CHAPTER 135: Just in Time
Huh? A villa? Lian lives here? The thought crossed his mind, but he shook his head. Impossible…
Corvan ignored the boy, entering the building with a solemn expression. He had seen it while landing with the flying sword.
The boy was lying in the garden in a pool of his own blood.
He reached the spot, observing the scene with interest.
At the same time, Rick followed Corvan, one hand under his chin as he murmured, "Are you sure Lian lives here—"
The moment he saw the scene, the relaxed expression on his face vanished, replaced by terror. "Lian!"
He ran at full speed toward the boy, lying on the ground.
He looked dead.
His body seemed to float in a pool of blood. The garden resembled a war-torn battlefield, with blood everywhere.
Rick grabbed Lian's body forcefully, turning him face-up, expecting anything.
Scratches, wounds, injuries, even holes in his body, but nothing.
He was perfectly fine.
In fact, compared to other times, his body appeared strangely healthier, as if all the blood spilled in the garden was not his.
Maybe he fought someone, and the blood here is from his opponent? Rick thought distractedly, shaking Lian's body.
Beside him, Corvan let out a sigh of relief. He could sense it; the boy was alive. Not only that, he had broken through, reaching not just Bronze 5 but also Steel 1.
Interesting, something must have happened here. But it is not my concern. These are kids' matters, he thought, approaching Rick.
"Hey, Lian is fine. He just needs a bit of rest, and he will be back to normal. Stop acting like this."
The panic on Rick's face was visible from afar, making the scene comical.
With those words, Corvan left the garden, using his flying sword to return to the Rune Forge.
"Hurry up and wake him, or you will not make it in time for the event!"
Hearing those words, Rick began slapping his friend.
"Come on, Lian, wake up!!"
After a few minutes of slaps and punches, the boy slowly opened his eyes.
"Hey, Rick, stop, I am awake!"
Lian struggled to his feet, helped by Rick.
Now both were covered in blood.
"What the hell happened??" Rick asked with concern, but at that exact moment—
<Attention! The Monster Hunt Event will begin shortly. All participating students are requested to head to the Central Square. You have one hour left. If you are not present, you will be disqualified.>
Lian turned his head toward the sound, only to stare at the sky, dazed.
"The event is starting?!"
"Yes, that is why I came all the way here. I could not find you anywhere; you did not tell me you moved!" Rick shouted, arms spread wide. "This place is amazing; you should have told me right away!"
"But there is no time for this," he added, his expression a mix of worry and relief. "We need to hurry to join the event; we have little time, and we are far. We have to run!"
Lian looked around, suddenly recalling everything he had been through.
I really thought I would not make it… he thought, a faint smile on his face.
Yet now, he could feel it clearly.
The power his body possessed was incomparable to before, in every way.
Seeing Lian standing still, dazed as he looked at his body, Rick said, "Do not tell me you are thinking about taking a shower, are you? We do not have time for that!" With a motion of his arm, Rick cast a spell.
"Aqua Vivax, Rivo Levis"
A jet of water hit Lian, cleaning the dirt from his body in an instant.
Then another jet of water rushed over Rick, cleaning his body too.
With a fluid motion, he pulled out another set of robes and changed.
"Come on, change. We have to go, now! And on the way, you explain what happened, okay?"
---
The sun was slowly setting, casting a soft orange glow over the academy's central square.
<Attention! The Monster Hunt Event will begin shortly. All participating students are requested to head to the Central Square. Teleportation to the event area will begin in ten minutes.>
"We made it!" Rick was panting. "What a crazy story, though…" His eyes settled on Lian, who was not tired at all.
"I lose sight of you for one day, and you nearly die," he furrowed his brows, then sighed helplessly. "It is a good thing you not only survived but also broke through on both paths. You are a monster now; the event is ours to win. Marcus and his friends can never win; no one can!"
Rick was genuinely happy. Thinking about it, he could also shake off that annoying girl.
Lian simply nodded, his eyes closed as he recalled the system notifications.
Damn, this will be harder than I expected. I did not think the system would go this far… he thought.
While Rick went to find their third member, Lian carefully read the system notifications.

I completed the tutorial early, huh?
Lian had a slight headache. Despite what he had gone through being considered just a tutorial, he had not managed to achieve 100% precision with his mental drawings.
But thanks to finishing the tutorial early, he had still secured the highest evaluation.
Maybe I could have broken the system; unfortunately, there are no maybes in life…
Shaking his head, Lian focused on his new skills.
Let me start with this one; it intrigues me a lot…
