Harry potter:Dark lord

Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Let’s give it a try

Robert purchased the lighter for ten copper knuts, a surprisingly low price that suggested the blue light emanating from it was invisible to others. Had everyone perceived this light, the cost would have been significantly higher.

After discovering several magical manuscripts in a second-hand bookstore, Tom and Robert returned to their rendezvous point, where Toby awaited them with numerous bags. As before, Toby transported everything back to the Hog's Head Inn.

Upon arrival, Robert inquired of Aberforth, the bartender, about the lighter. Aberforth, too, was unable to see the blue light. After hearing Robert's description, he recommended waiting for Dumbledore's return to seek his insight, given Dumbledore's extensive knowledge of alchemy. Agreeing with this advice, Robert decided to set the matter aside until Dumbledore's imminent arrival.

Back in their room, Tom immediately resumed his reading, driven by an unrelenting desire to become stronger. Meanwhile, Robert, equipped with five old wands he had recently acquired, felt compelled to experiment with some intriguing dark magic he had encountered in the wizard tower the previous night. Anticipating involvement in the underworld, he recognized the necessity of possessing self-defense strategies.

To practice dark magic, a secluded location was essential. Robert identified the first floor of the wizard tower as the ideal spot. Originally a laboratory, it now stood empty, the previous owner having sold all experimental equipment. This emptiness provided Robert with the perfect environment to practice dark magic without disturbance.

Aberforth observed Robert's swift return and his departure with Toby but chose not to intervene. Dumbledore had previously instructed Aberforth to allow Robert freedom of action, provided he refrained from any misconduct, indicating a significant level of trust in him. This trust was a result of the favorable impression Robert had cultivated with Dumbledore, a deliberate effort to avoid the scrutiny that Tom Riddle had faced in the original narrative.

Toby led Robert to the first floor of the wizard tower, which had been meticulously cleaned and organized, a testament to Toby's diligent efforts.

"Master Wade, if you require anything else, please inform Toby," the house-elf offered cheerfully.

"I need sturdy targets for practicing dark magic," Robert responded.

With a snap of his fingers, Toby conjured five or six black, human-shaped targets. Robert inspected one, noting its substantial thickness, suitable for withstanding the impact of dark magic spells. Satisfied, he instructed Toby to position the targets accordingly.

Observing Toby's efficiency, Robert pondered the possibility of learning Apparition. "Toby, could you assist me in learning Apparition?" he inquired.

Toby nodded but cautioned, "Master Wade, it's advisable to wait until you're older. Attempting to learn Apparition at your current age increases the risk of splinching."

Robert, intrigued, asked, "If I were to splinch, could you help me reassemble?"

"Yes," Toby confirmed. "When Master Sophic first practiced Apparition, Toby assisted him."

Encouraged, Robert decided to proceed. "Excellent! My safety is in your hands, Toby."

Toby, deeply moved by his master's trust, expressed concern, "Master, you are still young. Practicing Apparition now is dangerous."

Robert reassured him, "With you here, I'm not worried at all."

Overwhelmed, Toby exclaimed, "Toby will do his best to help Master learn to Apparate!"

Recognizing the house-elf's loyalty, Robert understood that trust was the greatest reward he could offer. Deciding to seize the moment, he declared, "Let's begin!"

Thus, under Toby's guidance, Robert embarked on learning Apparition, eager to master this valuable skill.
