Lukas mentally clicked his tongue.

Still, it was too late for regrets. His only choice now, was to kill the damned thing.

The sound of steel clashing with steel eang through the dark stone walls.

'It's hard.'

Most Devils were born with a strange exoskeletal armor that made not only for extra protection, but also to streamline their bodies and allow more dexterous and agile movements.

Despite having exoskeletons however, the Devils also had a skeletal framework. Their biology was strange.

When his blade cut at the hard exoskeleton, he was only able to leave a small gash.

That Devil locked eyes with him.

Then it stretched its arm behind and pulled an enormous bone sword out of its spine.

The sword was made up of dozens of segments that aligned and straightened as he drew it out of its biological sheath.

And then, the blade ignited.

Feeling the wicked sear of the blade Lukas' face paled.

But he couldn't dodge it now.

At least, that was what his opponent would think.

A look of extreme focus on his face, Lukas took in a deep breath.

The world seemed to slow down even more.

His sword and his body became one and danced through the air.

A series of light flashes burst out into a beautiful blooming flower.

The {Winged Devil Calvary} shot back, and crashed into a wall.

Eyes glowing and his skin steaming, Lukas sneered and huffed as he shot towards the Devil.

Infuriated at having been pushed back, the Devil let out a furious roar and began swinging its blade wildly.

Turning into a while blitz, Lukas dodged with extreme dexterity.

No matter how strong you are, or how powerful your attacks, it would matter little to nothing if they could not hit the enemy.

That was the principle Lukas applied.

He was just too fast. Far too fast for the Devil's weapon of mass destruction to singe a hair on his head.

Still, the same could also be said for him.

Although he could dodge a lot, he was also unable to to close the gap to deal real damage to the blasted thing.

He frowned and began muttering, weaving a spell into existence.

A magic circle bloomed behind him.

Dozens of swords of pure light manifested around him and began shooting at the Devil from all sides.

Although it was huge, the Devil was surprisingly agile for its size.

It twisted and turned, weaving and ducking under the hanging bridges as it swung its bone sword that had extended like a whip at him.

Dodging and parrying, Lukas kept his distance.

They were both testing the waters, gauging how powerful their opponent was whilst trying to find any weaknesses.

Lukas' eyes widened when the whip-like bone sword suddenly wrapped around his waist like a snake.

"Die!" The Devil roared as it twisted its hand and swung down.

"Cra—"

With a loud bang, Lukas found himself crashing into a bridge, crushing it completely.

The Devils standing on it were sent spiraling into the darkness below while he was slammed into a second bridge.

He let out a pained groan, but he was not left to wallow for long, as the next moment, several sharp blades were aimed at his throat.

With a furious roar, he shot up.

His blade and his body flashed as several limbs were sent flying through the air.

Then their heads followed.

With a loud crash, Femus, the {Winged Devil Calvary} crashed into the bridge, destroying it as well and sending them both into the darkness.

Wings flapping the Devils wing its sword at him.

Flipping his body nimbly, Lukas took advantage the force of the swing to shoot towards a wall and grab onto a rocky protrusion.

He exerted some force into his arms and shot back up.

Femus grunted as he flapped his wings and shot back up in hot pursuit.

A thick cloud of pitch-black Devil Essence swirled behind the flying Devil.

The bone sword ignited with orange flames again.

This time, the Devil swung despite there being a fair bit of distance between them.

His senses screaming at the incoming danger,

Lukas twisted hso body unnaturally to avoid the incoming sword wave of condensed Devil Essence mixed into sword intent and flames.

A surprisingly deadly combo.

Lukas cursed as the Devil appeared before him a split second later, sword swinging.

He brought up his blade to parry, but he was knocked off balance.

The bone sword wrapped around his arm and with a tank, the Devil swung him against the opposite wall.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Several bangs resounded over and over again as his body was slapped against the wall.

A mocking, guttural laugh came from the Devil's throat.

"What a joke." It said as it prepared to swing again.

The bone sword was tugged, this time, not from the handle, but from the tip.

The dust cleared up to reveal Lukas, his eyes burning with a terribly suppressed fury.

He pulled, dragging the Devil towards him.

Lukas had a rather athletic build. Not too muscular, but definitely not skinny. His muscles were lean and healthy, and he was tall. His features were even more accentuated by his dashing armor and even more dashing looks.

Right now however, his face in disarray and his armor, face and fair were covered in dust and rubble.

He was bleeding from a gash on his temple, and his lips were covered in a faint layer of crimson.

Compared to him, Femus the {Winged Devil Calvary} was a beef stick. A bundle of compressed muscles packed beneath an enchanted exosteleton made from an enchanted steel-like composite material.

With this difference in statures and builds, it would make no sense why Lukas, now properly enveloped— no, consumed by his rage, wouydlam his bare fist into the Devil's skull, nearly shattered his entire arm in the process.

However, Lukas was no weakling.

The power in the punch created a massive shockwave that caused the walls around them to crack and splint into uneven pieces of rubble.

The Devil's hot back and smashed into the wall on the opposite end.

With a snarl, Lukas shot after its flying body, following up with a nasty two-footed kick that buried the Devil in deeper.

Femus struggled to pull itself out, but Lukas clenched his fist and slammed his broken arm into the Devil's face again,

"You! Motherfu—!'
