Chapter 267: Silence
There was no sound around them as they all looked at Shadeva as if they had heard the most profane thing ever in their entire life.
And truly, how could they not be surprised?
For Ebony, she never once thought that love was something possible for her sister—not because she was heartless, but because she only cared about the shadow realm and them.
Only family.
Besides, she never showed interest in any romantic relationship even though there were hundreds of men who would come every day to meet her and ask her out back in the day.
Men powerful enough to trample realms and worlds alike.
And that woman, who was heartless when it came to men, was here declaring her love so openly, without any shame?
'What the fuck…?' Ebony's brain was being heated. There were so many nonsensical and ridiculous things that had been happening since the start of this fight, and she just couldn't wrap her head around all of them.
This made her extremely uncomfortable, so much that her head was starting to literally be heated.
That's what happens when someone who usually plans, anticipates, and controls everything around her suddenly finds herself in the middle of an avalanche of incomprehensible situations.
But that was not only Ebony, the shadows beside and behind Shadeva too were shocked.
They looked at her as if betrayed, like how a child would look at his mother after she had decided to marry another man.
Shadeva observed all of their expressions and couldn't help but laugh.
"It's only because you don't know him." Shadeva said softly, raising her head to the sky as she looked at the distant celestial and beautiful white phoenix.
Her smile widened even more.
"I am afraid if you know him, you might fall for him too but…"
Suddenly, the atmosphere turned heavy and dark. The shadows around them twisted and started to rise slowly from the ground as if being called by their queen.
"…you better not fall for him, Ebony."
"I am not into sharing the one I love with my own sister." She said with a dark voice.
'I am not at that level of degeneracy yet…' she added in her mind, telling herself to stop being influenced by the other girls.
Ebony looked at her, confused for a moment, before a scornful expression appeared on her face,
"I do not fall in love." She said curtly, her voice cold.
Shadeva shrugged,
"I would love that to be the case actually, but we know it's a lie." She said.
Then she looked at Ebony with a serious expression,
"And we have wasted enough time. Tell me why you sealed me." Shadeva said, then she waited for Ebony's answer.
But Ebony stayed silent, stubborn and not wanting to say anything.
At least that's what Shadeva thought, or even anyone watching—or maybe reading this—would think.
But that's not the case actually.
No matter how annoying and controlling Ebony was, she loved her siblings. And she loved even more Shadeva who had protected them when they were nothing and weak.
That's exactly why she didn't want to tell her.
Because telling her meant involving her. And if she was involved, then those beings will know that she was no longer sealed and they will come for them.
And needless to say…they will all die if they do.
So the best option, for her, was to not tell anything and make her go back to where she came from and stay undetected.
But Shadeva wouldn't accept that today.
"Fine. I am not in a hurry, we will have this discussion once we are back in our world."
"Noah or even any of the girls will make you speak." Shadeva decided.
"Do you think they can make me talk if I don't want to?" Ebony sneered.
Shadeva just smiled, planning to either ask Zara for help or Alice.
Maybe too Elizabeth or even Yuki.
Many options to tortur—no, to interrogate her sister.
'Ah…I am being influenced by them a little bit too much.'
Shadeva complained, but her face bore a small satisfied and anticipated smile.
She couldn't wait to see them all again, especially…
'…Noah, you player…'
'…you will have one more woman in your harem.'
She shook her head, because even if she knew all that, she couldn't stop herself or simply…
She didn't want to.
'…I cannot wait.'
We, too, cannot wait.
…
"So…can I know why you are sitting so far from me?" Noah asked as he tilted his head, amused by the will of this realm's reaction.
Even after everything was solved, she still seemed to instinctively fear Noah.
"I-I feel more at ease with this distance." She said as she sat on a chair made of shadows almost a kilometer from Noah.
Noah's lips twitched but he didn't say anything on this matter.
"What's your name?" He asked as he crossed his legs atop each other and put his head in his right palm.
His throne was white—a stark contrast with all the shadows and darkness around him. And that's what made it more remarkable.
"Nixie." The will—Nixie—said simply.
Noah nodded.
"I have a question for you, if you do not mind, Nixie." Noah started then, without even waiting for Nixie's response, he continued,
"I would love to know if you have any knowledge about origin and their emplacements?"
The moment this question was asked, Nixie's body immediately went rigid for a moment before she forcefully controlled herself but…
"Well, seems like you know." Noah's voice rang out as he looked at Nixie with a smirk.
She cursed under her breath.
"I…I do." She answered, reluctantly.
"Then tell me the type of origin it is and its location."
She didn't respond immediately, as if resisting the urge to respond but couldn't as she was obliged.
She could no longer disobey Ester, let alone Noah who made her into this situation. So with a bitter voice,
"There are two origins. The origin of shadow and the origin of formlessness…"
She stopped briefly then,
"…their location is here…in the shadow realm. Inside one of the forbidden zones."
And at her response,
"…how convenient."
Noah muttered with a slight smirk.
