Harry Potter: I Am a Dragon

Chapter 19: 18

The weather outside was disgusting. The girls and I were sitting in a carriage that swayed rhythmically as it travelled along the tracks.

Astoria sat opposite, looking enviously at Daphne, whose head was resting on my shoulder. But the weather and the road did their job, taking us one by one into the realm of dreams.

It's cold... In my dream, I saw him... The one I considered my father, the one who kidnapped me from my mother and used me for his own purposes. The one who helped Dovakin pierce my heart. The one who looked me in the eyes, laughing and rejoicing at my death. He is happy, he is celebrating my death. I see his golden throat, which appeared from his golden armour... I hate him! I will kill him!

My hand grabs his thin, cold throat. My claws dig in, piercing his skin and spilling golden blood! Yes! It's a dream, I know it, but this dream is so sweet...

"Ald...

"Alduin...

"Wake up!

I don't want to wake up, I'm so happy seeing Akatosh writhing, trying to escape my grip. I want to devour the soul of the traitor!

I pull him towards my face, open my mouth, and begin to tear out the soul of the golden lizard... A distance of ten centimetres between our lips is connected by a silver thread, through which a ball, which is the soul, slowly passes.

This is the most painful way to consume someone. The victim feels their soul being devoured alive. Come to me...

"Alduin!" - The cries of Daphne and Astoria woke me from my sleep.

I open my eyes and see a withered face in front of me, like a mummy. The creature was in a black robe and hung on my arm, which was clutching its throat, a dead weight, and a barely noticeable silver mist flowed from its mouth.

Astoria and Daphne looked at me, trying to stop themselves from shaking, while Luna continued to sleep. It seemed that nothing could disturb her.

Letting go of the creature in the black robe, its throat crumbled to dust and disappeared, I licked my lips with satisfaction. I felt that this monster had devoured dozens of souls that had sustained its life, and I had taken them all.

"Aldi, are you okay?" Daphne asked, taking my hand.

"Yes, I had a nightmare... What happened here?"

"The train stopped, we woke up when the Dementor came in and started pulling happy memories out of you, coming closer to kiss you, which... Which...

"Was supposed to consume your soul." Daphne finished for her younger sister.

"We tried to wake you up, but you grabbed the Dementor by the throat and pulled him towards you, sucking something out of him.

"Ah, I see. It was his soul, which had dissolved several other souls that he had absorbed.

The train started moving, and the girls occupied my arms, hugging them and warming themselves. For them, I raised my temperature and tuned my aura to one of care and protection.

There was a knock on our compartment door, and it opened. A man I knew quite well was looking at us. He had light brown hair with a few grey strands. His clothes were patched, he had the look of a beaten dog, and he smelled like a wolf. It was one of my father's friends, Lupin.

"Children, are you all right?" Seeing Luna asleep and the girls hugging me, Lupin apologised and closed the door.

We sat there, beginning to forget what had happened, until Daphne asked the question that was on her mind.

"Al, what's it like to consume souls?

Astoria listened intently, waiting for an answer. I began to think about how to describe it.

"It's quite difficult to describe. It's probably similar to the feeling you get when you come in wet and cold, but then you lie down in a hot bath, holding a warm mead in your hands and sipping it. Something like that, only it's what the soul feels.

"I still don't understand.

"Would you like to feel it?

"Is that possible?

"Yes, just don't overdo it, or you'll get hooked. It won't happen to me, but for you, if you do it often, it will be like a drug.

"How often can you do it?

"Once every six months. It will be good for your soul, and in time you will become as powerful as gods.

The girls looked at each other uncertainly and fell silent. It was clear that they wanted to, but they were afraid.

I took Astoria first, touched her chin, lifted her head, and kissed her lips.

One hundredth of what I had absorbed from the Dementor passed through the silver thread into the girl. Astoria shuddered a couple of times, clutched my clothes with her hands, pressing herself closer, and froze in place until she broke the kiss and moaned softly. I hadn't expected such an effect.

I repeated the same procedure with Daphne, who reacted the same way as her sister...

The girls lay on my shoulders with satisfied smiles, a barely visible silver mist streaming from their mouths.

Half an hour before arriving at school, I pushed them away and made them change into our faculty uniforms.

