Chapter 313: Genshin Impact's Incense Burner Of Liyue [313]

"This trip is purely personal," Gu Sanqiu explained. "But are there any spots in Mondstadt I might have missed last time?"

"Even though my last visit was rushed, I made sure to hit most of the must-see attractions."

"This time, I just want to relax. So honestly, Angel's Share is my top pick for tonight. Cat's Tail would work too."

Eula nodded in agreement.

Not bad—someone's thinking along the same lines as me. Hmph, this grudge, I'll remember it!

Amber sighed and rubbed her temples. "Aside from drinking, there are plenty of fun things to do in Mondstadt! How about trying some nighttime fishing at Cider Lake?"

"With the gentle evening breeze, Mondstadt's city lights shining in the distance, and the tranquil yet lively ambiance… it's not a bad way to spend the evening."

Gu Sanqiu raised an eyebrow. "I've been fishing for years, but that sounds like such an old man's pastime."

"Old folks wouldn't be fishing at night. They'd be sleeping early, wouldn't they?"

Amber shook her head, exasperated. "I get it, you and your friends all love drinking, but you should pace yourselves. Liyue's wines are usually much stronger, aren't they?"

Unlike Mondstadt's typical cocktails, which were rarely too strong unless specifically requested—save for Kaeya's infamous "Death Afternoon"—Liyue's wine culture leaned heavily on potent spirits. They often aged high-proof liquors for years before serving them, ensuring even a few sips could floor unsuspecting guests.

"Don't worry," Gu Sanqiu assured her. "I didn't bring anything ancient enough to knock everyone out. What I did bring is a fine selection infused with medicinal ingredients. In moderation, it's actually good for your health."

Eula's expression shifted slightly. "Medicinal ingredients? You're not talking about some part of an animal's body, are you?"

Gu Sanqiu looked surprised. "You've heard of those kinds of wines?"

"I remember Angel's Share once bought a barrel from Liyue. It was made with lizard tails and some rare material called Jade Perch pearls, used as a tonic base."

Eula shook her head. "Angel's Share marketed it as 'The Warrior's Wine.' Between its intense appearance and sky-high alcohol content, the name was almost like a dare."

"They had so many customers collapsing after a single glass that the place turned into a madhouse for a while. If the Knights hadn't come to cart off all the drunkards, Angel's Share might've been shut down for disturbing the peace."

Gu Sanqiu sighed, covering his face. Leave it to Master Diluc to have connections that wide. Even medicinal wines made with Jade Perch pearls—a rarity even in Liyue—could end up here. This stuff's not something even the wealthiest Liyuean can casually get their hands on.

"Your food's ready!"

"Thanks, Sara! We'll grab it ourselves."

Amber hurried to fetch the dishes while Eula nudged Gu Sanqiu to bring out the wine so they could start with a drink or two during dinner.

Whenever Gu Sanqiu visited Mondstadt, Kaeya—if he wasn't off somewhere—would inevitably show up to join the fun. As a seasoned drinker, Eula wasn't confident she could keep up with Mondstadt's self-proclaimed "wine connoisseur," so she figured it'd be better to enjoy a few drinks during the meal instead.

"Mondstadt's cuisine doesn't really pair well with Liyue's wines."

Gu Sanqiu laughed softly but still brought out the wine jug. As soon as he uncorked it, a rich, intoxicating aroma wafted across the room.

"What a fragrance! What kind of wine is this?"

"It smells so smooth and rich, but there's also a hint of spicy heat. Definitely a fine wine from Liyue!"

The patrons of the Hunter's Lodge restaurant were captivated by the aroma, but upon noticing the unmistakable figure of a certain Reconnaissance Captain, they quickly abandoned any thoughts of sneaking a taste.

"Eula!"

Amber puffed her cheeks indignantly. "Why are you drinking wine at dinner? Gu Sanqiu is our guest, so I won't argue with him, but you…"

"Oh, come on, it's just one cup. Fine, two cups. Don't ruin my mood over such a fine wine."

Eula clasped her hands together with an exaggerated smile.

Gu Sanqiu calmly set out an ornate set of small, medium, and large cups.

"Pick your poison."

Eula eyed the largest cup, one typically used for draft beer at taverns.

"You're seriously using that for Liyuean wine?"

Gu Sanqiu nodded. "Some absurd business banquets back in Liyue force guests to use these for toasts."

"Hmph, pointless theatrics. Such wasteful treatment of good wine."

Eula snorted but still reached for the largest cup, her choice betraying her heart's desire.

"You're only allowed one cup with that thing!" Amber growled, tugging at Eula's cheeks from both sides as she set the dishes down.

"H-hey! People are watching! Let go, Amber!"

"Oh? So it's fine as long as no one's watching?"

Amber grinned mischievously, cupping Eula's face and rubbing their cheeks together. The faint scent of amber mingled with their laughter.

"You get one cup—just one. Otherwise, I won't stop, got it~?"

"Fine! One cup! This grudge, I'll remember it!"

Eula's face flushed as she pushed Amber away, quickly reverting to her usual frosty expression. She nodded at Gu Sanqiu as if nothing had happened, completely unfazed.

If this keeps up, the Knights of Favonius might show up, and I could end up dragged away for a lecture.

Good thing Eula doesn't have Chongyun's constitution, or I'd get a front-row seat to spontaneous human combustion.

"Ahem. Let's eat."

Feigning seriousness, Gu Sanqiu coughed and motioned for them to start. As much as he wanted to keep watching, he wasn't keen on provoking Eula into unleashing her full arsenal on him later.

That night, Amber left to handle her duties as an Outrider, while Eula and Gu Sanqiu found Kaeya and headed to Angel's Share for drinks.

"This is fantastic—truly the essence of Liyue," Kaeya said, downing half a glass of the potent white wine in one go. "The flavor and aftertaste… utterly enchanting."

Gu Sanqiu watched, brow twitching slightly, as Kaeya drained his drink.

"Just don't get so enchanted that you can't walk straight later. If that happens, we'll have to leave you here."

"Haha! Not a chance. My tolerance is legendary in Mondstadt, as I'm sure everyone knows."

Kaeya raised his glass proudly to toast with them.

Gu Sanqiu immediately spotted the logical flaw.

"By that reasoning, everyone in Mondstadt knows how often you skip work and drink instead. Isn't that what you're really saying, Captain Kaeya?"

Kaeya's smile froze, and Eula stifled a laugh.

To the average Mondstadt citizen, seeing Kaeya "at work" might look like information gathering. But to the Knights of Favonius, Gu Sanqiu's words hit uncomfortably close to the truth.

It was a perfect summary of Kaeya's so-called "working state."
