Gamer, fixing the fates of fictional characters

Chapter 23: Status Update and Class

Knock, Knock, Knock.

"Hey Aunty, it's me, Kaitou. Can I come in for a second?"

"Sure, just come in, the door is open."

After hearing the positive reply, Kaitou entered the house and went to the living room, where his Aunt Mito was currently sitting, book in hand.

Seeing him enter, she looked up and put the book away, "So what can I do for you, sweetie."

"There is something I'd like to talk to you about, it is about the village project," Kaitou started, though, a bit embarrassed.

"I can guess, what you mean, and to be honest, it has been an topic for a long time already. You surely mean, that the Uzumaki Clan could just join the Village. But this isn't something that can be decided on a whim," said Mito, with a helpless expression.

Kaitou nodded, understanding the weight of such a decision. "I know it's not simple. The Uzumaki Clan is strong and independent, and Uzushiogakure is thriving. But… I think Konoha needs our people. Not just for their sealing techniques, but for their wisdom, their stability."

Mito sighed, leaning back into her chair. "It's not just about strength or skills, Kaitou. Uzushio is our home, and our people have always valued their autonomy. Joining Konoha means more than just an alliance - it means integrating our culture, our traditions, into a new system."

Kaitou sat across from her, his expression serious. "I get that. And honestly, I wouldn't want the Uzumaki to lose their identity. But I also know that war will come, Aunt Mito. Konoha will become a target, and so will Uzushio. If we stand together, we'll be stronger. Tobirama and Hashirama have already spoken about forming alliances, but an alliance isn't the same as being united under one banner."

Mito studied him carefully, her sharp, intelligent eyes taking in his every word. "You've thought this through, haven't you?"

He nodded. "I have. And I know that there will be resistance, both from the Uzumaki and from some clans in Konoha. Some might fear that the Uzumaki will dominate the village's sealing techniques, while others might see this as an unnecessary complication. But I also know that without the Uzumaki, Konoha will always be lacking something vital."

Mito was silent for a long moment before she let out a soft chuckle. "You're a sharp one, Kaitou. You remind me of Tobirama sometimes."

Kaitou smiled slightly. "I'll take that as a compliment."

Mito sighed, rubbing her temples. "I can't promise anything. This will require a formal discussion with the Uzumaki elders, and they won't be easy to convince. But… I will at least bring it to their attention. You make a compelling case. But it's still unlikely that the Clan will fully cooperate."

Relief washed over Kaitou, though he kept his composure. "That's all I ask. Thank you, Aunt Mito. And I'm sure that we can find a good solution for everyone."

She smiled warmly, standing up and ruffling his hair. "You're a good kid, Kaitou. You've got a mind for strategy, but don't forget - sometimes, emotions matter just as much as logic. If you want to bring people together, you have to understand their hearts, not just their interests."

"I'll remember that," Kaitou said sincerely.

Before he could completely step out the door, Mito added, "Even if they do not agree, there are still a few minor clans that reside in the Land of Fire, it will all work out, don't worry."

As he left the house, he felt a sense of satisfaction. The first step had been taken. Now, it was only a matter of time before the Uzumaki's fate would be decided.

On his way back, he was ecstatic inside, with everything dealt with for now, he can finally check his current Status, after all the Level Ups and the notification.

Upon returning, the house was as often nowadays quite, his mother true to her word, left for the Land of Whirlpools shortly after, he learned the 'Hydrafication Technique'. This was also, so that Kaitou could learn to be more independent, while he was still very young, he understood, that because of his status he was pampered for a long time.

In case of problems, he now had to consult his uncles or aunt for help.

Regardless, when he sat down and relaxed a bit, after eating a small snack, he was ready. Rubbing his hands in excitement, he called the familiar word out in his mind, 'Status'.

Together with his Status were also some notifications he already expected.

Kaitou's eyes scanned over his status, and his excitement grew. His progress was undeniable, and he could feel the difference in his abilities compared to just half a year ago. However, what truly caught his interest was the new [System Notice] flashing in the corner of his eye.

After examining all the notifications and thoroughly understanding them, he was glad, how things turned out.

Nor he just needed a few answers to the his current questions, he decided to ask the questions straight away.

"System, I still have a few inquiries about all the changes. First of all, what is a Fate Point, and what use does it have for me? Second, to what degree can the 'Free Elemental Affinity Fusion' be used? And lastly, it is said, that my Class is now unlocked, what kinds of classes are there?"

[Very well Host, to your first question, A Fate Point marks the currency of the System Shop Function, you can receive them by altering course of Canon, this time it was by stopping Hiruzen Sarutobi from becoming the Third Hokage.]

[The next question is even simpler, with this 'Free Elemental Affinity Fusion' the User can freely combine up to three Elements, to create a unique Kekkei Tōta. The choice which Elements will be used lies with the host]

[As for the last Question, as these Classes are the start classes, there are only the four basic ones. Those are: Warrior, Magician, Archer and Assassin. The next evolved Classes will be available on level 30, then 50 and lastly the end classes will be unlocked upon reaching level 100.]

[The User is now required to choose one of the mentioned Classes, each having their own bonus,

Warrior: Improved Physical Skills and Bonus in Melee Combat

After thinking for a moment, Kaitou lastly decided to choose the…
