Chapter 56: Super Interesting
Was this going to be like some noble getting a domain?
Or just jurisdiction?
Yeah— that's probably it.
They'll just tell him his jurisdiction and explain his rights within them.
"What were you thinking, Trent?" He scoffed, looking at the bed.
Getting all excited about a noble domain bullshit.
He looked at his phone— 7:46 am.
A few more minutes until they see the surprise.
And I get to do what I want while exploring their authority without having to give anything more.
Beautiful.
Let's go back home.
Sightseeing would be could but there's no time.
And... I have to set the marriage straight before I come undone.
He'd thought about it before sleeping— these emotions weren't some jokes.
And they were definitely going to become bigger if this continues.
Can't let my guard down.
She's just too damn... Beau---
Come on, Man.
You're smart enough to know your boundaries.
"Ave?" He muttered, looking at the art hanging on the wall.
"Hello, Trent"
"Hello. Can you tell me the stats I currently have?"
"Affirmative. Your stats are—"
Strength— 16
Agility— 17
Stamina— 15
Intelligence— 34
Hmmm...
That's a serious boost, isn't it?
From the pathetic single digits.
Even if they're mostly a little stronger than an average adults.
When next will I get stats rewards?
He growled as he'd expected some kind of reply from Ave.
"Guess I'll just wait..."
Time to leave.
_____
He sighted them as he stepped out of the elevator— Scarlet was feeding Xander while they chatted.
Honestly... They look great together, don't they?
He stood and watched them for a while until Scarlet sighted him and signalled Xander.
A man hurried towards him as he walked towards them.
"Good morning, Sir" he greeted, bowing slightly.
"Good morning..." Trent replied confused.
"The key card?" He pulled it out of his pocket and stretched it.
"N–No..." The man stuttered looking at the key card.
"Y–Yes..." He snatched it and looked up, "...Thank you. Uh..."
What the heck was wrong with him?
No? Yes?
"Is there's a problem?"
"Ye– N–No..." The man took a deep breath and dipped his hand into his pocket.
Trent shifted backwards, eyes trailing the area— Scarlet and Xander were walking towards him.
"H–Here..." The man stretched a card— a black steel card with gold designs.
Trent took the card from him
What an exquisite card— A gold star at the middle and some parts of the edges with gold.
No name was written on i. Just blank.
He turned to card around.
"What's this card?"
The man flinched as if the question made him fear.
"I–It's the card to our hotel— Y–You, Sir, have been registered as a VIP member of the hotel. Our facilities are open to you at all times"
Oh?
With just this card?
And why was this man so nervous?
Scarlet reached where they stood before Xander. She'd left Xander when she noticed the awkwardness of the conversation Trent was in.
"What's going on?" She asked, glancing at the man.
Trent waved the card, "Something about---"
"VIP membership?" Her eyes widened a little as she saw the card.
The man sweated profusely in this short amount of time.
"Do you need some rest or something?" Trent asked, worried.
Why be scared of a customer?
"N–No, Sir" the man gulped, glancing at Xander as he reached them.
"What's happening, Sir?"
"It's..." Trent looked at the card, then at the Man.
"I just have to present this when next I come, yeah?"
"Y–Yes, Sir. There is a contactless antenna for verification" he stuttered, eyes darting around the place.
Ugh.
"Alright. Just have the valet bring out my car. It's a---"
"W–We'll bring it out, Sir" the man cut in before he could even complete the sentence.
Ah. What's wrong with this guy?
Trent turned to Scarlet who seemed fascinated by what was going on and was whispering to Xander.
"You can go now. Thank you very much" Trent exhaled, tucking the card away.
"A–Alright, Sir... A–All thanks to you" the Man bowed— head halfway towards the floor and scurried off.
What the hell was that?
I couldn't even get his name.
Trent watched as he scurried away.
Wait. Was his legs trembling right now?
For real?
"D–Do---" he stuttered, turning to Scarlet and Xander.
"Huh?" Scarlet looked at him,
"Do I look scary?" He asked, confused.
Xander burst into a soft laugh for a moment before straightening his expression.
"Honestly..." Scarlet mused taking time to scan him,
"Yeah" she nodded sharply,
"Like a monster. It's good more people are starting to see what I see"
Trent raised his brow as Xander burst into laughter again and nudged her.
