Chapter 230: The Lost Treasure of the Black Iron Tribe
"What should we do now? Should we follow the Challenge Task's hint and first kill thirty Bloodline Demons, then take the demon heads to reconcile with the Black Iron Tribe?" Lin Zeyu suggested.
This was the most direct and effective method.
After all, the Bloodline Demons were the greatest enemies of the Black Iron Tribe.
The Bloodline Demons occupied Black Stone Mine, seizing Black Stone Castle and leaving the Darkville Black Iron Dwarves homeless.
To reclaim Black Stone Castle, these Black Iron Dwarves had been fighting the Bloodline Demons for three years.
Even though the previous batch of summoned Superpower Users had offended the Darkville Black Iron Tribe, it shouldn't have escalated to the level of mortal enemies.
After all, the summoned human Superpower Users only stayed here for fifteen days; how deeply could they offend the Black Iron Dwarves in just fifteen days?
Compared to a three-year conflict, fifteen days seemed quite insignificant.
Thus, taking the heads of Bloodline Demons as a token of intent truly held promise for earning the Black Iron Dwarves' forgiveness.
However, it was only a possibility.
The Challenge Task indeed provided a way to gain forgiveness, but meeting the requirement of killing 30 Bloodline Demons didn't guarantee forgiveness from the Black Iron Tribe.
Because the situation was constantly changing.
If they killed Bloodline Demons and tried to earn the Black Iron Tribe's forgiveness while other Superpower User teams killed Black Iron Dwarves,
this hatred would only deepen.
Killing demons was easy, but Charles Water and Park Hyun-jin's teams were the uncertain factors in this mission.
Su Muyu thought and said, "We have such a good relationship with Gulu; is it possible to rely on Gulu's connection to reconcile with the Black Iron Dwarves? I think that's the best strategy."
Killing Bloodline Demons to gain the Black Iron Tribe's forgiveness was indeed a low-end approach.
Lu Heng agreed, "That's what I think as well. However, to rely on Gulu's connection to reconcile with the Black Iron Tribe, finding those Black Iron Dwarf Warriors won't help; we need to find their tribe leader."
After discussing, the three decided to talk to the leader of the Darkville Black Iron Tribe.
Thus, the three of them used the Chongming Bird for aerial scouting, avoided the Black Iron Dwarves' patrol teams and approached the current dwelling of the Darkville Black Iron Tribe, Geothermal Valley.
In Geothermal Valley, there was a Dili Castle, originally a fortress for smelting belonging to the Darkville Black Iron Tribe.
Since the fall of Black Stone City, these Black Iron Dwarves had escaped from Black Stone Mine and gathered in Dili Castle.
Arriving outside Dili Castle, Lu Heng used an Illusion Pearl to transform into the appearance of a Black Iron Dwarf, then boldly walked into the fortress through the main gate.
The Black Iron Dwarf Warrior guarding the gate even waved and greeted, "Tie Zhu, weren't you following the captain to hunt down those damned humans? How come you're back so soon?"
Lu Heng twitched the corners of his mouth, waved at the guard, and walked straight in.
Speaking more could easily blow his cover; not talking might make the guard think this Black Iron Dwarf named Tie Zhu just wasn't in the mood today.
From the guard's conversation, it was clear that the Black Iron Dwarves really despised humans.
It was unclear how this hatred had arisen.
Theoretically speaking,
the task at the Abyss Battlefield clearly stated that it was to help the Darkville Black Iron Tribe expel the Bloodline Demons.
The human Superpower Users who were summoned shouldn't have become enemies with the Black Iron Dwarves.
Even if the tasks of the previously summoned batch were different from this time, they shouldn't have been completely opposite.
As Lu Heng pondered this, he encountered a small Black Iron Dwarf child running towards him.
The Black Iron Dwarf child, holding a toy iron hammer, asked, "Uncle Tie Zhu, did you find those evil humans? When I grow up, I'm going to hammer them into anvils."
Lu Heng stooped low, close to the ground, and asked, "Why do you hate those humans so much?"
The Black Iron Dwarf child matter-of-factly replied, "They stole the most precious thing from our tribe, and when I grow up, I must take it back..."
As Lu Heng was about to ask more, a Black Iron Dwarf woman in the distance called out, "Little Mud Ball, come back quickly!"
The Black Iron Dwarf child waved and then turned to run towards the woman, who was probably his mother.
Lu Heng almost asked the reason, but pursuing it further at this moment would have easily blown his cover.
Therefore, Lu Heng quickly turned and walked in another direction.
The effect of the Illusion Pearl was indeed strong; he managed to stroll around in Dili Castle without being detected.
While strolling, Lu Heng occasionally heard Black Iron Dwarves discussing humans, not a single good word among them.
It looked like the previously summoned Superpower Users had indeed deeply offended the Black Iron Dwarves.
Leaving behind such a mess for others to clean up.
Lu Heng sighed and continued walking, searching for the location of the Dakville Leader.
Outside the largest rock hall in the center of Dili Castle, there were guards in majestic armor standing guard.
This type of visually imposing armor wasn't actually suitable for combat; it was typically worn by guards for royalty or leaders, primarily for show.
