Genshin Impact: I Can Obtain Adventure EXP

Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Spiral Corridor: First Floor (2-in-1 Chapter)

The portal to the Spiral Abyss appeared like a vertical wall of rippling water. When touched, it shimmered gently with waves.

Nolan and the others reached out and touched the "water curtain," and in the next instant, they vanished from where they stood.

It was like blinking—after a brief moment of darkness, they opened their eyes again to find themselves in a dim and unfamiliar space.

Above them stretched a massive dome, and beneath their feet was a floor paved with stone.

All around were various buildings.

Some were tents pitched by adventurers who had come here to explore. Others were remnants of the ancient subterranean capital itself, constructed in a variety of architectural styles.

However, no people could be seen living nearby for now—only monsters that had emerged from the outside world.

Most of them were Hilichurls and Slimes, typically ranging from level 30 to 40 or higher.

To even consider exploring this place safely, an elite adventuring party with an average level of 40 to 50 would be the bare minimum.

And this was just the first floor, the initial area they were transported into.

Venturing into the second floor would demand even greater strength, as the monsters there would undoubtedly be far more powerful.

The Spiral Abyss was actually split into two main sections: the Spiral Corridor and the Abyssal Moon Spire.

The Abyssal Moon Spire was the truly dangerous part of this vast underground city.

The Spiral Corridor served as the connection between the world of Teyvat and the Abyssal Moon Spire.

It was divided into eight floors.

Each floor was vast, resembling a city in its own right. Since it connected Teyvat with the deeper abyss, it was aptly named a "corridor."

Currently, Nolan and the others had arrived at the first floor of the Spiral Corridor.

To reach the second floor, they would need to travel to the far end of the current one and find the teleportation portal located there.

This much was recorded in the Adventurers' Guild archives, and Bennett had read about it.

Those who managed to reach the eighth floor and successfully enter the Abyssal Moon Spire were extremely rare.

Without exception, they were famous among adventurers—some even considered legendary.

Overall, the setup was somewhat different from the version in Nolan's memory of the game, but the fundamental structure—progressing floor by floor—remained the same.

What piqued his curiosity, though, was what lay in floor twelve, the very bottom of the Abyssal Moon Spire. Would it differ from the game?

According to Bennett, the furthest record held by the Adventurers' Guild was set by the legendary adventurer Miss Alice, who once reached the twelfth floor of the Abyssal Moon Spire.

But as for what secrets or legendary treasures were hidden there—she never said.

All she left behind was one cryptic line:

> "For an adventurer, the answers are only meaningful when uncovered through trials and effort."

Then she left everyone hanging.

Those who wanted to learn the truth about the twelfth floor would have to see it for themselves.

So far, no adventurer had managed to replicate Miss Alice's feat and reach that depth.

Nolan felt he might be able to give it a try. He turned to his companions and said:

"Let's go. We need to head deeper into this floor and resolve the ley line disturbances."

"Alright! Leave any monsters we run into along the way to me!"

Bennett thumped his chest confidently.

What he meant was that he'd take care of the weaker monsters along the path.

Nolan, of course, had no objections. After all, low-level monsters didn't offer much EXP anyway.

"Alright then, let's move!"

The group began making their way toward the far end of the first floor. Each floor of the Spiral Corridor was designed such that the teleportation portal was located directly opposite the direction of the entrance.

So they didn't need to worry about getting lost—just walk straight ahead.

Clip-clop, clip-clop—the crisp tapping of girls' heels echoed as the group walked a few hundred meters.

Eventually, they reached a large open chamber where they stumbled upon a group of Hilichurls using Pyro Slimes to cook their food.

The Hilichurls here were roughly level 40–50, and their leader was a Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl at level 59, nearly 60.

It had been resting, but the moment it sensed Nolan's group approaching, it leapt to its feet and let out a threatening roar!

Its underlings, startled, immediately grabbed wooden clubs, crossbows, and other weapons, glaring at the intruding humans.

They'd seen adventurers like these before—but most had run away at the first glimpse of their boss's might.

