Chapter 943: Narrow Encounter Between Enemies

After the initial little incident, everything went back to normal. Wang Zhen and Xue Kai bombarded Xiaomin with questions, chatting about various things that happened recently, but they tacitly avoided mentioning Yue Feng standing up for Wang Xiaomin and declaring war on Tianyuan.

They stayed at the hospital until past ten, almost eleven, before reluctantly leaving to rest. As for Wang Xiaomin, his acupuncture and physiotherapy sessions were scheduled for the mornings. It was agreed that after the competition starts the day after tomorrow, someone would pick him up every day after his sessions to watch the match onsite.

Early the next morning, Yue Feng was woken up by his biological clock. He planned to exercise early, but upon opening the window, the smog of the metropolis caused his throat to itch and his trachea to feel slightly uncomfortable, so he decided to skip the exercise.

There was nothing planned in the morning, so everyone stayed in their rooms making the final preparations before the competition until after lunch when they all got back in the cars to head to the Olin Fishing Base.

Though the Olin Fishing Base was in Beijing, it was actually quite remote. Looking at the map, it was already past the fifth ring road. Yue Feng's team took more than an hour to reach the Fishing Base, winding through the crowded roads.

Because of the four-star hotel, they had high expectations for the event organizers. However, upon arrival at the Fishing Base, despite being on the outskirts of the capital, the facilities were rather average and at least two tiers below that of the four-star hotel.

The entrance was just a low gatehouse, with some old and run-down prefab houses visible inside. At the farthest point in the view, there was a two-story white building. Not far from it was the competition site, with several different sizes of competition ponds.

"Brother Feng, Uncle Niu, this competition site in the capital doesn't seem that great either! It's not even as nice as the Fishing Base at Hua School!"

Wang Zhen, sitting in the front passenger seat, looked around and couldn't help but complain when he saw the hardware at the venue.

Niu Ben smirked, "Under the emperor's feet, the best place in the land, calling it worth every inch is no exaggeration! No matter how small it seems or how average the construction is, if this land were to be sold, it could fetch a sky-high price! This area should be tens or even hundreds of acres!"

Zhao Zheng chimed in with a complaint, "Though the land is valuable, the construction is really lacking! At least they could've paved the roads better. Look at these potholes, heaven help us if it rains. If it rains hard enough, these small holes could flood, and stepping into one could drown someone!"

As they talked, the car was guided into the parking lot. Remembering the afternoon sign-in, quite a few competition teams had arrived early, many with club or brand names printed on their cars, recognizing quite a few familiar faces.

As the car parked, before anyone got out, Yue Feng cleared his throat.

"I already reminded everyone at the pep rally before we came. I'll remind you again before we get out of the car!

While signing in later, we might encounter people from Tianyuan. No matter the situation, everyone should keep their wits about them. During the competition, there is to be no behavior out of line. Understood?"

"Understood!"

"Good, everyone out!"

After emphasizing the discipline, Yue Feng and Niu Ben led everyone out of the car and headed to the sign-in area.

Along the way, it was clearly noticeable that many teams they passed were casting various glances at Yue Feng's team.

However, most of these glances were no longer purely curious, now containing a trace of respect.

The news of Yue Feng directly confronting Tianyuan Fishing Tackle had spread throughout the Taiwan Fishing circle. Coupled with the rapid development of Yuefeng Fishing Tackle over the past two years, it had unknowingly become a brand and team revered by ordinary fishing tackle brands and their clubs.

"Wearing our fishing club's uniform seems to attract a lot of attention!" Wang Zhen couldn't help but exclaim.

Yue Feng chuckled, "Yes, it does! Achieving such remarkable results in such a short time, if it were another team, they'd also garner a lot of attention!

They notice us because of our strength and achievements, not because you look good or because I'm handsome, although I do look a bit handsome!"

The first part was quite serious and normal, but at the end, Yue Feng couldn't help being a bit narcissistic, which nearly made the team burst into laughter.

"Um, since when did Brother Feng become so thick-skinned? I just noticed!"

"Haha, being handsome is a fact, Brother Feng's looks are the only ones in the country that give me a sense of threat!"

"Damn, Xue Kai, enough already, get out!"

...

The team members chatted and laughed softly as they reached the team sign-in position.

There were quite a few people lined up at the front, and as the team leader, Niu Ben naturally pulled out the team's competition certificates and joined the queue.

As for the other team members, there wasn't much for them to do, just helping with retrieving their competition attire, hats, and souvenirs later.

After waiting about ten minutes, Niu Ben completed the team sign-in and quickly retrieved the relevant competition materials according to the number of team members.

The competition materials were simple: a fishing hat, sunscreen clothing, and a set of fish guards with the sponsor Hua Clan's logo, in addition to the so-called original pond pellet feed handed out to everyone.

"Wang Zhen, Xue Kai, come help me with the stuff!" Niu Ben waved and called out, and the two quickly followed.

Soon, a few people returned carrying the materials.

"Damn, the material of this hat is okay, but the sunscreen clothing is a bit subpar. This mesh fabric isn't even ice silk, it feels rough to the touch, far from our team's uniform, Uncle Niu. Can we not wear it for the competition?" Wang Zhen, who talks the most, couldn't help complaining about the free sunscreen clothing as soon as he got it.

"The competition requires unified attire, uncomfortable as it may be, you have to wear it! Deal with it!" Niu Ben said irritably.

"Damn, the organizers are really unreasonable!" Wang Zhen mumbled, complaining softly.

While grumbling, Wang Zhen's previously indifferent expression suddenly turned sharp.

Not far from them, over a dozen people from two teams of Tianyuan Club, led by Leng Xiaojun and Hu Changsheng, were walking toward them.

"Damn, what a small world!" Wang Zhen spat on the ground, feeling a bit annoyed.

Xue Kai, afraid that he would impulsively do something extreme, instinctively tugged at his shirt.

Soon, the leading Leng Xiaojun approached with his team.

Most people encountering such a large, strong group would instinctively step aside, but Yue Feng's team didn't intend to move at all, and they soon found themselves standing face-to-face in the middle of the path.

At the forefront, Leng Xiaojun's eyes were mainly focused on Yue Feng.
