Harry Potter: The Legend of Nero Ravenclaw

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Little Heirs Gathering (2)

Alaric leaned forward, his signature smile firmly in place.

"Well, since I suggested this little game, I'll go first," he said. "Let's see if I can impress you." He dramatically unfurled his parchment, holding it up as though it were a prize trophy.

"I have 4 EX talents," he began, pausing for effect. "Air Magic, Light Magic, Beast Mastery & Training, and Animal Empathy."

Ember let out an appreciative whistle. "Four EX? Not bad, not bad. What else, golden boy?"

Alaric smirked. "Now for the SS talents: Herbology, Astronomy, Tactical Dueling, and Magical Beast Lore.

My O talents include Charms, Transfiguration, Healing Arts, and Advanced Herbology."

Lilith raised a brow. "Not bad at all, though I'd argue the magical beast related talents make sense for you.

Nero chuckled, his tone teasing. "I'm more impressed by the SS in Tactical Dueling. Hiding behind that angelic face, are we?"

Alaric waved him off with a feigned modesty. "Oh, come now. I'm harmless."

Ember snorted. "Says the guy who has 'Super Scary' stamped on his talent sheet four times. Alright, my turn!" She unfurled her parchment with a flourish, grinning like a cat about to pounce.

"I also got 4 EX talents: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Earth Magic, Runic & Ward Mastery, and Alchemy." Ember's grin widened as she continued.

"And SS?" Lilith prompted, arms crossed.

Ember's eyes sparkled. "Transfiguration, Potions, Fire Magic, and Magical Fitness.

And, for my O talents, Charms, Herbology, Advanced Herbology, and Advanced Potioneering. Boom."

Alaric gave a slow, deliberate clap. "I'll admit it, I'm impressed. Potions as SS? I didn't think you had the patience for it."

Ember shrugged. "Patience is overrated. Plus, blowing things up is part of the process. Makes it fun. Though Lilith might be more expert than me on this subject"

Lilith shook her head, chuckling. "You're incorrigible. I guess it is my turn." She produced her parchment and started listing her results.

"EX talents: Charms, Potions, Fire Magic, and Dark Magic." A sly smile crept across her face. "SS: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Ritual Studies, Battle Spells, and Advanced Potioneering. And my O talents: Transfiguration, Herbology, Runic & Ward Mastery, and Illusion Magic."

Nero let out a low whistle. "Dark Magic as EX and Defense Against the Dark Arts as SS? I can't tell if you're aiming to be an Auror or a dark lord."

Lilith shrugged, unbothered. "A good defense is knowing how to wield offense, wouldn't you agree?"

Ember snickered. "Honestly, Lilith, I don't know whether to be impressed or terrified of you."

Nero cleared his throat, stepping in. "Well, I suppose it's my turn. Let's see how I measure up." He unfolded his parchment, smoothing it out dramatically.

"4 is our magical figure. 4 EX talents: Transfiguration, Water Magic, Spell Magical Theory, and Defensive Magic & Barriers." Nero paused, his tone light.

"And your SS talents?" Ember pressed, leaning forward.

Nero grinned. "Charms, Arithmancy, Ritual Studies, and Tactical Dueling. As for my O talents, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Battle Spells, Fire Magic, and Earth Magic."

Lilith tilted her head, a hint of surprise in her voice. "Well, heir Ravenclaw, it seems you're quite the all-rounder."

Ember leaned back, tapping her chin. "You know, looking at all our results, we're absurdly complementary. If we pooled our strengths, we'd be unstoppable."

Alaric nodded, his expression unusually serious. "Agreed. Our talents cover every corner of magic. If we work together to cover our weaknesses, we'll elevate all our skills."

Lilith smirked. "Mutually beneficial collaboration. Very Slytherin. I approve."

Nero smiled thoughtfully. "I wonder if a similar realization led our ancestors to decide to work together to create Hogwarts."

The group fell silent for a moment, contemplating Nero's comment.

Breaking the quiet, Nero added with a grin, "In any case, we are ourselves. Honestly, I didn't expect to hit it off so well with three other people my age. And at that, so quickly. How about we renew our pact? We'll support each other, study together, raise our talents, and push one another to be the best. Deal?"

"Deal," they echoed, nodding in unison.

Ember leaned forward, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Alright, now that we're all best friends, let's share something fun. Troll talents. Come on, it'll be hilarious."

The group groaned in unison.

Alaric raised a hand, chuckling. "Fine. But only if everyone has at least one Troll talent."

Lilith added, her tone firm, "And under one condition, what's said here stays here. No exceptions."

Ember clapped her hands together, practically glowing with excitement. "Alright, I'll go first. My Troll talent is... Defensive Magic & Barriers."

Alaric burst into laughter. "Fits you perfectly. Defense doesn't exactly seem like your strong suit. You're more of a 'blow things up first, ask questions later' kind of person."

She stuck her tongue out at him as he continued. "Mine's Purification Magic. I guess my Hufflepuff bloodline doesn't make me good at everything."

Nero smirked, crossing his arms. "Well, turns out Advanced Potioneering isn't my thing. I'd rather dissect magical components than mix them into a cauldron. Let's just hope I don't blow up Snape's classroom someday."

All eyes turned to Lilith, who sighed dramatically. "Divination. Don't expect me to read your tea leaves anytime soon."

The group erupted into laughter, finding solace in one another's company.

After a bit more lighthearted conversation, Nero stood up, brushing off his robes. "Alright, dear fellow founders, I hate to break up the fun, but I've got a date with an old hat, and I don't want to be late."

His expression turning grave Nero though 'Time to take a leap'
