Chapter 1160: Part 2: Hideout
From MC's Perspective:
Inside the control room, I couldn't help but think of the outside situation. If I'm right then the outside situation must be worse. The city was already in a tense state.
After the death of several high-level wizards, the situation would become worse than before.
"Should I directly disclose the location to Elder Paul?" I thought. It's unwise for me to confront the Transmutation Wizard.
Everyone had already raised many doubts about my previous encounter with the Transmutation Wizard. The elders found it hard to believe that I was able to escape from him.
But if I tell the same reason again, they won't believe me. After weighing the pros and cons, I have decided to expose the location. Let them come and fight against the Transmutation Wizard.
Then my attention turned towards the old inn. So far there is no sign of him coming out. It looks like he would appear late at night only. No wonder, no one was able to find him.
If not for his killing of the City Guards, no one would have realized that he was still lurking here. Just as I decide to appear outside.
I saw someone opening the door to come out in the control mirror.
Outside,
The old man stepped out, relaxed and chilled. His gaze swept around the surroundings before leaving the place. He intends to collect some intel. He wants to know about the aftermath caused by him.
When he was gone from the place.
Swoosh!
I appeared outside. I looked at my communication panel before turning towards the old inn. Out of curiosity, I decided to take a look inside.
I walked to the door and opened it slowly before walking inside. The next second, a nasty smell of corpse attacked my nostrils.
There was no illumination inside. But I could smell something bad coming from the basement. I immediately found the way down to the basement to check.
I quickly found the path near the kitchen. I opened the top cover and started stepping down the stairs. The stench was so strong that it made my stomach churn.
I saw piles of corpses on the ground, old and new, arranged to one another, making it like a small pyramid shape.
"What the f@#k?" I cursed out.
I thought that the old man had killed only City Guards. But here the corpses of locals are piled up. A bad premonition appears in my heart.
"Don't tell me he started his research?" I thought.
The next second, I started to search the room. If the old man has started the human experiment, then I'm ignoring the lives of people.
Stay tuned with empire
I don't want to be caught in any mess. But the situation is throwing a curveball after another at me. I looked around the place, but I didn't find any experimental tools or any sign of research being done.
When I observed the corpse again. I found that there was a hole in my chest. It's the same for every other corpse. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Why does he feed the parasitic organ?" I asked in my heart.
I thought he had been using it as a killer move. But looking at the corpses, I seemed to realize it was something else. Maybe the parasitic organ requires feeding. My back went cold thinking about it.
Creak!
I heard a door opening sound from above. I immediately begin to access the communication panel on the storage bracelet.
[I have found the killer's hideout. Send someone to my current location to catch the killer]
After typing the message, I sent it to Elder Paul Lin.
Swoosh!
The next second, I vanished from the spot and appeared in the Gregor Mansion.
A few seconds later,
The Transmutation Wizard returns to the basement. He is smiling ear to ear.
"Ha...Ha...Ha...," He let out a joyful laugh.
"The Killing has caused the city to shut down temporarily. They deserved it for stealing my items," The old man said to himself.
He went to find the news. But he didn't expect to hear such a big development. The City Administration was careless. They failed to save their City Guards.
It has caused panic among the locals and others living in the city. To think someone is causing this terror under the Territory of the True Elements Society. The locals were feeling fear and insecurity.
Some experienced veterans and adventurers immediately thought that the identity of the killer was not ordinary.
Otherwise, the True Elements Society wouldn't take this long to find the culprit. So people started suspecting that someone from the hostile faction was doing this killing.
Special Mage Department:
A few minutes ago,
Elder Paul Lin is sitting in his office. A blue screen pops up in front of him. The message box colour. Which signifies an emergency.
Seeing that his expression turned serious. He then reads the message.
[The Verdant City: Several City Guards stationed at the Main Market killed by a mysterious killer.]
After reading the message, he immediately thought of Vincent Carey. He knows that Vincent went to Verdant City yesterday.
He doesn't know what's going on out there. Just as he decides to call him. The blue screen shows another message. It is a new message to send to him.
When he saw the sender's name.
"Vincent," Paul Lin uttered in a surprise.
He then reads the message. A hint of disbelief appeared in his eyes. He couldn't believe Vincent had found out the location of the killer.
He once again read it to confirm the information. Then he touches a few options on the screen before tracking Vincent's location in Verdant City.
The Storage bracelet has a communication panel. He picked the signal for it. A map appears on the blue screen. It shows Vincent's location in the red dot.
Paul Lin then contacts Elder Stella. The call was immediately connected.
"Elder Stella, it's good news. Vincent has found out the killer's location. I'm sending his current location right now," Paul Lin said.
"What?" Stella, on the other side of the call, was shocked.
Then she quickly calms her heart.
"Alright, send me the location, I'm going there right now," She said before ending the call.
