Chapter 74: chapter 75-77
Chapter 75: Make Up for the Regret in My Heart
Amon carefully inspected the spirit lamp in his backpack.
At first glance, it looked no different from an ordinary desk lamp.
However, the soul-wandering lamp had a unique property: it could only be lit at night.
Once the lamp was lit, a ghost would quickly appear before the user.
It was important to note, however, that the spirit lamp would not attract all ghosts.
Only those who were pure and kind-hearted, without malice, could be summoned.
Evil or malevolent spirits were unaffected by its light.
The ghosts summoned by the spirit lamp were often those who had regrets in their lives before passing away.
If one could help fulfill their unfulfilled wishes, they would receive an intertwined fate as a reward.
Having understood the function of the spirit lamp, Amon proceeded to light it.
The lamp emitted a warm and gentle yellow light.
A breeze drifted through the window, and under the moonlight, the stars seemed to gather, gradually forming the shape of a human figure.
The figure resembled an adult man, standing straight and dignified like a pine tree.
There was a commanding aura about him.
He appeared to be wearing armor and held a spear in his hand.
Amon immediately recognized the figure as the spirit of a Millelith soldier.
The soldier looked out the window, letting out a wistful sigh.
"Is this Liyue? It has been so long since I've seen my hometown's scenery."
Turning to Amon, he asked with some confusion,
"Young man, why have you summoned me? As long as you're in Liyue, this Millelith will assist you."
Even in death, the soldier's instinct was to offer help to the residents of Liyue.
Amon shook his head gently and replied,
"I'm not here to seek help. I want to make up for the regret you carried in your heart before you passed away."
"Make up for... my regret?" The soldier seemed surprised.
"I do have a regret from my life, but I can't quite recall it. Please, give me a moment to think."
After a pause, the soldier's expression brightened with remembrance.
"I remember now. Please... make me a bowl of noodles!"
Amon was startled.
A hero's only regret was eating noodles?
What kind of story lay behind such a simple request?
Sensing Amon's confusion, the soldier chuckled dryly and explained,
"Perhaps I should tell you a story. Then you might understand why I wish for a bowl of noodles."
He began his tale, speaking slowly as if recounting a mission report.
"I was a Millelith soldier. My captain and I were patrolling near the Chasm when we encountered a landslide and fell into a cave."
"The captain reassured me that rescue would arrive soon, but we were trapped in that cave for three days and nights with no signs of help."
"Two more days passed, and we had nearly exhausted our supply of dry rations."
The soldier's voice softened, as though reliving the moment.
"I realized that if nothing changed, neither of us would survive. So, while the captain slept, I secretly gave him all of my dry food."
"When the captain ate, I sat beside him, pretending to eat my own rations. I even acted as though my meal was more delicious than his."
"The truth, however, was that I was eating dirt. I must have been convincing because the captain didn't notice."
"It wasn't until my strength began to fail that he realized what I had done. The captain tried to share his rations with me, but I refused."
"If we had shared, both of us would have died. It was better for him to survive."
The soldier spoke with a quiet resolve, as though he was recounting someone else's story.
"I didn't regret giving my food to the captain. He was a brave and accomplished leader, someone the Millelith needed. I was just an ordinary soldier. His survival was more important."
He laughed softly, though his words carried a hint of sorrow.
"Besides, what's the big deal about skipping a few meals? I wasn't afraid of going hungry. Well… maybe I was a little afraid. It's truly uncomfortable to be hungry."
Looking at Amon with a faint smile, he said,
"So, can you make me a bowl of noodles? Just one bowl. I'm really... hungry."
Faced with such a heartfelt and simple request, Amon couldn't refuse.
"Wait here. I'll bring you a bowl of noodles right away."
Amon quickly prepared a steaming bowl of noodles, adding extra to ensure the soldier had enough.
The heroic spirit devoured the noodles enthusiastically, seemingly unfazed by the heat.
Not a single noodle or drop of soup remained.
The soldier set down his chopsticks and looked at Amon with gratitude.
"Thank you. That was the best bowl of noodles I've ever had. My stomach no longer feels empty."
With a contented smile, the blue light surrounding his figure flickered gently, like a heartbeat.
Moments later, he dissolved into starlight, carried away by the wind over Liyue.
Only the empty bowl remained as proof of his presence.
Amon quietly cleaned up the dishes, reflecting on the soldier's tragic yet inspiring story.
It was a tale filled with sadness, yet there was solace in knowing that the soldier had finally found peace.
At least, he departed with a smile.
The spirit lamp dimmed, its light signaling that it could only be used once a day.
Just then, a voice echoed in Amon's mind.
"Ding! The ghost has resolved his regret. Congratulations, host, on obtaining an intertwined fate."
Excited, Amon opened the card pool and made a single draw.
A blue light descended from the heavens.
"Congratulations, host! You have obtained the item 'Pure Hearth Talisman.'"
"It grants immunity to negative effects for a certain period of time."
