Chapter 59: Chapter 59: New Arrival At Xia Jing Academy, Different Atmosphere

Marsh tidied up briefly.

With a flick of his hand, a talisman flew out, transforming into a teleportation array.

Marsh and Bai Yiyuan stepped into the array, and in a flash, they vanished under the dazzling light.

As the last rays of light faded, the cabin was once again cloaked in darkness.

David sighed softly, silently leaving and closing the door behind him.

The street outside was eerily quiet, with only the faintest whispers of the night wind.

No one would have suspected that in this humble, seemingly dilapidated house, two students from Xia Jing Academy had lived here for two consecutive years. One of them was the national champion.

David gazed in the direction of Xia Jing, his eyes full of hope.

"Come on, kid," he murmured, his words laden with kindness and encouragement.

Marsh, on the other hand, felt the teleportation was far more disorienting than the teleportation stone he'd used that morning. This journey, though still using teleportation magic, felt like it took much longer.

The Shenxia Empire was vast, and the distance between Xia Jing Academy and Xihai City was enormous. Even with teleportation, the journey would take time.

Broken streams of light flickered before Marsh's eyes, presenting fragmented and surreal images. He felt as though time and space were swirling in a chaotic dance, making him feel unbalanced and uneasy.

Despite the discomfort, he didn't react outwardly, though his face turned slightly pale.

It wasn't until ten seconds later that Marsh's feet finally landed on solid ground. The discomfort vanished immediately.

"Impressive endurance," Bai Yiyuan commented, his voice tinged with approval.

The contrast between Xiajing City and Xihai City was stark, especially at night. As the capital of the Shenxia Empire, Xiajing City was alive and vibrant, even at this late hour. The city was illuminated by countless lights, with the moonlight serving as a mere complement to the brightness of the city.

"Xia Jing Academy," Bai Yiyuan said as they approached a massive gate.

The gate stood tens of meters high and hundreds of meters wide, exuding an imposing aura. The sheer size and grandeur of the gate left Marsh speechless. It was a symbol of strength and refinement, with an air of authority that seemed almost alive.

Marsh was struck by the aura emanating from the gate—he felt both awed and intimidated. It was as if the gate itself was a living entity, and it demanded respect.

A sense of danger lingered in the air, and Marsh couldn't help but feel that if he wasn't careful, something dire could happen.

Bai Yiyuan noticed Marsh's reaction and spoke calmly, "This gate serves as both a portal and a weapon. Even the strongest experts would pay a steep price if they attempted to break through."

With a reassuring pat on Marsh's shoulder, he added, "Come on, let's go."

As they neared the gate, Marsh felt a subtle pressure—like an invisible force inspecting his identity. The door opened silently before them.

The academy wasn't as quiet as Marsh had expected. As they walked through the grounds, he could feel waves of energy pulsing around him.

"Those are students practicing their skills," Bai Yiyuan explained casually. Despite his prestigious status, Bai Yiyuan was patient and kind with Marsh, answering his questions without hesitation.

Marsh, absorbing the information, asked, "Do all skills need to be practiced?"

"Yes," Bai Yiyuan replied, "In addition to the natural skills granted by one's profession, many other skills must be honed through practice. The more you practice, the stronger they become."

This response matched Marsh's assumptions. It seemed like skills, no matter how powerful, required time and effort to reach their full potential.

Marsh raised another question, "Is simply using them enough?"

Bai Yiyuan smiled, "It's not so simple. Some skills are only effective when combined with proper practice and understanding. Just using them won't make them stronger."

Marsh nodded, understanding that developing skills wasn't just about usage, but also about refining them.

Bai Yiyuan continued, "This kind of knowledge is best learned through experience and formal teaching. The teachers at the academy will explain it in much more detail."

Marsh understood. Technical knowledge was far too complex to be conveyed in just a few words, and it would be better to learn it from experts at the academy.

The energy fluctuations surrounding them were constant, waves of power emanating from every corner of the academy. From time to time, bursts of light would illuminate the night sky as students honed their skills.

Marsh observed with a growing sense of respect. These students worked tirelessly, even in the middle of the night. It was clear that Xia Jing Academy demanded hard work and dedication.

As he reflected on his own skills, Marsh felt a twinge of frustration. He couldn't practice as freely as the others—his own abilities required more effort and resources.

The academy was vast. It took a long walk before they arrived at their destination.

"This is the residential area," Bai Yiyuan explained. "You'll stay here for now. Someone will come to explain the details to you later."

He gestured to the surrounding area, which appeared to be a large, sprawling complex with various buildings. "In Xia Jing Academy, most things can be traded, but it's always based on mutual consent. There's no forced buying or selling."

As they approached the entrance to the residential area, someone quickly ran over to them. Upon seeing Bai Yiyuan, the person bowed respectfully.

"I've seen Lord Bai," the person said, clearly recognizing the prestige of the man before them.

Bai Yiyuan nodded in acknowledgment. "I'm leaving him in your care. I must go now."

"Make sure he gets proper rest. Tomorrow, you will take him to meet the other instructors."

Bai Yiyuan's presence was so commanding that even the most important figures in the academy treated him with the utmost respect. It was evident that his status was unparalleled in the Shenxia Empire.

Marsh remained calm, his expression unchanged, and his tone neutral. "Alright."

His simple response startled the person next to him. Most people would be overawed by Bai Yiyuan's status, but Marsh spoke so coolly, without any hint of deference. However, Bai Yiyuan simply nodded and left, disappearing into the shadows without a word.

The person tasked with overseeing Marsh didn't dare to delay. They quickly addressed him, "You must be Marsh, correct?"

Marsh nodded again, his tone still as neutral as ever. "Yes."

The person hesitated for a moment, feeling uncomfortable with Marsh's cool demeanor. However, they didn't dare press further.

"Where would you like to stay?" they asked, eager to move on from the awkward moment. "We have several options for you."

The residential area at Xia Jing Academy was large and offered a variety of accommodations. There were different types of housing available: four-person dormitories, two-person dormitories, single dorm rooms, detached villas, and even villas with training grounds.

Each option came with its own price and amenities, offering something for everyone, depending on their needs and resources.

Marsh thought for a moment, already feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the academy. This was just the beginning.
