Harry Potter: Journey to Godhood

Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Absorbing Energy

The scene just now left Garona, Khadgar, and Lothar utterly dumbfounded.

Legendary dragons, beings they had only heard of but never seen before, suddenly appeared—three of them at once.

Khadgar, who had some understanding of Aegwynn's past, was particularly aware of the significance of the term "guardian dragons."

These were none other than the dragon kings, the mightiest beings charged with protecting Azeroth.

Only now did they fully grasp the reinforcements Alaric had mentioned earlier.

"Reinforcements... of this level?" The three silently thought to themselves.

"First, there was that strange connection with Aegwynn, and now he's summoned beings of this magnitude. Who exactly is Archmage Sandor?"

Even Sargeras was taken aback by the sudden arrival of the two other guardian dragons.

"Alexstrasza, Ysera..." Sargeras trembled with rage. "So, you're here too... Half of the six guardian dragons have shown up... You truly caught me off guard."

"Come, Sargeras," Talonixia stepped forward and proclaimed loudly, "Face your destiny. Your defeat is inevitable. Azeroth will never fall into your hands."

"Is that so? Then let's see what you've got!" Sargeras roared furiously.

"I am the Demon King, the Dark Titan, Sargeras! You are nothing more than little worms graced by the Titans' gifts. Those who oppose me shall face only destruction!!"

He raised his hands and let out a deafening howl.

At first, everyone thought this was nothing more than a desperate struggle, but in the next moment, they realized how wrong they were.

Karazhan responded to the words of the Demon King.

The majestic magical tower answered its master. The nodes scattered throughout the tower were abruptly activated, and powerful magical energy began to coalesce within it.

Simultaneously, the tower's arcane pool, the reservoir of Medivh's accumulated energy over decades, was also triggered.

This energy began to flow into the Demon King's body like a massive whale drinking water.

"Damn it, stop him!" Aegwynn screamed. She knew all too well what the consequences would be. "Attack with everything you've got!"

"You know we can't," Ysera softly explained to the sorceress. "Karazhan's position is far too critical.

If we unleash our full power here and make a mistake, it could result in a massive explosion, leaving this place completely consumed by the Twisting Nether."

"However, we're not entirely helpless," Alexstrasza continued. "Go forth, warriors. Our power will be with you."

The three guardian dragons then bestowed their blessings upon the mortals.

Talonixia's blessing made their movements more agile and their speed faster, while imbuing their attacks with destructive lightning.

Alexstrasza's blessing filled them with vitality, allowing their wounds to heal rapidly.

Ysera's blessing enhanced their resistance to attacks and abnormal conditions.

Meanwhile, Alaric continuously applied a series of buff spells to Lothar and Garona.

Shields, Leap, Berserk, Haste, Deflection Field, Bear's Endurance, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, Eagle's Splendor, Fox's Cunning, Owl's Wisdom, Energy Resistance, Eagle Eye, Keen Hearing—an endless cascade of magic buffs.

Did this remind you of Ainz Ooal Gown applying a series of buffs before battling Shalltear? In truth, real magic offers far more versatility than that.

These buffs are the key to why many physical combat professions can rival mages in power.

In cross-profession comparisons, mages are always the apex. So what is the purpose of other professions? Or rather, how can other professions compete with mages of the same level?

It's not like the many fantasy novels that depict other professions as equal in power to mages, capable of defeating them in one-on-one combat.

It's as absurd as a soldier with knives and guns trying to defeat a scientist armed with machine guns and missiles.

Then why do other professions exist?

Aside from lower training costs and lesser talent requirements, other professions can utilize their foundational abilities to perform on par with mages under the influence of mage buffs, at least filling the gaps in a mage's own capabilities.

For example, although Lothar and Garona, as top-tier warriors and rogues, couldn't possibly match Alaric or Aegwynn, with the aid of top-tier mage buffs, they could fight Sargeras on equal footing.

As everyone attacked, the ambient magical energy around Sargeras instinctively launched counterattacks.

Arcane blasts shot towards Lothar and Garona, but thanks to their expert techniques and an array of top-tier buffs, they either blocked or dodged the attacks, steadily advancing through Sargeras's defenses.

Lothar wielded his greatsword with agility, parrying every energy attack aimed at him. The magically-enhanced Royal Greatsword deflected the arcane blasts as if batting away arrows.

Garona, even faster than Lothar, wove through the barrage of energy attacks with the precision of playing a bullet-hell game. None of the terrifying spells managed to touch her.

Their weapons, imbued with "Anti-Magic Power" and "Demon-Slaying" magic, now had the power to harm Sargeras in his current mortal mage vessel.

Even if the damage was limited, it was enough to have an impact. After all, Sargeras was only borrowing the body of a mortal mage.

As the two approached closer, Sargeras was forced to divert his attention from absorbing magic to countering them.

But they weren't his only threats.

Aegwynn, Talonixia, Alexstrasza, and Ysera launched a coordinated attack on Sargeras.

Aegwynn conjured a rainbow-like energy, a spell called "Prismatic Beam," containing the power of nearly all elements, which she unleashed at the Demon King.

Talonixia, Alexstrasza, and Ysera extended their hands forward, unleashing golden, red, and green destructive dragonfire imbued with their combined strength, scorching toward Sargeras.

Without transforming into dragons, this was how they wielded their dragonfire.

Faced with such a ferocious assault from all sides, even Sargeras had no choice but to raise a massive magical barrier to withstand it.

But he couldn't resist taunting.

"It's useless, completely useless," Sargeras declared.

"Unless you're willing to destroy this place, you'll never break through my defenses, which are connected to all of Karazhan's power.

But if this place is destroyed, Azeroth will lose its barrier entirely! So choose! No matter what you decide, both you and your world face only destruction."
