Hatake Kakashi Absolutely Will Not Be a Chakra Unit!

Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Curry

Chapter 82: Curry

Minato wasn't the only one who wanted to be Hokage. As a child, Kushina had also made a vow.

'I'm going to be the first female Hokage of Konoha!'

And now, the result was that she had become the Hokage's woman. Normally, Kushina should have congratulated her boyfriend with the most enthusiastic attitude, but the thought of the effort he must have put in to become Hokage at this age made her heartache immediately overshadow her surprise.

So, Kushina looked tenderly at Minato Namikaze, who had made a great name for himself outside the village, and took off her apron.

Born in the Uzumaki clan of the Village Hidden by Whirling Tides in the Land of Whirlpools, Kushina had witnessed the destruction of her homeland as a child. Because she was scouted by Konoha ninja for her potential as a jinchuriki, she was brought back to Konoha and spared from disaster.

The feeling of loneliness and oppression nearly suffocated the young and helpless Kushina.

She didn't understand what the Nine-Tails was, but it didn't stop her from understanding that it was a monster.

The change of jinchuriki was only known to the high-ranking officials of Konoha. Before Granny Mito died from having the Tailed Beast extracted, she smiled and enlightened her, saying that to become the vessel of the Nine-Tails, one must first fill it with love. It was precisely this sentence that allowed Kushina to let go of her mental burden, face life with an optimistic attitude, and successfully become the new jinchuriki.

This was one source of warmth she found in Konoha. The second was given to her by Minato Namikaze, and it continued to this day.

"Minato, congratulations! But I will never admit defeat. The next Hokage will definitely be me!"

Kushina made such a vow again. The soon-to-be Fourth Hokage blocked out all his miscellaneous thoughts and responded to her words with his actions.

"Good luck."

They ate breakfast and lunch in one go. Kushina took out two thermal containers, with Rin's and Obito's names written on them respectively. She packed the curry and rice separately and was about to leave when Minato stopped her.

"I'll go. I have to go with the Third to pick up the Hokage robe this afternoon anyway."

"Be careful on the way."

Tidying up Minato's clothes, Kushina had already put herself in the role of a virtuous wife after marriage. She watched Minato leave with the thermos until he was out of sight, then gently closed the door.

On the street, people constantly greeted the famous Yellow Flash. Disciples from some of the major families who had received the news in advance also gave their most sincere blessings to this man who was not arrogant and radiated light and heat like the sun.

The entire village of Konoha was proud of this young man. Minato responded to them one by one, his etiquette perfect, leaving no room for fault, a slightly goofy smile on his handsome face.

To give his trust unreservedly to every single person in Konoha was the first requirement Minato set for himself after taking office, as long as they still considered themselves a part of the village.

As for the vermin harming Konoha, he would slowly uproot them.

"Jōnin Minato Namikaze."

Walking to a remote corner of the Uchiha compound, a patrolling Uchiha jōnin stood in front of him, blocking his path.

Nodding slightly, the blond man held up the thermos.

"I'm here to see my disciple, Obito Uchiha."

"Please wait a moment."

The patrolman quickly entered the compound. After getting permission from the Uchiha elder and the ANBU guarding Obito, the patrolman led Minato Namikaze to Obito's residence.

"Please don't stay too long."

"Thank you for your trouble."

Not making things difficult for the patrolman, Minato slowly pushed open the door to Obito's slightly messy home. The latter was lying on the bed, bored, fiddling with a scroll that detailed various Fire Release training methods.

"Still training at a time like this, Obito?"

"Sensei!"

Immediately scrambling up from the bed, Obito suddenly remembered he was only wearing a pair of shorts. He hastily threw on some clothes from the side and came bouncing over to his teacher.

"How is Rin?!"

"I haven't gone to see her yet. Lord Hokage told me she's out of danger. But you, what's all this about?"

Scratching his head, Obito pulled a chair with a backrest from the side, then sat on the bed himself. He opened the thermos, poured the curry over the rice, and dug in with a big spoonful.

"This taste... this is from Master Kushina, isn't it?"

"Yes, yes."

Seeing him eating so voraciously without any manners, Minato found it hard to be too critical.

"Did you really go to the Land of Rain?"

Unable to speak while chewing a mouthful, Obito nodded. Minato saw the spiral mask peeking out from under the blanket and reached out to pick it up.

"Is this what you wore when you fought Root?"

"...Mhm..."

Gulp. Swallowing a large mouthful of rice, he let out a satisfied sigh. The troublesome disciple's eyes were fixed on the remaining curry, not paying attention to his teacher.

"You little... do you have any idea how worried I was when I heard the news?"

"I didn't ask you to worry."

"What kind of attitude is that? Isn't it natural for me to worry about you?"

"Sensei, you're becoming more and more like Master Kushina. Even the way you ask questions is exactly the same."

"Don't joke around. Do you have any idea how serious this is?"

Minato pressed a hand to his forehead. He could imagine what kind of argument Kushina would have had with him if she had come to deliver the food. No wonder she didn't come with him today.

"Looking like this, you must have argued with Kushina again."

"So what if I did?"

"I'm becoming Hokage the day after tomorrow."

"Becoming Hokage... the day after tomorrow!?"

Obito was clearly choking. Minato helped pat his back. Once he had completely swallowed the mouthful of curry rice, he looked at his teacher as if he were a monster.

"You need to do some serious self-reflection."

"Absolutely not necessary. If Sensei becomes Hokage, won't I be the Hokage's disciple? You can get me out of here, right?"

"Write a three-thousand-word letter of repentance. I'll consider it based on your attitude."

"By the way, the person reviewing the letter of repentance is Kushina."

"No way!"

After gobbling down the curry rice, Obito noticed there was another portion. An idea came to him.

"Whose is this?"

"Rin's."

Tearing off a piece of paper, he quickly wrote a few lines, tucked it next to the thermos, and then pushed Minato towards the door.

"Rin must be hungry. You should hurry."

"I'm not done talking to you..."

Bang! The door was shut. Obito leaned against the back of the door and let out a long sigh of relief.

"This kid..."

Outside the door, Minato Namikaze looked at the note next to the thermos, sensed the prying eyes of about five ANBU members, and quickly left the Uchiha residence. He found a deserted spot and opened it.

The message on the note made his face turn serious in an instant.

His disciple's situation was far more severe than he had imagined.

'Sensei, I killed Danzo.'
