God Of Void

Chapter 4: Eida

The blistering desert wind howled through the dunes as Boruto Uzumaki moved like a shadow across the sands. His cloak fluttered with each step, revealing the glint of his blade — a sleek sword strapped to his waist. The weapon pulsed faintly with chakra, a manifestation of his relentless training and experiences as a rogue ninja.

Boruto had grown stronger — years spent hunted, fighting alone, and sharpening his instincts had turned him into a warrior . Yet despite his strength, the darkness spreading across the world felt... unsettling.

"If this is Code's doing... he's gotten stronger than I thought." Boruto's grip tightened on his sword.

The charred ruins of a settlement soon came into view. Crumbled walls, blackened corpses, and molten glass scattered the earth. The scent of scorched stone lingered in the air.

Something's still here…

--

A low, guttural growl echoed through the desolate landscape. The shadows shifted as a towering symbiote-infested beast emerged from the rubble — a monstrous hybrid resembling a giant scorpion fused with a jackal, its body twisted with blackened tendrils slithering across its limbs like living chains.

The beast's glowing red eyes locked onto Boruto.

With a bloodcurdling screech, it lunged.

Boruto's sword gleamed as he sidestepped effortlessly, his movements sharp and calculated. With one swift motion, his blade carved through the beast's clawed limb, severing it cleanly.

Yet instead of falling, the writhing symbiote tendrils stitched the limb back together almost instantly. The beast lashed its tail, coated in abyssal spikes.

Boruto didn't flinch. With a burst of chakra, he vanished from sight — Flying Thunder God — and appeared directly above the beast.

"You're done."

Boruto's sword gleamed with crackling blue lightning as he slashed downward — a perfect stroke that carved straight through the beast's chest.

The beast writhed violently, screeching in agony — but instead of dying, the black tendrils twitched and reformed once again.

"It's regenerating... but not fast enough."

Boruto closed his eyes, focusing his chakra into his blade. The sword began to glow with an intense aura — Rasengan Chakra Infusion — an advanced technique he'd mastered in solitude.

With one swift motion, Boruto drove the blade directly into the beast's core. The abyssal tendrils writhed violently before exploding into black ash, leaving only scorched earth behind.

Boruto exhaled slowly. "...Not bad"

Back in Konoha, Eida sat in her luxurious quarters, her chin resting in her palm. Despite her ability to see almost anything with her Senrigan, her mind kept wandering to one person — Draven.

Even with her all-seeing eye, she couldn't fully perceive him — only glimpses of shadowed outlines and flickering darkness. No face, no details... just an unnerving presence that seemed to whisper from the void.

"What is he hiding...?"

Her thoughts drifted to Kawaki. Their relationship — once something she had clung to for meaning — had grown cold. Kawaki had become distant, harsh, and sometimes violent. If Daemon hadn't been there, things might have gone too far.

Eida stared at her reflection.

"I deserve more than this..."

"I'm going," Eida announced suddenly.

"What?" Daemon blinked, yawning as he stretched.

"I'm heading out," Eida said firmly.

Daemon's lazy expression sharpened. "You're not going alone."

"I can handle myself," Eida said dismissively.

"Yeah?" Daemon grinned darkly. "And what if Kawaki finds out you're sneaking off?"

"I don't care," Eida said coldly. "He hasn't cared about me in years. I need answers... and I'm finding Draven."

Daemon's expression shifted. For all his childish antics, there was a rare seriousness in his gaze now. "Fine. I'm coming with you."

---

The sand village had barely begun to recover from the first attack when word arrived — more symbiote beasts had been spotted advancing toward the desert borders.

Inside the Sand Village's strategy room, Konohamaru, Sarada, Mitsuki, and Kawaki stood before a map covered in marked locations.

"We've confirmed multiple sightings," Konohamaru said grimly. "These creatures aren't just attacking randomly — they're targeting outposts and supply routes."

"Whatever this is," Mitsuki added, "it's organized."

"I'll handle it," Kawaki stated coldly. "I'll take out the source."

"You're not going alone," Konohamaru warned.

"I don't need backup," Kawaki shot back.

"You're not getting a choice," Konohamaru said firmly. "If these things are connected to Code, we need to be smart."

Kawaki's expression hardened, but he said nothing.

"Besides," Sarada interjected, "if these things are spreading, there's no telling what's out there. Working together is smarter."

"Tch... fine," Kawaki muttered. "Let's get moving."

---

Far from the Sand Village, Eida and Daemon walked along a winding path through a dense, shadowed forest. The air here felt heavy — unnatural.

"I still don't get why we're doing this," Daemon muttered, kicking a rock lazily. "If something's bad enough to bother you, why not just let Kawaki deal with it?"

