Chapter 08: The Two New Aurors
After applying a few simple charms to conceal any noise coming from him, Harry moved after the two young guards.
He continued to follow them as they passed by the fourth and fifth floors, while complaining about the task they had been asked to perform and wondering where the dementors had gone.
'They cannot feel them?.' Harry wondered. He knew exactly where his creations were.
After his encounter with them at the rooftop of the fortress, the dementors flew around for a while before settling back on the top floor.
"Ahh!" the male guard screamed all of a sudden.
A dementor appeared from behind a wall just as he was about to reach the top floor of the prison. The shock made him lose his balance and fall back onto the stairs.
"Mark!" the other guard exclaimed while rushing back to assist her companion.
Two more dementors flew down and stood in her way, preventing her from continuing to move.
"What are you doing?!" she yelled at the two creatures in front of her.
Harry did not want to waste this chance that his children had given him.
The young wizard was laying on the ground at the end of the stairs. Blood was pouring from a wound on his head, and he appeared to be unconscious.
Harry located his wand just a few feet away from the wizard and rushed to get it before this one woke up.
As he grasped the wooden artifact in his hands, he felt a faint connection with it. This wand was not his, but he could still make use of it for the time being.
The female had yet to notice him. Her attention was on the two dementors in front of her.
"Expecto Patronum!" She produced a powerful white light from her wand.
Harry clenched his teeth. His mental connection with the dementors allowed him to give them simple orders from a distance, but if he was close by, he would also feel what the creature felt.
"Tsk!" This spell didn't exist during his time, but thanks to Harry's memories, he knew what it was.
The Patronus was a weapon designed to combat his children...a concentrated wave of positive emotions that would overwhelm them and force them away.
'I should have predicted that the guards of this place would know that spell.' He managed to recover from the initial shock, but now all the dementors in the area had gone away, escaping from that white light.
"Who are you?!" The female guard had now spotted him, kneeling down close to the spot where her partner had fallen.
He moved his fingers to hide away the wand in his right hand and looked at her.
It was a young girl with short pink hair. She was looking back at him with clear confusion on her face.
"Harry Potter?"
'Does she know me?.' He had no memories of this woman, but she didn't seem hostile towards him at least.
"What in Merlin's name are you doing in Azkaban?" she asked him.
However, her attention quickly shifted to her partner, who was injured and unconscious.
"Oh no, Mark. How did this happen? The dementors tried to attack us… that should not be possible."
"Why not?" Harry was curious to know how this Ministry of Magic had managed to secure the cooperation of his children.
The young woman looked at him.
"Nevermind that... I don't know how you ended up in this place, but we need to get out of here. Something weird is going on with the dementors, and my partner is injured." She stored her wand in the holster and tried to lift the body of the young man.
"Urgg!... Could you help me out here? He is a bit heavy for me alone."
Harry observed the situation and made a decision.
"Of course." He offered the young woman a reassuring smile and approached them.
Once he was close enough, he pretended to help her hold onto her partner for a moment while moving the wand in his right hand behind her.
A quick flash of red light, and she went down.
"A Stunner... simple but effective. Especially at this range." He did not want to take his chances with more complex spells...not when he was using a borrowed wand and a new body that he was yet to grow accustomed to.
Harry looked around. There were plenty of empty cells on this floor.
He grabbed onto the arms of the young male guard and dragged him closer to one of these empty cells.
"Open," he said as he placed his hand on the center of the lock.
This one opened with a satisfying click.
"Good to know that I am still recognized in this place." When he built the fortress, he had attuned all the runic arrays to his magical signature.
Even if his body was new, his soul was the same, and this was the very source of his magic.
"That will make things easier when I come to reclaim what's mine." Wasting no time, he threw the guard inside.
Before closing the door, he made sure to cast a few extra restriction spells on the man, just in case he woke up too early and began to call for help.
He then moved to the young woman.
"I have other plans for you... Prendimus." Black chains appeared around her and wrapped onto her body, binding her arms and legs.
Harry then approached and removed the wand holster on her wrist.
Once he was sure she had no more weapons hidden in her clothes, he woke her up, removing the stun effect.
"What the hell are you doing?!" She immediately reacted with violence.
"I need your assistance to retrieve something of mine." Harry spoke to her in a cold tone, lacking any kindness or empathy for her situation.
She tried to wrestle against her restraints. "Let me go right now! You are going to be in so much trouble for this. I am an Auror! You can't d—"
Harry's wand moved closer to her face. "Imperio."
