Chapter 676: Explanation
"What about the Red Fists?" Daneli asked. "Under the assumption that the Flynn Family doesn't make a move, who's going to go after them?"
"That's where Elrick, Liriel, and Kael will come in," Adam answered. "Let's hope neither of them are traitors." Read exclusive chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
Daneli thought for a moment and then added, "It will be difficult to find the Red Fists without Brigham Flynn's men. The members of the Brotherhood in the city are nearly not enough."
"It's enough," Adam assured him. "You remember that black snake? He's already searching for all the members of the Red Fists as we speak. Our men just need to be ready to act tomorrow."
"You…" Daneli was rendered speechless for a few moments. "When did you plan all this?"
"Just now," Adam flatly stated.
The elf deeply looked at his friend and then shook his head with a sigh. He couldn't help but praise, "You're good."
He paused for a moment before adding, "But now that all of us have been occupied with our separate missions, that would mean you'd be entering the tiger's den alone."
"I can handle it," Adam spoke matter-of-factly.
"But you must go under the assumption that the Cult will have a contingency plan should they fail to kill you inside the manor," Daneli astutely reminded him.
Adam thought for a moment before nodding. "You're right." He paused for a second before adding with a sly smirk, "Well, that's where Qamara Feno will come in. It's a good thing that she's the daughter of a councilor. I'll put her to good use."
Daneli got up with a sigh, "You do that. I'm going to return home and plan for tomorrow."
He walked toward the door to the study room when suddenly he stopped, turned around, and spoke with slight concern, "Adam."
"Yeah?" The raven-haired youth asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't die." With that said, Daneli left, shutting the door behind him.
Adam sat in his chair, looking at the door with a gratified smile. "It's nice to have a brother like you, you pointy-eared bastard…"
…
The loud explosion caused the ground to sunder, resulting in a massive hole that led to the chamber underneath Duksfall Manor.
The sudden explosion caused everyone inside the manor to panic. Even the armed forces of Ravenfell who were standing at the entrance of the estate suddenly felt tremors in their hearts.
The force of the explosion as well as the attack power behind it caused them to feel awe and fear.
Sabrina Benton looked at the large, gaping hole inside the Duskfall Estate with narrowed eyes. A mana combat technique? Impressive.
"Shall we, Councilor Benton?" Daneli called out to her respectfully.
The old woman looked at the elf with cold eyes and hummed. She then ordered her men, "Half of you guard the perimeter of this estate. None of the people inside are allowed to leave!"
"OHHH!" The Magi roared in acknowledgment. They got off their magical beasts and brandished their long weapons, standing guard around the Duskfall Estate, radiating oppressive auras.
Sabrina Benton hopped off of her saber-toothed magical beast and started walking toward the gaping hole with wide and confident steps. "The rest of you follow me."
…
In the vast underground chamber, Adam looked up at the dust and debris falling from the massive hole that he'd punched in the ceiling.
He then looked at his right hand which was bloodied despite wearing a sturdy gauntlet. "Slightly more difficult than I thought," he muttered.
On the other side of the bloody pool, the yellow snake spewed oil from its mouth, drenching the horde of zombies. The red snake then breathed fire, lighting the zombies to ashes.
Thanks to the two snakes, Qamara and the rest of the group had an easy time dealing with the zombies.
"What was that explosion just now?" Qamara asked in shock. She saw Adam continuously jump and punch the ceiling, causing her to be taken aback, thinking if he had finally lost it.
"It's just Adam being Adam," Yavia spoke with a bored look on her face. Because the snakes took care of everything so quickly, she didn't even have the chance to do anything.
"The… the zombies are all dead!"
"We're saved!"
"It's over!"
The group of Magi around Qamara erupted in cheers. They thought they'd die, but here they were, safe and sound.
Suddenly, one of them spoke nervously, "What about those black-robed Magi? Did… Magus Constantine take care of them?"
That's right! Qamara thought to herself in distress.
She mumbled under her breath, "If Adam had the time to punch a hole through the ceiling, could it mean… those Rank 2 Magi… No, they must've escaped!"
"Escaped?" Yavia looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Elf, what are you talking about? If they were fighting Adam then that could only mean one thing."
Sensing the underlying meaning of the wood spirit's words, Qamara looked at her incredulously. "Surely you don't mean Adam took care of all of them! There were fourteen of them! Fourteen Rank 2 Magi!"
"You…" Yavia looked at her with slight confusion. "You don't know Adam very well, do you? In the past, he single-handedly took down a Rank 3 Magus. A bunch of Rank 2 Magi mean nothing to him."
Qamara's mouth was agape in shock, "Took down a Rank 3 Magus? Impossible!"
Right at that moment, several figures descended from the large hole in the ceiling, catching everyone's attention.
Meanwhile, Adam silently watched them descend. All of them were Rank 2 Magi, and only one was a Rank 3 Magus. His eyes narrowed and he thought, She's so old, yet she radiates such strength!
With a resounding thud, the group of Magi landed in the underground chamber. Sabrina Benton, standing at the forefront of the group, observed everything inside the chamber with narrowed eyes, nothing escaping her vision.
Finally, her gaze landed on Adam, and then on the fourteen corpses of Magi behind him. Her eyes narrowed even further when she observed the brutal way in which they were killed.
Daneli suddenly walked past her and towards the raven-haired youth. After realizing that he wasn't that injured, the elf breathed a sigh of relief. "So it all worked out in the end, eh?"
Adam glanced at his friend and nodded with a faint smile. "… It did."
Sabrina Benton suddenly approached them and stood before the youth. She radiated an overbearing aura as she looked directly into Adam's eyes.
However, Adam wasn't one to back down. He looked her back in the eye, his back straight as an arrow.
"Hmm." Sabrina Benton hummed, her eyes narrowing. "Explain yourself, Magus Constantine."
Adam slowly raised his hand and pointed his finger in the direction of the back passageway - the area where over a hundred innocent women were imprisoned.
"There lies your explanation."
