Yu Dong thought that the villagers were upset with her because she asked them to go up the mountain at such an hour but then she heard one of the villagers say,

"You have done so much for the village, how could we sleep in our beds knowing that your family is in trouble?"

"That's right! You have given so much to the village and never asked anything from us in return. How can we leave you and your family alone in this situation?" Another woman chimed up.

After these women spoke up more and more villagers started to speak up in support of looking for Yu Mai and Li Yuya with Yu Dong.

The villagers were indeed grateful for everything that Yu Dong had done for them. They could never forget the sacrifices and hard work Yu Dong put in to make sure that their village remained prosperous in every situation. It was because of her timely decisions and dedication towards the village that they still had water to drink and food to eat.

After the drought started, the villagers saw the conditions of the other villages and knew how hard it was for others to survive. While their village had enough meat to eat and water to drink every day.

Yu Dong distributed big bones and meat that was not sold in the mall to the villagers at a cheap price and the villagers of the Big River Village how big of a difference it made to Yu Dong.

She could have sold the meat at the mall for higher prices but she gave the villagers a much cheaper price and let them have the taste of the delicious meat every now and then.

What was more, the villagers who worked in the butcher house were given bones for free to take with them. For villagers who only survived on pickled vegetables and coarse grains, this was a big favour from Yu Dong as even bone broth was enough to make their family happy for days.

And the ones who worked on the farms were also given a choice. If they wanted to take vegetables that were not sold with them or bones that were left in the butcher house. Of course, many villagers picked bones as the broth of pork bones was really delicious.

This was not all, sometimes Yu family even distributed samples to the villagers and allowed them to taste novel things. Just a few days ago, Yu Dong asked a few kids to taste strawberry cheesecake and the kids were still speaking praises of that sweet dessert that no one had seen before to their parents.

The parents also knew how expensive that dessert must have been but Yu Dong let their kids have it for free!

Because of Yu Dong and her family, the villagers of the Big River Village have forgotten what it means to sleep with a hungry stomach. She was the one who had taken care of them like she was their big sister, even though many of the women in the village were older than Yu Dong, they treated Yu Dong as their big sister as Yu Dong had treated them and their family kindly.

So how could these people who have enjoyed the hard work and efforts of Yu Dong ignore her plight?

When Yu Dong heard the words of the villagers, she was extremely touched. She was only doing her best to make this village a better place for her children because she was given the responsibility of doing so. Yu Dong never thought that the villagers would be touched by her actions, she wiped her eyes and thanked the villagers who waved their hands.

"There is no need to thank us, Madam Yu."

"Wait for us, Madam Yu. We will get the tools to hunt."

"Let me bring the lanterns for everyone."

One by one the women left and returned even small girls who were just sixteen or seventeen came with their mothers. They wanted to thank Yu Dong for the good life she had given them and their daddies because of Yu Dong, now their daddies no longer fought with their mother who only fed the legitimate heir and ignored them.

Now their lives were peaceful and it was all thanks to Yu Dong.

"We need to search the mountains," Aunt Wang relayed to the women while asking the mers to stay inside the houses. "Everyone, make sure to not do anything too impulsive, if you see something wrong, just run."

"No one will call you out for running away!"

The women of the village agreed as they followed Yu Dong and the coyotes up the mountain.

However, halfway through the mountain as they separated Yu Dong ran into the three puppies who came with Yu Mai.

"These.."

"Little yellow, little white, little black, what are you doing here?" Yu Dong sharply looked around the forest thinking that Yu Mai and Li Yuya were close but she did not see the two children. Her eyes dimmed but she did not lose hope, instead, she dropped her gaze to the three puppies and questioned, "Do you three know where Mai and Yuya are?"

The three puppies tilted their heads and then caught Yu Dong's pants' fabric in their teeth. They pulled her towards the direction where Yu Mai and Li Yuya were because the three pups were eating food cooked in spiritual water and with vegetables that were raised by spiritual energy they were a bit smarter but they were too young to understand a lot of things.

They only knew that they needed to bring Yu Dong with them as their litter masters were in danger!

Yu Dong understood what the puppies were trying to do, she turned to look at the rest of the crowd and said, "Bring the others back, it seems like these puppies know where Yu Mai and Li Yuya are at the moment!"
