Chapter 309: This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [309]
"A job?!"
Osial roared, his deep voice reverberating through the depths of the sea. "Hah! You want me to serve you? Forget it!"
"Now, now, don't be so quick to refuse." Luo Qing hummed lightly, a teasing tone lacing his voice. "Becoming a security guard has a bright future ahead, you know. It'll save you at least a few hundred years of trouble."
"Kill me or do whatever you like, but don't even think about making me work for you!" Osial's voice thundered with indignation, though he knew full well there was no chance of defeating Luo Qing. Long gone were the days when he would threaten to wash Liyue in blood—he'd already lost two of his heads to this man.
The mere thought of another encounter made him shudder. If he so much as tried something reckless, Luo Qing would undoubtedly finish him off without hesitation.
"Ah, that's not how you should look at this," Luo Qing said with a faint sigh, shaking his head. With a flick of his wrist, a familiar purple orb appeared in his palm—a Master Ball.
In Teyvat, few ancient gods remained, and among them, Osial was one of the more notable ones. The last time Luo Qing had come to Liyue, he hadn't yet pulled the Master Ball from his "inventory." Back then, he'd had no choice but to slice off two of Osial's heads to keep him in check.
But now…
With the Master Ball, he could make Osial his pet!
"Well then, let's run a little test first." Luo Qing spun the Master Ball casually in his hand before locking eyes with Osial, a mischievous glint in his gaze.
"Listen closely, Osial—sing me a round of 'Don't Look at Me, I'm Just a Little Sheep.'"
"You dare—?!"
Before Osial could finish his outburst, he suddenly felt his body freeze. A strange melody and lyrics appeared unbidden in his mind.
"Happy Lamb… Pretty Lamb…"
The familiar yet utterly ridiculous children's song echoed through the seabed of Guyun Stone Forest, its inexplicably catchy tune sending ripples across the ocean and scattering schools of fish for hundreds of meters.
As the final note faded, Osial felt an unprecedented sense of humiliation. A god—a former Vortex God!—had been forced to sing such a demeaning song against his will.
"Perfect, no issues," Luo Qing said, clearly pleased, nodding in satisfaction.
The Master Ball required the user's mental strength to surpass the target's for a successful capture. For Luo Qing, confirming this simply meant testing whether his psychic control could manipulate the target's body.
He had to admit, he was surprised.
Even a god on Osial's level was no match for his mental strength.
"Well then…" Luo Qing began, walking toward Osial's central head. The Master Ball in his hand glowed with a faint, ominous light. "Little Osial, it looks like the role of Liyue's security guard has your name written all over it."
Before Osial could respond, Luo Qing tossed the Master Ball forward. It struck Osial's forehead and bounced back into the air, snapping open with a soft pop. A beam of light shot out, spiraling into Osial's massive body.
"Now, how does it feel to join the ranks of security?" Luo Qing asked, casually settling himself atop Osial's head and knocking lightly on his skull.
"Luo Qing, you…" Osial's voice trembled, a mix of anger and helplessness.
At the very moment the light entered him, something unshakable had taken root in his mind—a command that could not be disobeyed. An unrelenting urge to obey Luo Qing's every word.
Without Luo Qing's orders, even death was beyond his reach.
"What kind of attitude is that?" Luo Qing chided, kicking Osial lightly on the head. "I'm your boss now, understand? Let me hear you say, 'Good morning, Boss.'"
Of course, a security guard needed a boss. And that boss was Luo Qing.
As for why not master?
Only cute girls get to call me "master," thank you very much. Any guys? Boss, and that's final.
"…"
Osial fell silent for a long moment before muttering begrudgingly, "Good… morning, Boss."
"That's more like it~." Luo Qing nodded approvingly. "From today onward, little Osial, you're Liyue's number-one security guard. Swear to protect Liyue with your life, got it?"
"…"
Osial's mind churned with a mess of emotions. He had once been sealed here for attacking Liyue, and now Luo Qing wanted him to protect it?
What kind of twisted irony was this?
"…Yes, Boss."
"Good, that settles it." Luo Qing clapped his hands and stood up. "Stay here for now. Soon, someone will come to release you, and when that happens, you'll be free to serve as Liyue's top security guard."
According to Ningguang's intel, Beisht's goal this time wasn't to temporarily weaken Osial's seal—it was to release him entirely. Luo Qing wasn't sure how they had acquired the means to do so, but if they succeeded, Osial would be set free to roam the seas unchecked.
Given Liyue's current military strength, if Zhongli didn't intervene, they would have no way of truly defeating Osial. At best, they could wound him, but he would simply retreat and recover, only to return stronger.
Instead of letting that happen, Luo Qing figured it was far more practical to capture Osial now and repurpose him. As a "tool god," he could be useful for both defense and combat.
With his goal complete, Luo Qing returned to Liyue Harbor as evening fell.

Liyue Harbor
When Luo Qing disembarked, he was greeted by Ningguang, who waited patiently at the docks.
"Mr. Luo Qing…" Ningguang inclined her head slightly. Her demeanor had changed—there was a newfound respect in her gaze, and much of her previous arrogance as Tianquan of the Qixing had vanished.
Clearly, the events of the morning had left quite an impression.
"It's all settled," Luo Qing announced, stretching lazily as he walked past her.
Ningguang glanced toward the distant waters of Guyun Stone Forest before silently following him.
"So your suggestion is…?" she asked, hesitant.
"Since no one knows how Beisht intends to release Osial, there's no way to counter it directly. Instead, let Osial be released. It might even work out to your advantage."
"You mean…" Ningguang's eyes widened in surprise, her tone carrying a hint of disbelief.
"Miss Ningguang, you're clever enough to figure it out." Luo Qing smirked.
"…" Ningguang fell silent, deep in thought.
Combining Luo Qing's words with what she had witnessed earlier—particularly the mysterious purple ball—she quickly pieced together the truth.
If Luo Qing truly possessed the power to subjugate even a god like Osial…
Then what about herself…?
"Thank you for your help, Mr. Luo Qing," Ningguang finally said, bowing her head slightly.
"No need to thank me," Luo Qing replied dismissively, waving her off. "If you must thank someone, thank Ganyu. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have bothered coming all this way."
"…I'll be sure to thank her properly," Ningguang said softly.
"Oh, and one more thing," Luo Qing added, turning to face her. "Now that everything's settled, I assume you won't be opposing my relationship with Ganyu anymore, will you?"
"…"