At the festive banquet, we were greeted by Dumbledore, who delighted us all with the news that Dementors would be guarding the school by order of the Ministry of Magic. This was followed by announcements about the appointment of two new people.

Lupin entered the hall; he would be our DADA teacher. Behind Lupin came Lily, who had taken over as Dova's dean and OWLs teacher.

Lupin joined the teachers' table, and Lily sat down at Dumbledore's table with a satisfied smile.

To everyone else, it seemed as if we were the elite, which was indeed the case. There was a black wooden table decorated with gold carvings. A white tablecloth covered the table, on which stood silver cups and gold plates. There were several drinks on the table, some of which contained a small amount of alcohol. In the middle of the table was a tray with a roast piglet, lots of fruit and desserts. All this was for only five people dressed in black cloaks with silver embroidery. Lily was wearing a black dress decorated with a white collar and belt, which represented the colours of our faculty.

I should note that this dress flattered the girl's figure, causing many guys to stare at her, and Snape couldn't take his eyes off her at all. I'll have to keep an eye on him.

Lily slept with us last night. The Room of Requirement created a separate bedroom for her, but it wasn't needed; she simply came to me and asked Daphne and Astoria to leave us alone. There, I decided to give her part of the Dementor's soul I had absorbed.

Why did I decide to do that? Why not? They will live with me, which means they will become strong. Such nourishment over a hundred years will make them demigods.

Having received the energy of the soul, Lily dissolved in pleasure and fell asleep. A couple of minutes later, the sisters made their way to us.

Time began to move again. In the summer, we chose subjects to study further. I took Runes and... Uh oh! How could I not take it? To see Lily as a teacher? RRrrrr...

I began to notice that being in a human body had revealed and changed many traits of my character, but I had no intention of changing or regretting anything. This situation gave me new feelings and pleasures, which I, with my characteristic greed, took and devoured to the last drop.

The first lesson in UZMS was held a week after the start of the school year. As usual, Daphne and I went to class with Gryffindor and Slytherin.

"Children, today I would like to show you Hippogriffs," said Lily, standing by the enclosures where the animals were kept.

"Remember, they are very proud creatures. If you don't show them respect, they may attack you. Or they must recognise you as someone above them.

"Mrs Potter, can you explain how that works?" asked Hermione, who had already taken off her mask. The traces of my curse had almost disappeared, but a couple of scars were still visible.

"Yes, Miss Granger. Aldwin, Daphne, come out. I don't think I need to tell you who will show what.

Daphne and I stepped forward, standing by the enclosure.

"I think my faculty will be able to demonstrate both types of contact with these animals. Daphne, you go first.

The girl climbed over the fence and approached the Hippogriff at a distance of three metres. Looking him in the eyes, she curtsied, spreading the imaginary hem of her dress to the sides. The Hippogriff, without taking his eyes off her, bowed in response, then allowed her to stroke his beak.

"That's how you make first contact with a Hippogriff. Alduin, you're next," said Lily with a smile, knowing what was coming.

What option could there be for me? To hell with Cithis! Am I going to bow down to some chicken?

Approaching the animal with confident steps, I looked at it with superiority and a smile, showing everyone that I had no respect for this rooster.

The animal became alarmed and began to rear up, but I continued to look at it with contempt, as if it were a piece of meat, which is essentially what this hippogriff was to me. The horse began to growl at me, and I shouted back at it, showing who was boss. For added effect, I released my aura.

The hippogriff apparently understood who it was raising its voice at and began to back away. I advanced on it, rapidly closing the distance between us. When I caught up with it, I grabbed its beak with my hand and looked into its eyes. The animal began to bow its head, ignoring my hand that was clenching its beak.

"Lower!" I shouted, lowering the animal.

The hippogriff bent its front legs, kneeling down and touching the ground with its beak. Looking at it one last time, I expressed with my eyes all my opinion of this creature's lowly place, turned around, and walked towards my students.

When I reached them, I saw their faces full of shock and disbelief.

"That's the second method. You have to be above the Hippogriff, not just in your imagination, but in strength, confidence and character," said Lily with a smile.

"What's so difficult about that?" Ron said.

