Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1157: Part 1: Back to Verdant City

From MC's Perspective:

After receiving the summon, I left the class in the middle of the lecture. The Teacher was surprised. But when I mentioned the name of Elder Paul. He let me go.

A few minutes later,

I arrived at the Elder Paul Lin's office. When I walked inside. I saw him sitting behind the desk, relaxed. Seeing that I immediately thought of a meeting.

"Vincent, come and sit," Paul Lin said.

Hearing that I sat opposite him.

"Elder, what happened in the meeting?" I asked.

Paul Lin raised his eyebrows in surprise. Then he realized Vincent must be worried about the meeting.

"Don't worry; the meeting ended in our favour. I told you before that we need the support of Elder Stella. She saved you this time."

"She is part of a neutral faction. Yet she decides to trust you. Do you know why?" Paul asked.

"Transmutation Wizard mission?" I asked back.

"Right," Paul Lin nodded.

"So I hope you do well in the mission. She just sent me a message. She wants you to start doing the mission. Don't worry about the Lectures."

"I will give recorded lecture videos and notes. You can do self-study later," Paul Lin said.

"Alright, I'm leaving then," I replied in a relaxed tone.

Then we spoke about a few other things before I left the floating tower building to start the Mission.

As usual, after leaving the area of the floating tower building, I went to the Teleportation Platform Facility. On the way, I came across other department students.

Everyone is going about their business. People don't seem to care about me. But I have this feeling in my heart that some danger awaits me in this mission.

Though I'm unwilling. But Elder Stella saved me from big trouble this time. She is a level-9 Wizard, a Council Elder as well. In future, I might need her help.

So, I put down this unwillingness and decided to concentrate on the mission. Soon, I arrived at the facility. A few wizards are lining up in the queue before me.

I walked to the last man and stood behind him. Upon sensing my presence, he turned towards me. When he saw my badge, his face changed, and awe appeared in his eyes.

One by one, the wizards used the teleportation platform to leave. When it was my turn. I told the guard about my destination. I stood on the platform.

Swoosh!

The platform is lit, and I vanish from the spot. When I opened my eyes. I found myself standing on the Verdant City's platform.

I nodded to the guards before they left the place. Then I reached a little isolated area before appearing inside the Gregor Mansion.

I quickly changed into a local dress and wore a grey mask(Grade-8 Artifact) on my face. Then I appeared back in the same place.

I have agreed to do the task. But I don't know where to start. As usual, to cool off my head, I entered the nearby coffee shop.

After getting hot coffee from the counter, I paid the amount and sat near the window seat. There are others in this small shop as well. After glancing at me, they continued to mind their own business.

I shifted my attention back to the task. They need my help to find the Transmutation Wizard. But I don't know whether he is still lurking in the city. Judging from his reaction that day, he was pissed and very upset about the stolen items.

The foreign organ is something that he needs to restart his research. Otherwise, he would have to find another suitable research item.

At that time, I could tell that the old Transmutation Wizard was unwilling to do that.

"So should I go back to the Main Market?" I said in my heart. The Main Market is an important place. There are chances for the old man to be there.

After weighing it more, I decided to take a look at that place. I started slipping hot coffee.

A few minutes later,

I walked out of the shop and started walking towards the Main Market. While walking, I keep an eye on my surroundings. The street shops are, as usual, busy.

People flow can be seen anytime here in this Verdant City. I walked through the crowd and continued to stride towards the location.

About 20 minutes later,

I reached the Main Market. But the Main Market is not as active as before. There were no street vendors at all. The place outside looks deserted.

I decided to go around this place a little bit to see if anyone was monitoring. If someone shows a killing intent, the system will warn me at that time.

While walking, my gaze fell on the big shops on the left side of the street. To my surprise, some of them were closed. Only the big brand shops are open right now.

They must have a big backer so they weren't affected by the incident. Then I spotted verdant city guards standing in front of the entrance. This time there aren't two people; instead, there are four people.

The Main Market has two entrance/ exit points. When I went to another entrance/ exit point to check. It's the same; four City Guards are standing in front of it.

There are a total of 8 high-level Wizards here. I doubt there are some monitoring the place from secret as well. This much security to this place.

I doubt the old Transmutation Wizard would come in this situation.

Suddenly, I spotted a few locals discussing among themselves while looking at the Main Market. Out of curiosity, I walked closer towards them to eavesdrop.

"They haven't caught the murderer yet."

"I wonder when the business in the market will return to normal."

"I don't think it will happen anytime soon."

"One of my uncles is working as a City Guard here. He told me that someone working under the True Elements Society Wizard had gone missing."

"The True Elements Society Wizard might be investigating this case."

"Damn, the killer can even touch the True Elements Society people. We locals weren't safe at all."