When they noticed this group didn't intend to flee, the club-wielding Hilichurls let out battle cries and charged in with a loud "Waa-ya!"

The crossbow-wielding Hilichurls didn't hesitate either, quickly firing a barrage of elemental arrows!

There were fire and water arrows among them—if they struck, the resulting Vaporize reaction would hurt a lot.

From the back, a Dendro Hilichurl Shaman began waving its staff, summoning vines to strike at Nolan's team.

"Not on my watch!"

It was Noelle again. She activated her Breastplate, fearlessly stepping forward to shield the team. The arrows and vines bounced harmlessly off the barrier.

Bennett seized the moment during the attack cooldown, drew his longsword, and charged into battle!

…Only to be immediately betrayed by his bad luck. A crack suddenly opened in the ground a few meters ahead.

Bennett's foot slipped right into it, and the rest of him tumbled forward—thud!—his chin slammed into the floor.

"Waaah! That hurts!"

The unlucky teen sprang back up, clutching his chin in pain.

Nolan sighed, a bit speechless, and gave Barbara a look, signaling her to heal him.

"Bennett really is strong, but… all his injuries during adventures come from things like this?"

Barbara cast Melody Loop on him and muttered in disbelief. A veteran adventurer, tripping on flat ground?

"You're not wrong. I guess… it's a kind of talent in its own right," Nolan chuckled.

With Melody Loop healing him, Bennett's chin quickly recovered, though it still stung a little.

But he gritted his teeth and rushed back into the fight.

The Hilichurl with the club was stunned that a human dared fight back. It cursed in incomprehensible Hilichurlian, then leapt up and swung its club at Bennett!

This time, Bennett was much more cautious. He kept his footing and parried the blow with his flaming longsword.

Then, with a spinning slash, he redirected the sword into the Hilichurl's chest—flames piercing straight through its body.

One down. Bennett immediately charged at the next enemy.

He fought his way through until he reached the Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl.

Enraged, the Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl roared again. Massive amounts of Geo energy surged into its fists, encasing them in solid rock.

It swung hard at Bennett!

Bennett instinctively raised his sword to block, but the sheer force still sent him flying.

At that moment, Noelle stepped in to take over the fight!

Also a Geo user, she may have been slightly lower in level, but with her superhuman strength, she wasn't at a disadvantage even in a direct clash.

The Geo armor covering the Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl's body shattered into fragments under her mighty swings.

And when it pounded its fists onto her Breastplate, all it managed to do was cause a light vibration—without even a single crack.

Bennett, who had been sent flying backward, used his sword to brace against the ground and absorb most of the impact, twisting midair to flip himself back upright.

Then he unleashed his Elemental Burst once more, hurling it at the Hilichurl Shaman lurking nearby, who had been waiting to ambush them.

"Bang!"

Flames blossomed, the ground cracked, and the frail Hilichurl Shaman stood no chance against such a violent assault—it perished instantly, its soul soaring to the heavens.

The field of "Fantastic Voyage" was immense, extending even to Noelle, who was in the midst of a head-on battle with the Mitachurl.

With the bonus from this domain, she launched her own Elemental Burst, "Sweeping Time," the heavy Favonius Greatsword wreathed in thick Geo energy.

The blade extended by several more feet, making it even easier to carve into the Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl, bits of crumbling rock armor breaking off with every slash.

The Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl was already at a disadvantage!

Having finished off the Hilichurl Shaman, Bennett swiftly cleaned up the crossbow-wielding Hilichurls, then rushed over to help take down the Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl.

Before long, the armor of Geo energy covering the Shieldwall Mitachurl shattered completely, unable to hide its failing strength. After barely holding on for a few more minutes, it finally crashed to the ground, utterly defeated!

"Not bad at all!"

Nolan, Barbara, and Rosaria stepped forward, clapping appreciatively as Nolan spoke with high praise:

"Bennett dispatched every small-sized Hilichurl he could handle with impressive speed, and chose not to clash head-on with the Shieldwall Mitachurl he couldn't beat—such seasoned judgment.