Though the talisman seemed useful, Amon had no immediate need for it and placed it in his backpack.
After tidying everything, Amon sat down at his desk and began writing a novel.
He
had resolved to develop good habits, reading and writing at least 2,000 words every day.

Chapter 76: The Fox Who Likes to Play Tricks on People
Time soon came for the next day.
Amon got up very early; after all, he was going fishing today.
Many people fished at Liyue Harbor every day, so it was necessary to find a good spot early.
He first went to Qiqi's room. Little Qiqi had not rested all night and had been doing stretching exercises.
So, when she heard Amon knocking on the door, she immediately walked out of the room.
The little girl blinked her beautiful eyes and said in a baby voice, "Qiqi... I'm ready to go fishing with Amon."
Looking at Qiqi's silly and cute expression, Amon couldn't help but reach out and pinch Qiqi's face.
Qiqi didn't mind; she thought Amon liked to pinch her, so she let him do it.
When Amon saw how adorable Qiqi was, he immediately remembered the props he had prepared the night before.
He took out a talisman while Qiqi wasn't paying attention.
Then he squatted in front of her and spoke softly, "Qiqi, since you cannot touch the sun, I prepared a talisman for you."
"With this talisman, Qiqi won't feel uncomfortable even if she stands under the sun."
As Amon spoke, he placed the talisman on Qiqi.
"Qiqi... Can we bask in the sun now?"
"Thank you, Amon... Qiqi likes it..."
Although Qiqi couldn't show any expression on her face, her tone was full of joy.
Amon rubbed Qiqi's head and then said softly, "Shall we wake Ningguang and Beidou next?"
"Okay," Qiqi nodded, holding Amon's hand.
Amon first went to Beidou's room and knocked gently on the door.
"Beidou, we're going fishing today. Are you up?"
Amon thought he would have to wait for a while, but unexpectedly, Beidou opened the door just as he finished speaking.
Beidou really cared about Amon's opinion of her.
So, when she heard Amon knocking, she didn't even bother to put on her shoes and ran to open the door barefoot.
"Brother Amon, I'm ready and can leave at any time!"
The previous day, Beidou had learned that Amon would be going fishing in the morning.
In response, she woke up before dawn.
Then, she became so nervous that she couldn't fall back asleep and simply sat by the bed, waiting for dawn.
She didn't want to delay the group because of her procrastination.
Amon couldn't help laughing when he saw this.
"Little Beidou, you don't have to rush to open the door. It's easy to catch a cold if you step barefoot on the wooden floor."
"Next time, put on your shoes before opening the door. Do you hear me?"
Qiqi, beside him, also nodded gently: "Beidou... don't worry..."
"We can... wait for Beidou..."
Hearing Amon and Qiqi's words, Beidou felt warmth in her heart—kindness and consideration she had never experienced before.
Amon also knew that Beidou was still a little unaccustomed to the new environment, which made her nervous.
Perhaps today's fishing trip could help bring them closer.
After waking Beidou, Amon finally went to call Ningguang.
The reason was simple.
Ningguang had indeed been very tired lately.
She also had to take care of her mother at home.
(Translator's note: I wonder why her mother hasn't appeared recently.)
On top of that, Ningguang was responsible for overseeing the village's construction.
It was truly not easy for the little girl.
Amon walked to the door of Ningguang's room and knocked gently.
"Ningguang, are you up? We're going fishing."
As Amon finished speaking, the door opened.
The little girl Ningguang had already woken up and was holding a schedule in her hand.
Little Ningguang ran into Amon's arms and looked up at him seriously.
"Brother Amon, Ningguang is already awake!"
"I had nothing to do, so I arranged today's schedule."
"Brother Amon, please take a look. Is this arrangement for today okay?"
As Ningguang spoke, she handed the itinerary to Amon.
Looking at the well-organized schedule, Amon couldn't help but sigh at how strong Ningguang's abilities were becoming.
Without much guidance, the little girl already had the makings of a brilliant businesswoman.
Amon believed she would be able to expand her business empire in the future.
All Amon needed to do was to support Ningguang as much as possible.
Amon rubbed Ningguang's little head and said softly, "Ningguang, this schedule is very well planned."
"Let's follow this schedule today."
Hearing Amon's approval, Ningguang smiled happily. She truly looked like a little fool.
Just as Amon was about to take the three kids fishing, he heard a knock at the door.
"Mr. Amon, if you don't leave now, you'll have to stand while fishing later."
Hearing the charming and gentle voice, Amon immediately realized it was Yae Miko.
What was going on? Yae Miko urging him to fish?
When Amon opened the door, he found Yae Miko holding fishing equipment.
Ganyu was standing beside her.
Amon asked in surprise, "Ms. Yae, Ms. Ganyu, what are you doing?"
Yae Miko chuckled and said, "Oh, that's right."
"Sister Ganyu heard you were going fishing and wanted to join in."
Amon found this odd, knowing that Ganyu was a strict vegetarian and avoided all meat-related activities.
