Global Apocalypse: The True Young Master Awakens and Tames the Villain

Chapter 42

Liu Jin’an’s struggle had been in vain. Compared to the strength of the little Pomeranian and an adult man, there was truly a huge gap.

“Woof woof woof!”

Huang Dabei screamed anxiously from underneath.

“Quiet,” the man’s voice was pleasant. The slightly magnetic tone made Liu Jin’an’s ears tingle. “Xiao Huang, where did you kidnap Xiao Bai? His hair is so clean. Who raised the puppy?”

The language was authentic Chinese.

Huang Dabei tried his best to raise his head and recognized the man as the good person who often fed him. Subconsciously, he wagged his tail.

No, now wasn’t the time to please the other party. The boss was still in his hands!

Huang Dabei struggled to pull the man’s trouser leg with his two front paws, his puppy eyes wet and full of flattery.

The man smiled. “Why are you so afraid that I’ll bully your wife? But I think you two are male. Is it possible that Huang Dabei is also gay?”

Liu Jin’an: “…”

If he hadn’t been worried about offending the man and putting his life in danger, he would have bitten him long ago!

The man seemed to like dogs very much. He carried dog food with him and poured some into the palm of his hand.

The aroma of food lingered in the air, and a dog’s nose was the most sensitive. Liu Jin’an had inherited this heightened sense after transforming into a Pomeranian.

When he realized that what attracted his attention was a pile of dog food, he was so frightened that he quickly turned his little puppy head away.

What a joke—he was being fed dog food!

“So picky about food?” The man’s tone held a hint of complaint. He stroked Liu Jin’an’s soft fur. “Let’s go. I’ll take you to eat something good.”

With that, he picked up Liu Jin’an and strode in a certain direction.

Huang Dabei quickly followed, whining and whimpering in an attempt to awaken the man’s conscience.

It was all in vain.

Liu Jin’an was carried away by the man without any resistance.

Tired of struggling, he simply laid down, his puppy eyes rolling as he observed the defences in the hospital.

He couldn’t find any breakthroughs.

However, he did notice that the man holding him seemed to be highly respected among the drug lord team.

The journey was smooth, with many people nodding at the man along the way.

The man brought the two Pomeranians, one yellow and one white, back to the staff dormitory.

He took two portions of jerky out of the refrigerator and waved them in front of them.

Huang Dabei stared at the jerky, his mouth watering, unable to resist the temptation.

Although Liu Jin’an also had an uncontrollable desire for food after transforming into a dog, he had no intention of eating.

His transformation could only last for half an hour. He knew how long it had been and saw that the time was almost up.

If he didn’t get out soon, he risked being exposed.

Glancing at Huang Dabei, who was completely captivated by the jerky, he realized he couldn’t rely on the silly dog and had to depend on himself.

The little white furry ball moved quietly toward the door.

Two meters, one meter—he was almost out.

“Ouch?”

The next moment, he was flying into the air. Someone had grabbed him by the scruff of his neck.

“You’re in such a hurry to leave, little one. Did I not entertain you well?”

The man’s broad palms pressed against his two hind legs, mercifully leaving him with a palm-sized foothold, but he had no intention of letting him go.

The transformation could only last for another two minutes.

Liu Jin’an had to make a last-ditch effort.

He bit the man on the arm.

The man winced in pain, but instead of letting go as Liu Jin’an had hoped, he used his other arm to imprison him against his chest.

The little Pomeranian was no match for a human.

His fangs could no longer touch flesh, and he could only glare angrily at the man with his round puppy eyes, baring his teeth in a show of ferocity.

The man obviously wasn’t intimidated. Not only did he refuse to let go, but he hugged him tighter and tighter.

Come on, he couldn’t breathe!

After two minutes had passed, the transformation failed, and Liu Jin’an instantly shifted from a small white dumpling into his human form.

Without wasting any time, he turned around, folded the man’s arms behind his back, and captured him.

“Dabei, close the doors and windows,” he ordered. They couldn’t risk being discovered.

Huang Dabei had still been nibbling on the dried meat at the time. Upon hearing Liu Jin’an’s command, he reluctantly abandoned the delicious treat and followed the instruction.

“Be gentle; my arm is about to break,” the man said.

Even though he was being restrained, with his life entirely in Liu Jin’an’s hands, his tone remained calm and unhurried.

This time, it was Liu Jin’an’s turn to tighten his grip, pinching the man’s neck. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill you?”

“Little Pomeranian is quite vindictive,” the man muttered, before adding, “Kill me, kill me, and you won’t be able to leave here.”

“Do you want to test that theory?” Liu Jin’an’s voice turned cold. “No matter whether we can leave or not, I do know one thing: you’ll die before us.”

His eyes were icy, radiating a warning. He couldn’t tolerate the man’s carefree, rogue attitude. If the other guy wanted to play that game, then Liu Jin’an had to be even more unyielding.

“Fine, fine,” the man relented. “Let go of me first, and I’ll cooperate with you.”

Hearing this, Liu Jin’an stepped back slightly but still kept a firm grip on the man’s wrist to ensure he couldn’t escape.

The man glanced meaningfully at the blue tattoo on Liu Jin’an’s wrist before his gaze travelled upward. “You’re quick to talk about killing and violence. Such barbarity—what a waste for such a beautiful face.”

Liu Jin’an felt the man’s gaze linger on him, sticky like a colourful yet venomous snake. Though striking in appearance, such a snake would undoubtedly strike when least expected. He couldn’t help but feel a chill.

“Likewise,” Liu Jin’an retorted. For some reason, he thought of Duan Haiping. If it were him, he would probably respond similarly. “Your eyes are quite beautiful too. Maybe I should prepare a jade exhibition stand for them?”

The man shook his head with a smirk. “I think the eyes belong right where they are.”

Liu Jin’an smirked in return. “So do yours.”

The man’s eyes glimmered with a hint of interest. “Little Pomeranian, you’re more entertaining than I expected. You’ve saved me from some dull tests.”

“From the very moment I saw you, I knew you weren’t dogs. My power is perception—no illusion can fool me,” the man explained, his lips curling into a self-assured smile.

This revelation caught Liu Jin’an off guard. If the man had known all along that Huang Dabei wasn’t a dog, why hadn’t he exposed them? What was his motive?

“Don’t overthink it, sweetheart,” the man said, as though reading his mind. “I’ll answer your questions myself.”

“Let me introduce myself. My name is Zhao Simo. You can call me Momo. Or, better yet, you can call me ‘dear.’ I prefer the latter.”

So, he was Zhao Simo.

Liu Jin’an narrowed his eyes at the frivolous man before him, his wariness growing. He didn’t dare underestimate him.

He knew Zhao Simo wasn’t as simple or as playful as he seemed.

If he were, he wouldn’t have risen through the ranks of a drug lord gang, much less become the future leader of the Northwest Military Region, earning fame across the world.

“Mr. Zhao,” Liu Jin’an began, releasing the man’s wrist and speaking in an even tone, “we’re here this time in hopes of gaining your assistance to rescue the hostages and minimize casualties…”

“Little Pomeranian, I don’t care about the hostages’ lives or deaths,” Zhao Simo interrupted, raising an eyebrow as he rubbed his slightly reddened wrist. “That has nothing to do with me.”

He tilted his head, his expression amused. “I’m much more interested in you than in them.”

“What’s your name? Or should I just call you ‘baby’ instead?”