Therefore, inside this rock hall was probably the tribe leader, if not the leader, then definitely an important figure.
Lu Heng walked over, the two guards at the door didn't block with weapons, but they both glared over.
"They seem to imply that as long as Lu Heng continued forward, they would ask his purpose," Lu Heng said directly, "I have important intelligence to report to the leader, concerning the Humans."
The two guards exchanged looks; one of them turned and walked into the stone hall to inform the leadership.
Moments later, the guard came out and said, "Go inside quickly. The leader is calling for you."
Lu Heng nodded to him and stepped into the stone hall.
At this moment, Dakville III, the leader of the Black Iron Tribe, was sitting in the stone hall with a furrowed brow.
In an endeavor to recapture the Black Stone City, he had led his tribesmen and fought against the Bloodline Demons for three years, watching as his tribe steadily declined.
Not long ago, the tribe suffered a heavy blow, losing something very important.
This had caused him many days of heavy sighs.
As Lu Heng entered the stone hall and saw Dakville III, he said, "Leader, I have important intelligence to report, and the doors of the hall need to be closed."
Dakville III turned his head, recognized Lu Heng as one of the tribe's vanguard warriors, and without suspicion, waved his hand to have the guards close the hall's doors.
After the door was closed, Dakville III asked proactively, "What is the intelligence? Speak."
Instead of answering his question, Lu Heng asked, "Leader, have you ever heard of Quenching Castle?"
Dakville appeared slightly displeased; he was worried about the future of his tribe and had no interest in discussing such legends.
"Speak your intelligence quickly."
"Leader, have you ever heard of Quenching Castle?"
"Of course, it's a symbol of the Black Iron Tribe's glorious past," Dakville replied, even more displeased, but still answered the question.
Satisfied with his response, Lu Heng then took out the Quenching Castle Badge and asked, "Have you seen this before, Leader?"
Dakville frowned and stared at the badge in Lu Heng's hand, exclaiming in surprise, "This is the Quenching Castle Badge! Where did you get this? Did you encounter other Black Iron Tribe branches?"
He thought this possibility was slim.
After the fall of Black Stone City, he had tried to find other branches of the Black Iron Tribe in hopes of uniting them to retake Black Stone City.
During that time, he indeed found some scattered groups of Black Iron Dwarfs, but their numbers were few.
Later, these scattered Black Iron Dwarfs had gathered at Dili Castle to fight against the Bloodline Demons.
Yet, as three years passed, the casualties within the Black Iron Tribe were heavy, and the hope of reclaiming Black Stone City became increasingly bleak.
Lu Heng stood tall and replied, "Dakville Leader, I come on behalf of Quenching Castle's current master, the Forging Master Gulu, to establish contact with the scattered Black Iron Tribe in the Abyss World."
Dakville furrowed his brow and said warily, "You are not a Black Iron Dwarf!"
"Yes, I am Human. Quenching Castle has taken refuge in the Human World to avoid Abyss corruption," Lu Heng nodded in reply.
"You are Human! You despicable, vile creatures!" Dakville suddenly showed anger.
Lu Heng hastily said, "Leader, I know that Humans have stolen your treasure, but I am not with those people. I am here representing Quenching Castle to aid the Black Iron Tribe."
Dakville scoffed, "Do you think I would believe you? Guards! Guards!"
At his shout, the guards of the Black Iron Tribe immediately pushed the doors open and raised their War Spears.
Lu Heng sighed and said, "*** Leader, I genuinely come representing Quenching Castle. Do you not wish to reunite with your scattered kin?"
Dakville certainly hoped for Quenching Castle to return to the embrace of the Black Iron Tribe since it was their former glory.
Thus, even though he did not believe Lu Heng's words, there was still a glimmer of hope in his heart.
"How can you prove that you represent Quenching Castle?" Dakville demanded.
Lu Heng thought for a moment and said, "This is the badge of Quenching Castle. If this is not enough, I also have weapons forged by Master Gulu here. As a Black Iron Tribe forging master's work, I think you should be able to recognize them, right?"
With that, Lu Heng took out the Aurora Blade and handed it over.
Actually, this action was somewhat risky.
Nevertheless, Lu Heng wanted to try.
Dakville had the guards take the Aurora Blade, then he took it himself, holding it in his hands to examine.
After just a few glances, his expression changed dramatically.
After all, it was the Black Iron Tribe's forging craftsmanship, and as the leader, how could he not recognize it.
"This is... are you really representing Quenching Castle?" Dakville's face showed a mixture of surprise and joy.
Lu Heng continued, "I have studied Quenching Skill under Master Gulu. If the Leader wishes, I can demonstrate it for you."
Hearing this, Dakville's face immediately showed anger, and he shouted, "You dare mention Quenching to me, you wretched Humans, you took our Quenching Furnace!"
Hearing this, Lu Heng's face showed a shocked expression.
Linking the information together, Lu Heng quickly understood many things.
It turned out the lost treasure of the Dakville Black Iron Tribe wasn't just anything, but had been the Quenching Furnace.
And it had been taken by Human Superpower Users not long ago.
Then the second Quenching Furnace that appeared in Blue Star, could it be...