"D–Don't mind her, Sir..." He shook his head. "I'm sure he was just nervous meeting a customer so high up his pay grade"
Hmmm...
"You're lying to him, Darl... He looks like a monster. He's black hearted too and is a corporate slave master"
Trent sighed, just looking at her.
What should I do with her for fucks sakes?
"Stop it, Yen..." Xander looked at her, a bit more seriously this time.
Yen?
Trent's brows shot up, nose wrinkling.
Ugh.
She still hasn't told him her real identity, huh?
"He's a monster..." She continued, looking at Xander, "You're my cute cookie monster..." She purred, winking.
Wow..
"Let's get going" Trent shook his head.
"You'll meet me at the helipad site, yeah?"
"T–There's no need for that, Sir" Xander pushed her face away softly and turned to him.
"What? The---"
"The Chopper's outside" Scarlet cut in, pouting at Xander.
"They gave us permission to land at a wide space this morning"
Oh.
But that Man had already gone out to get it no?
"They'll retrieve the car from here, no?"
"Yeah" she looked towards the door.
"They will" she exhaled, glancing at Xander and placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Let's go"
_____
He pulled his phone out while Xander and Scarlet continued their talk about growing their assigned companies more.
They'd been talking about the projects with Reeve Technologies and how Scarlet was handling the situation with Zion Foods.
"8:56..." He muttered, glancing at them.
Should I leave this a bit more?
Maybe test it over the whole day?
Just until the market closes.
Would that be how they'd calculate the percentage gain he brought them at Lumina?
"I'll just tell Yvaine when it's time" he muttered.
"Sir?" Xander turned to him, not hearing what he'd said.
"It's nothing" he smiled, turning the phone screen off.
It rang before he could tuck it away— Isak?
What's going on?
He denied the call and proceeded to send a message instead.
I'M KIND OF BUSY RIGHT NOW.
I'LL CALL YOU BACK.
Sent.
Before he could leave the Isak's message page, a message came in from Isak.
A picture of a Helicopter— the Super Puma Eurocopter. And a message.
THE OLD MAN SAYS THIS IS A GIFT.
CALL ME WHEN IT'S ALRIGHT.
A gift?
"You look excited..." Scarlet teased, looking at his expression.
"What's the occasion?"
Xander looked at him quietly too, curious about what was happening.
He chuckled softly and turned the phones screen to them.
"Woah..." Xander gasped, eyes widened as he saw the picture.
"Are you buying that?"
Scarlet stood up and took the phone.
"Bought..." Trent mused, leaning back on the seat.
"It's a gift?" Scarlet looked up,
"Who gives this kind of gift?" She raised a brow, glancing at Xander as he took the phone.
"Fuck..." Xander mused, passing the phone back to Trent.
Huh?
That's the first time I've heard him use such foul language.
Trent giggled as he took the phone, looking at their expressions.
"A Super Puma Eurocopter as a gift is just... Damn..."
Scarlet looked at him for a while and then at Trent
"What did you do for such a gift? You've got to stop gatekeeping and share the grace. Prove you're not a monster"
"Prove?" Trent scoffed.
"Yeah... Then I can downgrade you to a lesser evil"
Ha...
A good evil?
"You just have to help them make over $200 million" he chuckled, tucking the phone away.
"Fucking showoff..." she huffed, clicking her tongue.
"See? This is why I said he's a monster"
Xander laughed softly,
"Should I start trading with you, Sir? Perhaps I could buy one for myself soon"
Wait.
That's honestly not a bad idea, is it?
Trent leaned forward.
With the information from Ave, gathering talents from major sectors of life and sharing them the tips as a group would build a giant organization quickly, won't it?
What if it gets on Lumina's bad side?
Having a separate group that works just for my cause would be great though.
"That's a great idea..." He muttered.
"What?" Scarlet blinked,
"You're really going to help? You better not be kidding right now" she looked at him, brows raised.
"I'm sure he's not---"
Xander paused as a message entered his phone.
"Sir..." He raised his head up slowly from the phone.
"Is there a problem?" Trent asked,
"It's gotten interesting" he passed the phone with a grin.
