Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead

Chapter 947, Fortress Infantry_2

Having many people to distribute the pressure is a good thing.

"Thank you, Mr. Fu Lei."

"Don't just stand there, go search the bodies to see if there's anything we can use, then we'll leave this place. There's a time limit on our mission," Fang Hao continued.

"Oh, okay!" Kim Zhi He complied and immediately ran towards the farthest bodies and began to search them.

Not bad, she didn't exhibit any fear of the corpses.

The two of them searched all the bodies.

Besides some blue equipment, they didn't find anything else.

Standing together, Fang Hao went on to say, "Before we set out, let's exchange information. What have you found so far?"

"Ah? Information? After I arrived here, I saw a checkpoint. After I got past it, they chased me, and I ended up here," Kim Zhi He earnestly replied.

"Then talk about that checkpoint."

She picked up a stick and drew a simple map of the terrain on the ground.

Her lines were straight, and she had a good sense of distance.

Seems like she has some talent in art.

An ordinary person can't draw locations as accurately as she did.

"Right, the location is here. Some chased after me, so there should still be several archers left over there."

Fang Hao nodded, indicating that he understood.

He then shared the intelligence he had gathered, "You can identify the factions by their clothing; our rather shabby attire indicates we are part of the resistance."

"Oh, I know that!"

"I encountered some resistance NPC soldiers, and it seems they won't join us, but they'll give out something called a recruitment token, which can be used to recruit troops," as he said this, Fang Hao took out a token and handed it to her.

She took it and examined it closely.

"Wow, Mr. Fu Lei, you are so amazing, having already made contact with the NPCs," she exclaimed.

After checking the attributes, she handed the token back.

Fang Hao took the token back, and asked, "What kind of troops do you have in your possession?"

"Seventh-rank infantry, eighth-rank archers, and mages."

Fang Hao nodded, those troop ranks were already considered above average among transmigrators.

She must have an edge in some aspect; actually, her troops weren't that bad either.

"Alright, let's go."

After they discussed their plans, Kim Zhi He swapped for a blue one-handed sword.

Then they continued their exploration.

What they needed to do was first find the 'Black Mist Fortress' mentioned by the NPC. As for what to do afterward, they would decide when the time came.

The shrubs were still dense, but with the trampling of two groups of people, a path had emerged.

They could follow it, eliminating the need to swing weapons to cut through the undergrowth.

After approximately another twenty minutes of walking...

Kim Zhi He suddenly pulled on Fang Hao's arm, signaling that there was an issue ahead.

The two of them slowed down, trying to minimize the rustling of the surrounding bushes as they slowly approached.

Soon, they could hear voices conversing in the distance.

"What kind of crappy mission is this, why should we be the ones to guard this checkpoint?"

"Enough, the mission is only for an hour. Once we're done, we can go back to earn points, and then look for other tasks."

"I thought we would get to team up with some of the people on the leaderboard, but it turns out we haven't seen even one."

"What are you dreaming of? There are so many transmigrators, how could they all be in one fortress? I reckon there are probably around a hundred and eighty fortresses spread across the mission, dispersing the population."

"It would be nice if a couple of resistance fighters came by so we could PK a bit to kill time."

Through the dense shrubbery, they could see a dirt path in the distance, as well as stakes and caltrops set up in the middle of the path.

That must be the checkpoint Kim Zhi He mentioned.

At the checkpoint stood two groups of people.

One was the regular fortress archers holding bows and arrows, and the other group, of more than twenty people, both men and women, also dressed in the guise of the defending faction, but all of them had a Book of Lords hanging at their waist.

It appeared that the defending transmigrators were quick; they had already made their way here.

"Why are there no resistance transmigrators around here? Killing them would earn us points."

"These NPCs said that some soldiers went after a woman. Once they catch her and bring her back, we can also have a little fun teasing her, making the time pass more quickly."

The group laughed and chatted away, showing no sign of intending to defend or set up any preparations.

"What should we do?" Kim Zhi He whispered quietly to Fang Hao.

Fang Hao looked outside.

He pondered in his mind for a moment for a strategy.

The battle was inevitable, the only thing was to try not to expose the matter of my own Divinity.

Not to mention Kim Zhi He beside me, there might already be players eliminated and watching the live broadcast from outside.

If I were to unleash a move like divine silken threads from heaven, it could possibly bring trouble once word got out.

These transmigrator tasks are linked one after another, so they shouldn't be more difficult than what transmigrators themselves can handle.

After thinking it through, I said softly, "Cover me!"

"Huh? Cover what?"

Before Kim Zhi He could finish speaking, the man beside her flung out his hand, and several figures burst forth.

Five Skeleton Warriors and one Skeleton with Bat Wings.

Six figures burst out of the dense forest and charged directly towards the enemy checkpoint.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

The NPC archers reacted first, beginning to shoot arrows.

The transmigrators were a step slower but also prepared themselves for battle.

Braving the arrows, the Demon Dolls rapidly closed in.

A warrior Demon Doll leapt over the wooden barricade, and its Longsword came slashing down upon a golden-haired transmigrator's head.

The golden-haired transmigrator, with a horrified face, held up his sword in defense.

Clang~!

Amidst the sound of clashing metal.

The transmigrator only felt a great force coming through, and the Longsword was knocked flying out of his hands.

As the Skeleton's second sword came down again, crack! The blade split the skull open.

Blood splattered everywhere, and the body slowly fell to the ground.

[Killed a Lord, gained 50 points.]

Meanwhile, the other Demon Dolls, with an unstoppable momentum, charged directly into the transmigrators' ranks, their swords slashing and cutting.

All manner of Skills clashed and pursued, taking down the now-panicked transmigrators.

The combat abilities of the transmigrators were weak, while the Demon Dolls in Fang Hao's hands were all made of heroic-grade bones.

Although in a state of God's Presence, the divine consciousness was evenly distributed among the Dolls.

Yet the demonstrated combat power was still above that of the transmigrators.

Pu!

The cleric Doll thrust its sword viciously into a transmigrator's mouth, who whimpered in pain for a moment, his pupils beginning to dilate.

Bang!

The last transmigrator fell heavily to the ground, and silence returned to the entire area.

[Killed a Lord, gained 50 points.]

The Demon Dolls quickly dispersed to check the surroundings.

After confirming there were no dangers or traps, they headed back to the dense forest.

...

Rustling!!

The six Demon Dolls returned, and Fang Hao promptly collected them, vanishing from sight.

Whereas Kim Zhi He was still wide-eyed, looking at the corpses scattered in the distance.

She suddenly turned her head, glanced at him, and then back at the fortress and corpses.

"My God, how is this possible."

"Don't just stand there. Go see if there's any good loot," Fang Hao took the lead in stepping out of the bushes.

Kim Zhi He immediately followed, entering the area behind the checkpoint together.

The bodies of the transmigrators wouldn't vanish, but the dropped equipment and bodies couldn't be used.

This must be an issue with the task mechanics.

The transmigrators weren't truly dead, so the equipment and the Book of Lords were not considered dropped items.

Fumbling through the bodies.

Finally, Fang Hao found a Token 'Recruitment Order (Hundred Men)' on one of the bodies.

That was something of value at least.

Fang Hao's spirits lifted, and he searched the bodies even quicker when suddenly an exclamation from Kim Zhi He came from beside him, "Mr. Fu Lei, there's a hint over here, check to see if it's the place to use the Recruitment Order."

Looking up, I saw her standing near a flagpole without a symbol.

Flapping in the wind with a rustling sound.

Fang Hao walked over, and a message displayed.

[Do you wish to use the Recruitment Token?]
