Gundam: Changing the World Even with a Mass-Produced Unit

Chapter 187: Chapter 189 – Netix

Chapter 189 – Netix

NT-X's eyes suddenly lit up with a pale yellow glow, which then shifted to green—indicating that the system data inherited from NT-1 had been activated in this unit.

Data specifically tailored for Amuro.

Although it was based on the 16-year-old Amuro.

Even so, Amuro still felt a sense of seamless connection with the familiar unit in just a short span of time.

It was as if the mobile suit was actively responding to his movements.

No—not as if. This machine, which originally belonged to Amuro, was indeed reading his thoughts and applying them to the new weapon systems.

On its back were two wired-controlled BITs.

"Thank you, Chris, for preparing this Gundam for me."

With his hands gripping NT-X's control sticks, Amuro finally called out Christina's name once more, just as he had in the past.

The bond between the two was clearly manifested in this mobile suit.

Whether it was NT-1 or NT-X, both were machines carefully tuned for him by Christina.

In that moment, Amuro understood why Nina viewed Gundams as emotional bridges between her and Kou Uraki.

"And thank you too, Rita, for bringing this Gundam to me."

Aside from the playful jokes Rita had made, Amuro had a very favorable impression of the girl.

Though he couldn't help but wonder why she seemed so close with Chris and Eli.

"Then—Amuro Ray, Gundam NT-X—read as NETIX—launching!"

The thrusters added specifically to support the BIT base on the back lit up, propelling the Gundam to instantly catch up with the allied units already charging toward the "routed" Cima Fleet!

He could feel Christina gradually fading into the distance—but once again, he and Eli were both piloting Gundams, flying side by side across the cosmos.

"How does it feel to reunite?"

"Great."

Eli had asked the question teasingly.

But Amuro's overly earnest response left him slightly disappointed. Unwilling to give up, he repeated the question.

Amuro, still in the cockpit, listening to the unmistakable teasing in his tone, simply stared seriously into the image of Eli on the screen and replied again:

"Great."

"…Brat."

Eli muttered under his breath but quickly shifted gears and began issuing orders to the mobile suit units that had followed them.

The reinforcement MS force included the four GP Project Gundams, heavily customized GMs, GM Cannons, a fully equipped G-line, and twelve GM Custom units from the White Base and the White Chaser—plus Amuro's NT-X.

Though only half the size of a standard MS battalion, it was without question a force capable of altering the course of battle.

Especially when it came to GP02.

"Listen up—we're going to carry out a decapitation strike on Delaz before the remnants of his fleet and the Jamitov fleet get too close!"

Before fully entering the battlefield, while the MS units were still racing along the outer wall of the colony satellite toward Delaz's ship under guidance from Cima's fleet, Eli ordered them to maintain formation and issued commands via laser communication.

"Our job is simple: protect Arcadia's mobile suit. Don't let anyone get close to him. Escort him to the target location, let him fire the nuke, then cover his retreat. Understood?!"

Eli barked the orders to the MS units under his command.

"Yes, sir!"

No one voiced any objections.

Even the three from Titans shouted in agreement alongside members from opposing factions.

Retaking control of the colony and preventing its fall was something every Federation soldier had to risk everything to accomplish.

The twenty MS units quickly split into five squads, each with clear objectives, charging toward Delaz's flagship under the guidance of the two red mobile suits!

Cima and Char each glanced at the other in their cockpits, forming an unspoken understanding before turning around and beginning a feigned counterattack.

Among the five squads, the vanguard consisted of GP03, GP04, and NT-X, followed closely by GP01 and GP02, along with six GM Customs forming the nuke escort team.

Bringing up the rear were the heavily modified GM, GM Cannon, and fully equipped G-line, leading another six GM Customs in the rearguard.

Of course, the fully equipped G-line piloted by Gis should have been under the command of the two GM Customs from the White Chaser.

Incidentally, those were two One Year War veterans under Arcadia's command, now nearing retirement.

When this formidable force—boasting a full five Gundams—burst onto the battlefield, not a single remnant Zeon unit could offer any meaningful resistance.

Even as waves of MS reinforcements were dispatched, they vanished like pebbles thrown into the sea, with no response returning.

Any attempt to suppress them with ship-based firepower was thwarted by Dendrobium deploying its I-field to defend the force.

Even if the enemy MS tried to destroy the I-field, the two Gundams flanking Dendrobium were not to be trifled with.

Ratatatatatata—

NT-X wasn't wielding a beam rifle but a machine gun enhanced with extra propellant charges, capable of penetrating even Zaku shoulder shields.

Meanwhile, the wrist-mounted Gatling guns had been replaced with dual beam cannons—both rapid-firing and powerful.

But these weapons were mostly for NT-X's self-defense.

The mobile suit's main weaponry lay in its two wired-controlled BITs!

Under Amuro's command, these large-scale remote weapons moved like fully autonomous fighter crafts, unleashing devastating suppression fire!

Many Zeon MS units were shot down before they could even get within range of the formation—taken out by the floating cannons of NT-X.

Yes, the entire MS force was within Amuro's protective range.

That's because NT-X was equipped with the Psycommu system, amplifying Amuro's perception.

Even if enemy pilots tried to trace the beam fire back to its origin to retaliate, all they saw when they turned was empty space.

And in the next second, they'd be riddled by NT-X's machine gun fire—exploding into yet another nuclear fireball in the void.

"Gundam… the embodiment of the Federation's will—Hey! What are you doing?! Why aren't your subordinates intercepting them?!"

Delaz, sitting in his command seat, furiously shouted at the Cima Fleet, which had halted at a considerable distance from the Gwaden, refusing to move in for protection, despite the MS force weaving halfway through the formation on screen.

At the same time, he couldn't help but feel puzzled. The enemy could've easily charged in and destroyed his ship, but their trajectory showed they were heading above the flagship instead.

The ships left behind in the rear tried to turn and counterattack, but they were quickly destroyed by mega particle cannon fire from the direction the MS had come from—three Pegasus-class ships, acting as the MS force's solid rear guard, had launched a full assault on the enemy fleet!

"Well now, aren't you sounding just like those big shots from the One Year War."

Cima now made no effort to hide her betrayal.