Eida's gaze sharpened. "Because Kawaki's blind right now. He's still obsessed with Code... but I've been watching something far worse."

"You mean that shadow guy?" Daemon asked, eyes narrowing. "The one even your Senrigan can't fully see?"

Eida nodded. "His name is Draven… and whatever he's planning, it's not just about Code."

Eida and Daemon moved carefully.

Then… she stopped.

"You've been watching me," Draven said without looking up. His voice was smooth — unnervingly relaxed.

The air hung heavy in the twisted forest where Draven stood quietly beneath the gnarled trees. The black mist around him seemed to pulse, a living shadow that swayed with his calm breaths.

Eida and Daemon stood at a distance, the forest's oppressive atmosphere tugging at their senses. Even Daemon, who normally thrived on arrogance, felt an unnatural tension creeping through his body.

"You're the one behind those beasts, aren't you?" Eida asked, her voice sharp yet composed.

Draven lifted his gaze, his crimson-red eyes locking onto hers.

"Maybe," he murmured. "Maybe not."

Eida's expression darkened. "If you are... what's your goal? Are you trying to destroy the villages? Are you looking for some twisted revenge?"

Draven chuckled softly, the sound low and cold. He stood, brushing dust from his dark cloak.

"Let me ask you," Draven said as he took a step closer, "if I was the one behind those beasts... would you be here to play the role of a heroine?" His smile widened. "The noble savior of the innocent, come to stop me?"

"Please," Eida scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I don't care about any of that."

"Oh?" Draven's gaze narrowed with intrigue.

"I'm not interested in fighting for some 'greater cause,'" Eida said. "I just wanted to know what kind of game you're playing."

For a moment, Draven said nothing. Then... he grinned.

"Interesting."

Suddenly, the air shifted. The shadows at Draven's feet thickened, spreading out like ink across the forest floor. The temperature dropped, and a deep, guttural growl rumbled from the void.

With a thunderous BOOM, something massive emerged from the darkness.

A twisted, grotesque form loomed over Eida — an enormous, towering mass of pulsing black flesh. A single monstrous black eye dominated its face, glowing like a void of endless despair. Its breathing rumbled like distant thunder, its distorted frame oozing abyssal energy.

The Ten Tails.

Its sheer presence choked the air, suffocating and oppressive. The trees withered, the ground cracked, and even Daemon's face tensed slightly — a rare sign of unease.

The beast's gaze locked onto Eida, its presence drilling into her mind like a hammer striking glass.

But before it could move, Draven raised a hand.

"Enough."

With a simple flick of his wrist, the Ten Tails recoiled back into the shadows, vanishing as if it had never existed. The forest seemed to breathe again, though its air remained tainted by something dark.

"...Was that... the Ten Tails?" Eida asked, her voice low.

Draven smiled faintly. "Glad you're smart."

"...What are you planning to do with that thing?"

Draven stepped closer, his eyes gleaming with a mix of calmness and menace.

"What do you think will happen... if I unleash that 'pet' of mine on a village's?"

Eida's gaze sharpened. "You'd destroy everything."

"No," Draven replied coolly. "I'm not here to destroy anything... yet." He exhaled slowly, as though weighing his next words. "I just want to test the potential and limits of my pet. A little experiment."

"Calling the Ten Tails your 'pet' is... impressive," Eida muttered with a smirk.

"I know," Draven said, his smile widening.

The air fell silent again, a thin tension lingering between them.

"You don't have much kinship with Konoha, do you?" Draven said suddenly. "And from what I hear, your relationship with Kawaki isn't exactly... healthy."

Eida's expression faltered for a second.

"I suppose," Draven continued, "you wouldn't mind switching sides."

Eida's brow furrowed. "Switching sides?"

"You're powerful," Draven said smoothly. "Far too valuable to waste on people who can't give you what you want." His smile turned sharper. "I can give you what Kawaki never could... excitement, romance... and maybe even a little chaos."

Eida's eyes widened slightly, caught off guard by his words. "...Are you saying you have a crush on me?"

Draven chuckled, low and deep. "No," he said bluntly. "But I know how to appreciate a beautiful woman. And frankly..." He paused, his gaze turning sharp. "It would be a shame to waste someone like you."

Eida's face flushed slightly — a rare sight for someone as composed as her.

"Give me some time," she muttered, turning away.

Draven's smile widened as he watched her retreat. "Take all the time you need," he said softly.

Daemon followed Eida closely, shooting a sharp glare back at Draven before yawning and stretching his arms lazily.

Once they were gone, Draven's gaze turned cold.

"The storm's just beginning," he murmured to himself. "Let's see how far they can run... before the abyss swallows them whole."

In the shadows behind him, the faint outline of the Ten Tails flickered once more, its single glowing eye gleaming with silent hunger.
