Yu Dong chased after the bear that rushed down the mountain. She couldn't let it head over to the village as the mers and elderlies were still staying inside their house. More importantly, her house was the closest!

If that bear headed down the village, it would not only cause havoc but it would also scare Shen Li. Her husband was very close to giving birth, if this bear scared Shen Li and caused him to go into an early labour, who would be responsible for it?

She used her agile feet and then jumped in the air. Shen then rolled her body to the side and used the trunk of the tree to push herself forward. When the women behind Yu Dong saw her skipping past them by using the trunks of the trees, they were left in awe. Was Yu Dong this good at Qing Qong?

However, Yu Dong did not have the time to bask in the admiration that was being directed at her. She took out the large knife and attacked the bear at the back, her eyebrows scrunched up in pain when she pulled her hand back.

Because she received an injury to the front it was a bit difficult for it to move as freely as she did before. Yu Dong suppressed the pain and then embedded the large knife in the back of the bear. The second the tip dug deep into the skin of the bear, it let out an earth-shattering roar.

"What was that?" Shen Li questioned as he stood up from the chair on which he was sitting. He was about to head out of the house but was pulled back by Chen Mi.

"It's fine, you don't need to worry about it," Chen Mi said to Shen Li even when his heart was thudding inside his chest. He was terrified and wanted to rush out and see if his wife was alright or not, however, if he showed fear then Shen Li would definitely there was something amiss.

After all his brother Li was really smart. Even the smallest detail wouldn't be missed by him.

Especially when the entire house was tense.

"What do you mean by don't worry? What is it that you are not telling me?" Shen Li turned to look at Chen Mi and asked him with an exasperated voice. He turned and looked at Chen Mi before saying, "The kids are crying and Ah Chi looks like he is about to faint. Even Liu looks tense, what is going on?"

Shen Li could see that something was going on even if the mers did not show it on their faces.

"You are making me worried, Mi," Shen Li said to Chen Mi who pursed his lips. He held Shen Li's arms and then helped him sit down on the chair, he spoke to Shen Li with a soft voice, "Brother Li, you trust me right?"

Shen Li looked at Chen Mi, he opened his mouth to say something but then pursed his lips and turned silent. Seeing this Chen Mi caught hold of his hands in his and then said to him, "Everything is fine, Brother Li. You only need to take care of yourself and the children. As long as you keep yourself and your children safe, there is nothing that you need to worry about."

"This is all you need to worry about," Chen Mi clasped Shen Li's hands tightly. Earlier Old Madam Yu told him that Yu Dong was facing the same bear that killed her mother and their mother-in-law.

Chen Mi was certain that the world seemed to have come to a stop but he couldn't even show it on his face as he knew that if showed his fear then Shen Li would start worrying as well. And the last thing they needed was to scare him and make him go into an early labour.

He held on to Shen Li's hands and leaned his forehead on his warm hands to receive a bit of warmth as his skin was cold with fear and worry for his wife.

"Don't worry," he told Shen Li again but Shen Li could see that if he was to ask Chen Mi again, his brother would end up crying.

Seeing Chen Mi's condition, Shen Li pursed his lips. He looked outside the window that showed the dark sky and questioned inwardly, 'Where are you, Yu Dong? And what are you doing?'

On the other side,

Yu Dong pushed the bear's paw off her body. She gritted her teeth and picked up the bow and arrow. She should have known that this bear was not that easy to tackle when she found out that it was the bear that killed Yu Hai.

She aimed at three arrows at the bear as she nodded at the rest of the huntress who let go of the arrow along with Yu Dong who aimed three arrows at the heart of the bear. One leads the other.

Fortunately this time the bear was a bit slower than before and with Yu Dong's trick of giving momentum to the first arrow by using two other arrows, the first arrow dug into the heart of the bear.

The bear let out one last bellowing roar as it glared at Yu Dong before falling down on the ground with a loud thump.

Once he fell, everyone looked at the fallen bear with bated breath. They were waiting for it to stand up on its feet just like the last time when it took down Yu Dong with him.

But the bear remained still. It did not move any more causing the huntress to cheer.

"It's gone!"

"Yes!"

"Thank the heavens!"

Yu Tong rushed to Yu Dong who was kneeling on the ground and helped her up.

"Sister, are you alright?" Yu Tong asked as she looked at the blood that was dripping down Yu Dong's body. The flow was enough to make a small pool of blood around Yu Dong.

Yu Dong nodded. She then raised her head and looked at the bear that had fallen and said to Yu Tong, "Go and bring a cart, we need to take this bear down and tackle it."

"Before it rots——" Yu Dong felt her eyes roll back in their sockets and cursed in her head. The last thing she heard was Yu Tong screaming her name.

Once Yu Dong fainted it was nothing more than chaos in the village. Doctor Gu who was asked to stay next to Shen Li was immediately pulled to the Yu house where Madam Ning and her daughter brought Yu Dong and the bear along with them.

As everyone expected when Shen Li saw Yu Dong covered in blood, he let out a scream and fainted. Fortunately, Doctor Gu told him that Yu Dong was fine before he fainted which saved him from going to an early labour.

However, when he woke up Shen Li did not let go of the matter so easily. He slapped and hit Chen Mi and the rest with tears streaming down his face,

"You all have become so bold! You actually kept something so big from me! When were you going to tell me that Yu Dong went to hunt a bear!?" Shen Li questioned as he looked at the three mers along with Xiao Hua who was trying to hide behind Ye Liu who was taller than him.

Xiao Hua lowered his head when Shen Li raised his hand again causing Ye Liu to receive a slap in his stead.

Ye Liu breathed in and then out before turning to look at the mer behind him. Xiao Hua smiled at him flatteringly but it did not work as Ye Liu pulled him to the front and ——

THUD.

A slap landed on his head as well.

"We just wanted to make sure that you and the children will be fine," Xiao Hua said to Shen Li as he rearranged his hair, once it was back to its pretty self. Xiao Hua turned to look at Shen Li and then said to him in a low voice, "We did not know what and how Yu Dong was in the mountain nor did we know how long it will take her to come back.

In case something delayed her, you would have worried to the seventh heavens."

"We only wanted to make sure that you wouldn't go to an early labour."

Shen Li glared at him through teary eyes and then snapped at him, "Do you think that I am that weak? And even if I am …I deserve to know that my wife was in danger! As her husband, this is my right!"

"But the children——"

"Enough with the children! I am not so weak that I cannot keep my children."

"But you just fainted…" Xiao Hua muttered causing another glare to be directed at him as Shen Li snapped, "That's because I believed you four fools and thought that Yu Dong was fine! But she returned on a stretcher with blood covering her body! You tell me how was I supposed to react?"