How could she be interested in fishing?
Noticing Amon's confusion, Yae Miko continued, "My sister isn't interested in fishing at all."
"She just wanted to spend time with you under the guise of fishing."
Ganyu's face turned red with embarrassment.
"Miko... didn't you say Mr. Amon was looking for me?"
"Why are you saying I want to go fishing with him now?"
Ganyu glared at Yae Miko in frustration.
The mischievous fox had tricked her!
Yae Miko laughed and teased her further, but eventually, they all left to begin their f
ishing trip.

Chapter 77: Ganyu is Like a Little Girl Who Has Just Begun to Fall in Love
Liyue Harbor.
A man with gray hair, appearing elderly, was taking a leisurely walk, occasionally glancing at the cargo ships entering and leaving the port.
He looked relaxed and content, as if thoroughly enjoying his retirement.
Many workers and fishermen greeted him with smiles when they saw him, appearing very familiar with him.
In Liyue, many people had seen the man but didn't know his name, so they simply called him Uncle Tian.
In truth, this seemingly inconspicuous and ordinary man was none other than Tianshu, one of the Liyue Qixing.
The Liyue Qixing were renowned and respected by everyone.
No matter where they went in Liyue, they would inevitably become the center of attention.
But Uncle Tian was different.
Kind and indifferent to fame and fortune, he had never publicly revealed his identity as one of the Liyue Qixing.
As a result, the people of Liyue believed Uncle Tian was just an ordinary old man.
Uncle Tian was quite happy with this humble identity.
In his spare time, he often fished at the harbor with his fishing rod.
Whether or not he caught anything was secondary; the primary joy lay in enjoying a peaceful and harmonious life.
At this moment, Uncle Tian arrived at his usual fishing spot.
As he passed by, he occasionally overheard porters gossiping about trivial matters—someone's chicken being stolen by a village bully, or a chef who liked to cook chicken soup but was secretly using double-cooked pangolin meat.
The topics were varied, but lately, the conversations always seemed to circle back to Ganyu.
People were saying all kinds of things about Lady Ganyu:
That she might be getting married.
That she seemed to have lost her appetite and hadn't eaten for an entire day.
That she wore a flower on her head, which was supposedly a token of love.
In any case, Ganyu had become the center of Liyue's gossip recently.
Uncle Tian had naturally heard these rumors, but he didn't believe in or spread them.
After all, he had been friends with Ganyu for decades.
From the time he joined the Liyue Qixing, Ganyu had been by his side, working tirelessly.
Uncle Tian knew Ganyu was entirely focused on her career and had never given much thought to love.
So, all the current gossip was surely baseless.
Still, he figured Ganyu might be upset about these rumors and thought he should find a chance to clear things up for her.
At that moment, Uncle Tian noticed a girl walking toward the pier, accompanied by three cute children.
The girl had pink hair and eyes as charming and lively as a fox.
Her red hakama was eye-catching, and her curvy figure was on full display.
Uncle Tian recognized her as Yae Miko, one of Ganyu's close friends.
As for the three children with her, Uncle Tian immediately recognized Ningguang and Beidou, while the third little girl, covered in talismans, was unfamiliar to him.
Although Uncle Tian enjoyed a leisurely life, he was well aware of most people's situations in Liyue.
Then, Uncle Tian noticed something else.
Not far behind Yae Miko, there was a tall figure—none other than Ganyu.
Beside her stood a young man, someone Uncle Tian had never seen before.
Whether intentionally or not, Yae Miko walked quickly ahead with the three children, leaving Ganyu and the young man some space to themselves.
The distance between the two groups was significant, so Uncle Tian couldn't hear what Ganyu and the young man were discussing.
However, it was obvious that Ganyu appeared nervous and shy as she stood next to him, much like a little girl experiencing her first love.
It's often said that the distance between two people can reflect the nature of their relationship.
At this moment, Uncle Tian noticed how close Ganyu was to the young man.
Their shoulders occasionally brushed, and their hands would touch briefly before quickly separating, but the closeness remained constant.
Seeing this, Uncle Tian was utterly surprised.
In his memory, Ganyu was always well-mannered, gentle, and kind.
She maintained an appropriate distance from everyone, regardless of who they were.
This was the first time Uncle Tian had seen Ganyu so physically close to a member of the opposite sex.
Could it be that Ganyu really had a boyfriend?
Were the city's rumors not just baseless chatter but actually true?
Before Uncle Tian could process this revelation, Ganyu had already approached him.
Uncle Tian held great respect for Ganyu, so he immediately stepped forward to greet her.
"Sister Ganyu, what a coincidence to meet you here," he said warmly.
Hearing someone speak, the three children stopped in their tracks.
They looked curiously at the old man standing before them.
It seemed strange to them—this man was clearly very old, with white hair and a beard, yet he called Ganyu "sister."
The three kids blinked their big, curious eyes, tilting their heads in confusion.