"If he could do it, so can I." That was Draco.

"Really? Then show us who's taller than a Hippogriff. They can sense it," said Lily eagerly.

Ron went first, while Draco decided to play it safe and watch what might happen.

When Ron approached with a confident stride (in his opinion), the Hippogriff roared and charged at the redhead.

Lily cast a calming spell on the animal just in time, causing it to fall on its back and roll around happily in the grass.

"Very bad, Mr. Weasley. You almost died because of your unfounded pride. Mr. Malfoy, will you show him how it's done?

The blond tried not to show his fear. He walked confidently towards the animal, but when he looked into its eyes, he panicked. When the Hippogriff ran after the blond boy, Draco stumbled and fell to the ground. The animal reared up, ready to trample the Malfoy heir, but Lily cast a spell in time, knocking the animal aside and then casting a calming charm.

"Mr. Malfoy, congratulations, you have been trampled and torn apart by a Hippogriff. Now, class, who wants to try getting acquainted, and in what way?

No one else dared to challenge the Hippogriff, preferring to bow their heads to the animal.

Lily continued to watch, keeping an eye on the students, occasionally glancing at me with a meaningful smile...

The boring lessons began again, and my only escape was UZMS. Lily had a talent for teaching children, and she would joke to me, "I raised two dragons, how could I not handle a handful of kids?"

Lily lived in our house in Hogsmeade, sometimes spending the night in my room... But let's not talk about that! Now Daphne and I were in another DADA lesson.

Before class, Lupin cleared all the desks, leaving an old cupboard in the middle of the classroom, from which we could sometimes hear rustling. Daphne, Gryffindor and I stood in the classroom listening to Lupin.

"A boggart is a ghost. No one knows what it really looks like because a boggart changes its form depending on what or who the person standing in front of it is afraid of. They usually live in the nooks and crannies of houses: under beds, in drawers under washbasins, in cupboards, sometimes even in grandfather clock cases, because they like the dark. While the boggart is, say, in a wardrobe, it is not yet anything, because it does not know who or what it will scare. People also have an advantage when there are many of them, because the boggart does not know whose fear to choose. The best weapon against a boggart is laughter. There is also a special spell against boggarts. You have to imagine some detail that will make the boggart laughable and say firmly and clearly: "Ridiculous." "Said Lupin.

"Now we will learn how to fight this creature. One by one, you will come up and look your fear in the eye, trying to overcome it and laugh at it. Mr. Weasley, you're first.

Weasley stepped forward uncertainly, his wand at the ready. When the cupboard opened, a huge spider came out. The redhead groaned, but managed to cast the spell, putting the spider in roller skates, causing it to fall when it tried to stand up.

The students came out, looking at their fears and turning them into something funny. There were mummies, clowns, Santa Claus, snakes, and even Snape.

When Daphne came out, the ghost took my form. I stood there, smiling at the girl, taking the engagement ring off my finger, and just as I was about to throw it on the ground, Daphne cast a spell, turning the boggart into me with a bouquet of roses. Heh, I didn't think she'd be afraid that I'd leave her...

It was my turn. Standing in front of the boggart, which was still in my form, I felt something knocking in my head, asking to enter to read my mind and search for fear.

Out of curiosity, I opened it. I was very curious to know what I was afraid of.

A second, two seconds, the boggart assessed my fear and dissolved into a mist, from which emerged...

"You... Alduin... You have disappointed us! We don't want to see you!" said a girl in a black dress with chestnut hair. It was my mother, Death.

Death dissolved, giving way to a new image. I couldn't move, paralysed by fear and despair. I couldn't understand what was happening...

"Hmm, you failed. You are the biggest mistake of our lives. We should have left you in the darkness," said the girl with fiery hair and blue eyes... Magic...

She left, giving way to a third...

"What a pity, but never mind, we'll find a replacement!" said the blonde with brown eyes, Destiny...

The students and the teacher didn't understand what was happening. They just stood there and watched.

A new silhouette emerged from the mist.

"I regret giving birth to such a monster!" said Lily with contempt, looking at me.

"Monster! A beast!" - Daphne and Astoria shouted in my face.

Unable to bear it, I fell to my knees and lost consciousness...
