Chapter 496: The Last Memory Spheres ( 7 )
Axis couldn't help but complain about Shane's lack of attention to this small world. He would only visit to plant various seeds or get her to raise some pets.
It was quite disappointing but since her connection to Shane was still present, she knew that he was still alive that was the most important thing since if Shane died, she had no idea what would happen to this place that only he could access.
Anyway, after tending to the garden, Axis flew to the newly expanded Fairy Glade, where several Forest Sprites—tiny, glowing beings resembling miniature elves—had recently appeared.
These playful creatures had taken up residence among the flowerbeds and mushroom patches, and Axis had appointed herself their caretaker.
They had appeared a few weeks ago and she felt that their population here would really grow if Shane got stronger and stronger.
Indeed, with her connection to Shane, she knew that the sudden expansion of the land was due to Shane gaining more power or at the very least, it seemed related to that.
"Now, now, don't fight over the honeydew!" she scolded as two sprites squabbled over a droplet of golden nectar.
Her stern tone quickly turned to laughter as she conjured a small vial filled with more nectar. "There's enough for everyone!"
Axis spent the next hour playing with the sprites, teaching them how to nurture the flowers and care for the younger plants.
She enjoyed their company, even if they were mischievous at times.
She actually had no idea that other mystical beings would appear here. She thought that, at most, the mana within this place would just become richer.
She didn't expect that she would have such companions while waiting for Shane to reappear.
As the day waned, Axis ventured to the Mountain Range. To be exact, it was the expanded version of the Mountain Range as there were previously some hills and mountains here before but it was very limited.
This time, however, the mountain range wasn't just filled with various trees, plants, herbs, and sprites. She even found a cave while exploring this place!
The caves here were rich with glowing crystals, veins of precious metals, and rare stones that were filled with magical energy.
It wasn't that long when she found out about this place and Shane still had no idea about it.
"He'll be shocked when he sees this." Axis grinned as she ensured that the cave was still there.
Of course, she also came here to get some of these stones or crystals.
Soon, she carefully extracted a chunk of red mana crystal from the wall.
"Looks good…"
Well, she had made it her mission to gather resources that Shane could use when he next visited.
Anyway, there weren't any other creatures living within this cave aside from the mystical vines that seemed to have sentience…
Unfortunately, even Axis couldn't talk to these harmless vines.
Anyway, she often spent time ensuring the balance of this place's ecosystem, knowing that everything in the realm was interconnected. So it would be really great if Shane could visit this place and harvest some of its resources.
Then, as she thought that today would just be the same routine, something happened as the night fell, the entire dimension glowed with a soft, otherworldly light. Continue reading stories on empire
The World Tree at the center emitted a soothing luminescence, and the sky above was suddenly filled with stars that she had never seen before.
Axis then settled on a leaf of the World Tree, gazing out at the paradise that was being shown to her.
"What's going on? Is there another change about to happen?"
She thought of Shane and felt her connection with him…
"Ohh… His vitality seemed really high… Something good must've happened." She mused.
Well, she often wondered about Shane's adventures in the outside world since Shane mentioned to her what was happening outside.
She knew he was battling against undead creatures that were destroying his world. This was the reason why she was aiming to make this place really comfortable for Shane, as she believed that this place would be his safe haven even for a bit.
"I'll make this place perfect for him," Axis promised, clutching a small pendant Shane had once given her—a token of his gratitude for her loyalty.
Then, just like what she had expected, Axis sensed that something monumental was about to happen. She could feel the dimension shifting subtly as if it were preparing for another transformation.
Rumble~
With a deep rumble, the earth suddenly stretched outward. Axis gasped as the horizon seemed to pull away, the edges of the realm started dissolving into streams of golden light before solidifying into new terrain.
It was such a magical sight and Axis couldn't contain her excitement.
"It's happening again! Hihi… This place has become really huge! Fairy Queen chose the right man!"
Soon, hills rose in the distance and it was filled with grass that glimmered in light as if it was filled with dew.
Axis wasn't exactly sure but it also felt like the mountain range grew taller… It seemed that its peaks were even capped with fresh snow.
It was truly a magnificent sight!
However, the surprise didn't end there.
From the mountains, a new river emerged, its crystal-clear waters streamed down the rocky slopes before snaking gracefully through the valleys.
"Oh my…" Axis was excited to see another source of water.
The river had a gentle flow adding a soothing melody to the surroundings.
Indeed, the sound of the streaming water felt really relaxing to her ears.
Axis then followed its path, marveling as it carved through the land, forming small ponds and streams that breathed life into every corner of the realm.
As the transformation continued, Axis noticed movement in the newly formed river.
Her eyes lit up after realizing what was going on.
Tiny fishes appeared, darting through the water filled with life… Some had glowing fins, while others emitted soft melodies as they moved…
"This place… It's becoming the true Fairy World!" Axis exclaimed as she felt that this land's future was truly immense!
Then above her, the skies were suddenly filled with birds!
Then, on the ground, small critters began to emerge—glowing bugs, soft-furred mammals, and even ethereal butterflies with beautiful wings started to appear…
Axis's excitement reached its peak as she saw this. Now, her world doesn't feel desolate at all.
She couldn't help but imagine how Shane would react once he saw this place again.
Axis clapped her hands in delight, watching as the once-quiet sanctuary came alive.
"This is amazing!" she exclaimed…
The most magical moment came when a group of mystical deer stepped gracefully from the forest. Their antlers sparkled like crystals and they were incredibly rare even within the previous Fairy World in her memories!
One of them, larger and more majestic than the others, bowed its head toward the World Tree as if offering its reverence before running back to the mountain.
To be exact, all the other mystical creatures have paid their respect to the World Tree first before returning to the forest.
"This place isn't just a pocket dimension anymore," Axis whispered, her eyes wide with wonder. "It's becoming a world—a real, living fairy world!"
The transformation seemed to stabilize, and Axis let out a breath of relief.
She hovered near the World Tree, gazing over the upgraded realm that now surrounded her.
However, just as she thought the changes were complete, the ground began to shake violently…
"This…" Axis had no idea but outside this realm, Shane had just completed his absorption of the final Memory Sphere containing his last moments during his stay in the Fairy Realm's Invasion Apocalypse!
Indeed, Shane already completed the process of absorbing the 25th Memory Sphere, allowing him to regain all the memories he had previously forgotten due to his own arrangements…
Anyway, Axis realized that an earthquake just rippled through the realm. She had no idea why this was happening but it was shaking the newly formed mountains and sending waves across the river.
Axis clung to one of the World Tree's branches as she waited for the earthquake to stop… Well, she wanted to feel the earthquake, so she didn't fly…
"What is it this time?" She muttered as she tried to look for any changes.
Then, as the tremors subsided, a shadow fell over the land.
At first, Axis felt that it was just cloud… However, she remembered that there hadn't been any clouds before!
She was excited to finally have some clouds above them but she was stunned as soon as she looked up! Her jaw simply dropped in awe!
Above the realm, a massive flying island floated into view!
A floating island that could only be found in the real Fairy Realm was finally here!
She then swiftly flew and planned to visit the island to see what was up there…
However, as she tried going up, she was suddenly blocked by a mystical force in mid-air!
