Chapter 8: Chapter 7: Dugu Bo
While Dugu Bo showed strong momentum froze Qian Renxue, because his voice caught her by surprise. She was not afraid of the man once who is actually the weakest Douluo . In Spirit Hall, there were masters ten times more powerful than him.
Still, Dugu Bo was a pitiful man. His family's inherited martial spirit ,the Jade Phosphor Serpent—was both powerful and tragically poisonous. Those who inherited it would inevitably be poisoned by their own power. The martial soul lacked a venom sac, so the toxins circulated freely through the wielder's body, eating away at them from within.
Now, only his granddaughter Dugu Yan remained. His son, Dugu Xin, passed away just a year prior, his body unable to withstand the torment of his martial soul. Dugu Bo's own fate had only changed due to a stroke of luck: his martial soul had evolved into the Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor. Even then, it still lacked a proper venom sac and would've eventually killed him. Only by finding the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well by a stroke of fortune, had he survived. This mystical spring suppressed his poison long enough for him to go into secluded cultivation.
He had since claimed the valley as his sanctuary.
But now, it had been invaded.
Yue Guan, ever elegant despite being held like luggage not long ago, landed with surprising grace. With his fair skin and smooth voice, his appearance blurred the lines of gender, and his words were laced with sarcasm as he spoke:
"This place belongs to nature, not any single person."
Yue Guan's words made Dugu Bo's face darken.
He could not afford to lose this sacred ground. The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was the only thing keeping his body from collapsing. His hair, once black, had long turned a deep shade of moss green. Even his fingernails glimmered faintly with a poisonous hue. These were not signs of power—but symptoms of deep, marrow-etched toxicity that clung to his very soul.
"This is my place of seclusion," Dugu Bo growled. "Trespassers shall pay the price."
Yue Guan sneered, unfazed. "You're the one squatting on a land of heaven's blessing, old snake. Don't talk about ownership as if nature signed a deed."
Both men's soul power surged.
Pressure weighed down upon the valley like the breath of a sleeping dragon. Dugu Bo's aura flared with a sickly green light, his poison threatening to seep into the air. Yue Guan, in response, raised his own power—elegant, cold, and precise, the pressure of a Spirit Hall elder , a Titled Douluo.
Neither of them backed down.
Qian Renxue stood still, unmoved by their bluster. Her golden eyes narrowed slightly in thought.
She remembered. In the original story, Dugu Bo had eventually bowed to Tang San after the young man resolved the poison ravaging his body. From then on, he had been fanatically loyal,so much so that he poisoned entire enemy armies in the Spirit Hall vs. Two Empires war, slaying millions with one move.
Such loyalty... could be redirected.
If she solved his poison now, Dugu Bo might become her sword.
But there was no time.
Electrolux's fragmented soul was hanging by threads. She needed the Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew immediately.
From her knowledge of the story which said this herb could heal and even enhance spirit. The Record of Immortal Herbs also confirmed the capabilities of this immortal herb.
The confrontation between two titled douluo could wait, the immortal herb could not.
Qian Renxue took a slow breath, her golden eyes calm amidst the rising storm of spirit pressure. Then she turned, voice soft but firm.
"Grandfather."
Qian Daoliu, who until now had stood like a silent statue, observing everything without interfering, finally moved.
A ripple passed through the valley.
He exhaled, and in that moment, the auras of both Yue Guan and Dugu Bo were instantly snuffed out—like candles caught in a divine wind. The oppressive weight that had blanketed the clearing vanished as if it had never existed. The stillness that followed felt even heavier than the earlier pressure, not due to hostility… but reverence.
Dugu Bo's face went pale.
His green-tinted hair trembled ever so slightly, and his knees almost gave out as he turned, eyes widening with disbelief. Only now did he truly see the man who had been standing there all along, as still and mighty as a mountain beyond time.
That golden light… that divine bearing…
"Qian… Qian Daoliu…" he muttered, his voice hoarse and full of shock. Cold sweat rolled down his back like a waterfall.
The Grand Priest of Spirit Hall. A Rank 99 Peak Limit Douluo. A being who stood just half a step away from Godhood.
Had he been blindly arguing in front of such a monster?
Qian Daoliu did not rebuke him. Instead, he gave a faint nod—an acknowledgment from the heavens. His voice, gentle like twilight, broke the silence.
"Xue'er. Take the herb."
Qian Daoliu had thought at first his lovely grand daughter was throwing a tantrum while feeling sad after being hurt by her own mother. So she made up some lie about some revelation from Ancestor about the Ice and Fire Yin Yang well. However , after arriving here and personally experiencing the mystical nature of the well, he understood his grand daughter did not lie.
Qian Renxue bowed her head slightly in thanks, then stepped forward.
Her fingers, pale and graceful, reached out to the delicate plant. The three snow-white leaves trembled faintly under her touch, and the dew nestled within their folds shimmered like captured moonlight. She plucked it carefully, holding it in both hands as though handling a relic carved from eternity.
For a moment, the world seemed to breathe with her.
The Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew was hers at last.
With this she will have a chance to atleast improve Electrolux's condition.
