"So you are Andis?"

Inside the main hall of the city lord's mansion, Andis stood in front of the city lord himself, her head lowered in silence. If her husband saw her, he would not even recognize her, seeing how different she looked when she started training under the unknown bald man.

Her voice quivered as Andis went on to talk about her past and her abusive husband. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she said, "I never want to feel that helpless again, ever in my life."

"Then how about I give you a chance to cultivate and achieve immortality?" Xu Shang silently watched her speak about her past experience and waited until she stopped before throwing her a bone.

Andis froze before looking at the man in disbelief and doubt. "Really?"

"There is no way I would joke about something like this." He waved his hand, and the book placed on the table flew towards her. Andis reached out to take the book with trembling hands.

The roar caught Andis's attention, who was a few steps away from the scene. She turned and saw the thorny tail of the ape wrapping around the instructor's neck and paused a little.

The spear in her hands stabbed a Nightflame wolf while she watched the man who trained her die slowly in front of her eyes without showing any intentions of saving him.

She saw him looking back at her and caught sight of the same emotions she saw in his eyes when she left with Gong Ho.

"Instructor!" The soldiers nearby shouted in panic but did not rush to save the man as well. In the distance, Gong Ho watched everything from the top of the wall before disappearing with a golden flash.

Andis threw the carcass of the wolf away and noticed the ape focusing on the dead instructor and rushed towards the ape.

"Earth-shattering spear." Using its lack of awareness, she stabbed the spear into the ape's neck and pushed it in until it came out the other side.
