Chapter 613: The Less he knows The Better
Ye Jinglan, however, didn't seem to notice the disdain in the eyes of the receptionist. Instead, he placed his hands on his hips and then said to the mer, "You better call Laosan. Isn't he a mer nanny who works in your building? Ask him to come out. There is something that I wish to talk to him about."
Ye Jinglan was like a shrew; he didn't even consider the time and place where he was standing and simply turned his nose up arrogantly while waiting for Laosan to turn up.
When the receptionist heard the demand of the old mer, he frowned. He wondered what kind of trouble Laosan ended up in for a shrew to come looking for him. However, he still called Laosan, who came within three minutes. Laosan was the mer nanny; Luo Huian had arranged for the two kids.
And he was also the one who gave three million yuan to Ye Jinglan a few days ago. But he never thought that this careless and greedy mer would waste three million yuan in three days. Did he think that he was the prince of the state or something of the sort? How come he wasted so much money in just a matter of a few days?
"Ye Jinglan, just what do you think you are trying to do?" Laosan asked with an angry look on his face. When he gave this mer more than three million yuan, he thought that Ye Jinglan was going to stay quiet for five to six days and by the end of the week, Luo Huian would return with the kids. That way, everything would be solved in a matter of a little trouble.
But he never thought that Ye Jinglan would be so shameless that he would come looking for him in a matter of three days. Three!
Ye Jinglan simply snorted. He crossed his hands in front of his chest and then said to Laosan, "Why else? I am worried about my children. Your boss took them away and didn't let me talk to them or much less even see them. Of course, I am going to come looking for you and ask where my kids are at the moment."
"You…" Laosan, of course, knew that the mer was not concerned about the children. He was only concerned about how to make use of Luo Huian and the children's absence to get what he wanted.
What children? What worries? He only wanted to threaten him.
However, Laosan was just a messenger. Even if he was upset, he could only call Luo Huian and tell her about Ye Jinglan. When Luo Huian heard that the mer actually went looking for Laosan and asked him to call her under the pretext that he was worried about the children, her worldview was refreshed. She had to admit that she had seen many shameless mers, but she had never seen a mer as shameless as Ye Jinglan. He actually went looking for Laosan after he wasted three million yuan.
And he even did it quite boldly.
Though three million yuan was nothing to Luo Huian, who could earn triple of it because of the dungeon that she had found, she still didn't like the idea of wasting her money on someone like Ye Jinglan. What was this? She didn't even get a chance to spend her own money, and Ye Jinglan came to ask her for it?
Did he think that using her money was that simple?
Luo Huian scoffed. She looked down at the talisman that she had gotten from her fourth uncle and then said to Laosan, "Tell him that I will soon send him the money."
Just as she promised, she transferred another three million yuan to Laosan.
When Laosan saw the money in his account, he transferred it to Ye Jinglan, who took it with a beaming smile. He turned around and said to Laosan, "I understand that Miss Luo is having a hard time while trying to take care of the children, so I will not bother her anymore."
After he finished speaking, he turned around on his feet and walked away without looking back.
When Laosan watched him leave, he raised his head and spat on the floor. He was really disgusted by the actions of the mer; he really thought that he could do anything he wanted just because Luo Huian was being kind to him? If not for the fact that Miss Luo had asked him to stay quiet, he really wanted to make a fuss and let everyone know what a disgusting person this mer was.
Laosan turned around on his feet and then headed back inside the building.
"Who was that?" the receptionist turned and looked at the mer who entered the building with a frown on his face. "Is he someone from your family?" If that mer were related to Laosan, then he would have to let this matter pass onto the higher-ups; they couldn't keep someone with problematic family members like that mer.
"No!" Laosan knew what the receptionist was thinking and refused at once. He shook his head and then said in a hurry, "That mer is not related to me, but he has some connections with Miss Luo. He couldn't reach her, so he came to see me." Laosan was worried that the receptionist would file a complaint against him with the higher-ups, and that might lead him to get into legal trouble with the company.
After all, he wrote down that he was an orphan, and that was how he got this high-paying job. If a misunderstanding arose, then he would not only be kicked out of the job but also end up in prison. So, how could he foolishly let the misunderstanding stew?
He immediately cleared the air.
When the receptionist heard that it was related to Luo Huian, he pursed his lips. Well, there was nothing he could do about that then. Luo Huian was one of the bosses of the company, since that mer was related to her, there was little to nothing that they could do about it.
"I see." The receptionist nodded at Laosan, who heaved a sigh of relief before turning around on his feet and calling Luo Huian. He needed to tell everything that happened lest that old mer dared to say that he didn't transfer the money to him. "Hello, Miss Huian? Yes. I did what you asked me to do."
On the other side, Luo Huian, who received the call, frowned upon hearing the good things that Ye Jinglan said to Laosan. However, once she finished listening, she sighed and told the mer not to think about it, as she would take care of everything for him on her side. Only then did Laosan heave a sigh of relief. He then said to Luo Huian, "Miss Luo, do I really need to continue dealing with that mer? I am not against it, but I also have a job to care about. If that mer continues to trouble me at my workplace, then what will I do?"
"There is no need," Luo Huian replied with an apologetic tone in her voice. "Nian Zhi's surgery will be done within the next three days. After that, we will return to the city. He can make a fuss then if he wants to." Once she returned to the city, she would not have to worry about anything, including Ye Jinglan and the trouble that he might bring to her door.
When Laosan heard that he didn't have to deal with that greedy and shameless mer anymore, he heaved a sigh of relief. Finally, he could get a break. However, he paused and then asked Luo Huian, "But what if the mer come looking for me again? He wasted three million yuan in a day. I am afraid that the mer would definitely come looking for me in a day or two." Ye Jinglan was like a hungry lion.
He must have learnt that he could make easy money by using the disappearance of the children and pushing Luo Huian into a corner. Since the hungry lion had already tasted blood, he would definitely cause more and more trouble.
Luo Huian had also thought about it. She pursed her lips before saying to the mer, "If he comes to you again, then let him know that you cannot reach me anymore."
"But that—"
"That mer will cause trouble? I know. Let him." Luo Huian thought of the plan that she had come up with and curled her lips in a satisfied smile. "If he wants to make trouble, then you can let him cause as much trouble as he wants to."
When Laosan heard Luo Huian's words, he wanted to ask if she had planned something, but held himself back. It would be better if he stayed oblivious to Luo Huian's actions, because the more he knew, the more trouble he would invite for himself.