"As for you, Noelle, with your strength… not to mention becoming an official Knight of Favonius, even qualifying as a Knight-Captain-in-training would be no issue!

"You're on par with the elite Knights of Favonius. I believe once you pass the knight-selection exam, fighting alongside Captain Jean will only be a matter of time!"

Bennett sheathed his longsword, smiling as he said,

"All this experience comes from daily adventures—you have to rely on it if you want to finish commissions and ensure your own safety!"

Noelle, hearing such a high level of recognition from Nolan, couldn't help but respond with a bashful, rosy-cheeked smile:

"It's… it's really not as great as you say. To fight alongside Captain Jean… um, I'm still a long way off."

[Noelle Had Developed Good Feelings Towards You, Obtained 230 Affection Points. Current Affection Level: Lv.7 (430/700)]

"All right, with the monsters blocking our path dealt with, let's move on!"

Nolan smiled as he spoke.

"Mm!"

Noelle, Barbara, and Bennett all nodded excitedly, only Rosaria still looking as indifferent as ever.

There was still some way to go before reaching the depths of the first floor, and on the journey, the group ran into many more monsters.

Monsters of level 40 to 50 were left to Bennett and the others for practice; the tougher ones Nolan dealt with himself, racking up a decent amount of Adventure EXP in the process.

Meanwhile, his sword-god avatar back in Qingxu Pool, Liyue, was using its mental sense to scan the area.

It soon discovered the band of elite Treasure Hoarders hiding within the Qingxu Pool ruins, and dealt with the troublemakers easily.

It netted about 90,000 Adventure EXP there, bringing the total on his character panel up past 290,000:

[Adventure EXP: 296092]

He needed just a bit more than two-thirds of that to level up. At this rate, a little more exploration in the "Spiral Abyss" should do the trick.

"We're here!"

While Nolan was pondering this, they ascended a staircase along the path and arrived at a vast, circular chamber.

The domed ceiling, dark and lustrous, resembled a starry night. The walls were carved with intricate, mysterious patterns.

Probably only the ancient civilization that built the "Spiral Abyss" would know what these markings meant.

"This must be the end of the first floor. A portal to the next floor is at the far end of the room," Bennett commented, gazing at the portal in the distance.

"Yeah, but there's something odd in the center of the room—some strange Ruin Guards, and they look like they're corrupted!"

Noelle, standing at Nolan's right, sounded slightly surprised.

Nolan looked at the center of the room as well, spotting several Ruin Guards shrouded in black mist no different from that of the Eye of the Storm.

That black mist seemed to have a source: a Lumenstone stabilizer encircled by the Ruin Guards.

For some reason, this Lumenstone had cracked in several places, and black smoke was seeping slowly from the fissures.

Apparently, the adventuring party they'd met earlier were right—the abnormalities within the ley lines had caused the monster rampage.

Specifically, the ley lines were already abnormal, but had been kept in check by the stabilizer's seal. Now that the stabilizer was damaged, trouble had returned.

In this kind of situation, fixing the stabilizer would usually require a specialist.

But none of those present had such technical skills. Not that it mattered—Nolan had a way of harnessing ley line energy directly.

He couldn't repair the Lumenstone itself, but he could treat the abnormalities in the ley line directly!

"These corrupted Ruin Guards seem much stronger—we'll have to count on you for this one!" said Bennett, after sensing the terrifying aura from the enemies—far more daunting than the Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl from before.

There was no way he could win; with his chronic bad luck, he'd probably be one-shot if he tried rushing in, so only Nolan could handle it.

"All right, no problem!" Nolan nodded. In the golden eyes of judgment, the corrupted Ruin Guards and the Eye of the Storm were about the same—definitely over level 70.

Clearly, it had to be him.

He wasted no time, summoning the "Sword God of Lumine" and slicing the air from a distance, sending out several golden sword waves.

In under a second, all the Ruin Guards' power cores split cleanly in half.
