across his face."

The noise finally died down, and this time around, every single one of them was curious as to what the next question would be.

"Ok, ok," the hyung said while laughing "enough. Hee-mang?"

"What?" he was tired of the questions. He just wanted to go home, but something kept pushing him to reply.

"Have you never fallen in love?"

Everyone's ears perked up, all expecting to hear the next answer from the drunk

"I have."

Someone whistled, and that was all. They were all curious as to what would be said next, they wanted no distractions.

"What was the person's take on it?"

"I don't know, I never confessed."

"Boo!" a lot of the listeners said with their thumbs down.

"Why didn't you confess? Not man enough to confess?"

"I don't know. I don't know how she feels about me."

"How are you gonna know if you do not confess?"

 "That's true, you're right."

He suddenly stood up, which caught the attention of them all. He staggered for a while but soon got his balance. He chuckled as he said his thanks to the sunbae repeatedly.

After saying his thanks, he turned to his left, which got people thinking he wanted to say his goodbye to his Unnie who invited him. The enthusiasm they saw in his eyes said it all. He wanted to leave as soon as possible, so as not to miss his chance to confess to the love of his life.

"Yoo-na Unnie, I love you."
