Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 441 Soul Devourer Swallows the Sky_2

Rogue Heart nodded, and finally, Dao Zhun pointed downward, saying, "First of all, we can be certain that the Underworld God Army is the enemy of us all. And here lies the Underworld God Army's largest den. Our mission is to thoroughly destroy this place, and you two are the best candidates for the job..." Then Dao Zhun detailed his plan to the Soul Devouring Monk and Rogue Heart Sword Hero, and after confirming that both had fully understood, Dao Zhun transformed his right hand into a Sword Finger and pressed it against their foreheads. Subsequently, the two vanished into the void.

Observing the still-busy Underworld God Army below, Dao Zhun also concealed himself in the space.

For the Underworld God Army, today was just like any normal day, indistinguishable from the usual pattern of business. All members were busy with their duties, including the dozen or so squad leaders and Ming Liekuang, the former Chief Combat Commander of the third legion, who were all directing the Underworld God Army to make the most of their time crafting weapons. Ever since Qian Yuye left to align with the Myriad Demons Country, they knew that the Underworld Venerate's resurrection was imminent. The armor for the upper body of the Underworld God was only two-thirds complete, so their task was heavy and time was running short. Once Xing Dian led those people to reclaim all the Soul Bodies, that would be the time for the true resurrection of the Underworld Venerate.

While Ming Liekuang fantasized about how he would lead the Underworld God Army into battle after the resurrection of the Underworld Venerate, he suddenly heard one of his subordinates, a squad leader, exclaim in alarm, "Lord, lord, something has happened, something terrible!" Ming Liekuang frowned slightly and flashed in front of the squad leader, slapping him across the face and demanding, "What's the matter? What causes you to be in such a panic?" The squad leader didn't even mind the searing pain on his face as he fell to his knees, trembling as he said, "The metals, those metals, they've all vanished!"

"Gone? Vanished?" Before the squad leader could say more, Ming Liekuang vanished on the spot. When he reappeared, he was in another space carved into the cavern wall where those precious metals were kept. This place was designated for storing rare metals that had been refined, but now it was empty—the once mountainous pile of metal had completely disappeared without leaving a single scrap on the ground.

"Someone, someone! What on earth happened here? How can such a large pile of metal just disappear into thin air?" Ming Liekuang had hardly finished speaking when the space before him slightly warped, and a figure appeared. "No need to call anyone else, the metals are right here!" he said, pointing at his stomach. This person was none other than the Soul Devouring Monk, and he had consumed the mountainous pile of precious metals. The devouring ability of the Sky Swallowing Buddha was not to be underestimated.

Ming Liekuang, along with Ming Tiekuang who followed Sun Wukong to Annihilation Palace, were both Chief Combat Commanders of the Underworld God Army, arguably the most powerful below the Legion Commanders, and within the third legion of the Underworld God Army, Ming Liekuang's combat power was unchallenged as the greatest. He had made many significant contributions to the Underworld Venerate, been through countless battles both large and small, and slain innumerable enemies.

The Underworld God Army had five major legions, each led by a Legion Commander, and above these five Legion Commanders was a single Commander. Below the five Legion Commanders were the Chief Combat Commanders, each excelling in different fields according to their respective legions. Below the Chief Combat Commanders were the Chief Captains, Captains, and Squad Leaders.

A million years after that great war had ended, only tens of thousands from the Underworld God Army had barely survived. Among them were two former Legion Commanders, namely Qian Yuye and Xing Dian. There were also two Chief Combat Commanders who had sided with the Spirit Controllers: Ming Tiekuang who had previously served, and the present-day Ming Liekuang. Below them, there were two Chief Captains, Ming An and Ming Tu. The remaining small team captains totaled over a dozen. (From now on, the members of the Underworld God Army will be mainly as listed above, any discrepancies in previous contents can be ignored!)

Ming Liekuang was renowned for his strength — an ultimate force that was unstoppable and could destroy anything. Noticing the Soul Devouring Monk materializing out of thin air, Ming Liekuang immediately knew that this person was an enemy, not a friend. Therefore, wasting no words with the Soul Devouring Monk, his feet surged and he charged forth, following up with a fierce punch aimed straight at the Monk.

However, the Soul Devouring Monk neither dodged nor shied away, but let Ming Liekuang's punch land squarely on his abdomen. Then, Ming Liekuang stepped back three paces, his eyes filled with surprise as he looked at the Monk. The Soul Devouring Monk's stomach had been punched into a fist-shaped dent by Ming Liekuang, but the color of the Monk's face didn't change in the slightest. "Tsk tsk, I must say, these metals would probably cause a six-nation melee if placed in the Six Great Divine Nations. It seems if one chooses the right side, there are indeed many benefits to reap."

Following the voice of the Soul Devouring Monk, the dent in his abdomen quickly healed, and then his body began to undergo a drastic transformation. First, his stature inflated to an impressive five to six meters, his garments on the upper body shattered into tatters, while his lower half was clad in nothing but a hemp cloth pants. The pants, which looked like plain hemp, didn't tear despite his exponential growth, suggesting they were no ordinary garment. His skin had already turned thoroughly metallic, and on his back, elbows, knees, and twin swords emerged sharp metallic spikes that resembled tree roots.

Now, the Soul Devouring Monk, apart from his shiny bald head, bore no resemblance to a human whatsoever; he had become a metallic behemoth. But that wasn't all. Just as the transformation of the Monk's body finished, he suddenly looked skyward, then incredibly, spat out a long metallic staff from his mouth. The runes and texture on the staff revealed that it was without a doubt a rare Divine Weapon.

At last, the transformation of the Soul Devourer was complete, and pleased with his new body, the Monk gestured to Ming Liekuang, who wasn't far away, with a crook of his finger, "Come on, let me feel how powerful this body can make me." Though Ming Liekuang was amazed by the transformation of the Soul Devouring Monk, his pride wouldn't allow him to show any hint of retreat. With a vehement push from his legs, the ground beneath him cracked, and even more astonishingly, he sped toward the Soul Devouring Monk who towered at six meters tall.

And then with a crouch and a spring, he shot into the air, his right fist slamming hard under the Monk's chin, throwing the Monk's head backward. But before Ming Liekuang could feel any satisfaction, the Monk's arms suddenly swung back, trapping him within arms thick as Ming Liekuang's entire body. Then, the Monk's head, which had been thrown back, came smashing down without warning.

This smash directly slammed Ming Liekuang down while in the Monk's embrace. (To be continued.
