Fishman in One Piece

Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Red Dragon

"Kill him! ! "

The Marines held no favorable views of Brett.

No one has forgotten the events that transpired that night a few months ago.

Thus, after Hager convened the marines and articulated his proposal, there was scarcely any dissent, and everyone agreed with his suggestion.

Regardless, the responsibility did not lie with them.

Consequently, the Marines surged toward Brett

"Water stomp. "

Brett leapt into the air, utilizing his remarkable jumping prowess to break free from the marines encirclement, landing gently on the crossbeam of the main mast.

He had scarcely established his balance when a dark silhouette ascended into the sky, emitting a dazzling flash of sword light in the atmosphere.

Wheng!

A loud explosion reverberated in the air, propelling Brett upwards.

"What incredible speed. "

Brett rotated in mid-air and landed on the warship's cabin roof. He spread his hands, straightening the chains, revealing a significant gap in one of them.

Had he been struck by that recent attack, he would have undoubtedly sustained injuries, though likely not severe ones.

His defensive skills had only recently been integrated and remained relatively weak, in contrast to Kaido's bloodline, which he had assimilated for several months. Through rigorous training, his strength, defense, and physical endurance had developed rapidly, particularly with regard to his defense.

While it does not imply he can tank rear admiral-level attacks, it can certainly mitigate damage considerably.

Hager descended onto the deck and expressed surprise, "Blocked? "

A few months earlier, this Fishman had been unable to respond to his attack.

Moreover, this power—

"Mr. Borsalino was right. Although he is merely a fish-man, he possesses remarkable talent! "

Hager lifted the long sword, and an invisible current of air began to envelop the blade, subsequently contracting and transforming into a dark substance that traveled up the handle, ultimately enveloping the entire blade in black.

Armament Haki.

'Armament haki? Great, now I can't solely rely on my body for defence, but to think that Kizaru holds me in high regard.'

"Prepare to fire! "

Haggar commanded.

The marines on the deck raised their firearms, with over two hundred weapons aimed at Brett.

Brett recalled that night a few months ago.

As he prepared to flee, he had reached the outer port but was obstructed by Hager and the marines under his command.

It appeared to be an echo of that earlier scenario.

At that time, his only option had been to retreat. Although this ultimately resulted in unexpected advantages, he could not forget his prior failure.

'But what about now?'

Hager had already raised his long sword, a sneer adorning his face.

"Your fate is sealed, disgusting fish-man; no one will come to save you! "

The marines were poised on the trigger, anticipating the Rear Admiral's command.

'Is my defense capable of withstanding the gunfire?'

Brett was uncertain.

Consequently, he leaped up and propelled himself into the air.

'Stupid Fish, leaping into the air without any form of cover and lacking the ability to maneuver freely is clearly suicide.'

Hager scoffed.

"Fire! "

The long black blade was swung down, and all the muskets discharged simultaneously. The lead bullets emerged from the chambers propelled by gunpowder and surged directly towards Brett.

All the bullets combined was like a storm.

Before the sound of gunfire reached Brett's ears, the bullets had already struck him.

And then it happened.

Ding ding ding ding.

A series of sharp sounds resonated in the air.

Brett's body was enveloped in fiery red scales, and all the bullets that struck these scales merely produced sparks before being deflected weakly.

Brett's body was swiftly enlarging, his limbs gaining strength, and he even shattered the handcuffs and shackles after a brief struggle.

His body began to extend, a long tail emerging from behind him, his neck elongating, his mouth and nose protruding, and two pairs of sharp horns sprouting from his forehead.

Fiery red clouds emanated from his body, encircling him and propelling him higher into the sky.

Hager was nearly stunned upon witnessing this transformation.

"What is this! ? "

'This Fishman is undergoing a transformation? But how?!'

A creature exceeding fifty meters in length was soaring through the sky, hovering and gazing down at the warships below.

The slender form, fiery red scales, imposing head, commanding horns, and the fiery red clouds enveloping the body made him appear to glide amongst the clouds, only occasionally revealing his silhouette.

This is—

"A dragon! ? "

One marine cried out in disbelief, "He has transformed into a dragon! ! "

That fish-man has become a legendary creature!

"No, no! That is unmistakably Kaido's ability! Mythical Zoan Azure Dragon! ! "

Another marine exclaimed in astonishment, "It merely has a different color. Does it imply that he possesses powers akin to Kaido? "

Hager was baffled by the situation.

'This fishman is a devil fruit user? And he also possesses a Mythical Zoan similar to Kaido's?'

"Wait—"

A realization struck him.

"Let us end this. "

In the sky, the voice of the fiery red dragon resonated like thunder.

"Thunder! "

He abruptly lifted his head and roared.

The roar transformed into thunder!

Brilliant bolts of lightning surged from the red dragon's body, crashing down upon the warship like torrential rain.

Crack—!

The potent lightning struck the warship's deck and instantly breached the surface, penetrating the hull and creating massive openings. The entire warship shuddered violently.

Thunder rumbled across the deck, trapping numerous marines, whose cries echoed one after another.

In an instant, the warship was shattered and on the verge of sinking.

"Fuck! ! "

Hager, draped in military attire and appearing significantly darkened, groaned. His armament haki could not fully absorb the impact of the thunder.

"Bastard! ! "

Furious, Hager propelled himself into the air against the thunder, soaring upward toward Brett, who was positioned in the sky.

"Wind, heed my command! "

Brett shouted once more.

Amid the thunder, a ferocious wind suddenly surged.

The fierce gust obstructed Hager's Moonstep, and he was thrown off course.

"Damn it!"

He exclaimed, struggling to maintain his balance in the turbulent wind.

Brett's slender figure advanced, with the fiery red clouds moving even more swiftly.

The clouds spread across the sky and subsequently enveloped Hager, who had been swept away by the strong wind.

"What? Is this—"

Hager fought against the restraint, "Clouds? "

These clouds possessed substance. They felt soft yet firm, binding him tightly.

Brett ascended above Hager, releasing bolts of thunder from his body, which struck Hager repeatedly.

"ARRRGGHHH! "

Hager screamed.

"I warned you, but you didn't want to listen."

Brett spoke.

"Bastard! ! "

Amidst the thunder, Hager roared with all his strength. He extricated his hand from the clouds, slashed through them with all his might using the black blade, leaped into the air, and charged toward Brett against the backdrop of thunder.

"Ittori-ryu-Asuka! "

Brilliant fire formed from Brett's mouth, "Hot breath! ! "

Incandescent flames surged forth, engulfing Hager in an instant.

The flames then transformed into a long dragon that surged forward, crashing into the already damaged warship below.

BOOM—!!!

A massive explosion ensued, and the entire ship was reduced to a colossal fireball.
