Hattori , Puppet Tyrant in Sand

Chapter 145: **Chapter 146: Inscribing Words**

To most ninjas, fists are used to strike, but for Hattori, whose fists possess super strength, they're weapons of death! If he throws a punch now, the already half-dead Rasa will die instantly!

However, just as Hattori's fist is about to hit Rasa, he suddenly stops, for he has seen someone — Karura!

Hattori isn't sure when she arrived. Karura doesn't say a word; she simply stands there, her gaze filled with a hint of sorrow.

Seeing this, Hattori's expression shifts.

"Sister, are you here to plead for Rasa?"

Hattori has made up his mind; even if Karura begs, he won't relent! But to his surprise, Karura gently shakes her head.

"No, I won't do that. Though I love Rasa deeply, I understand you as well. I know that even if I were to plead, it wouldn't change anything."

Her voice is calm, yet it makes Hattori feel uneasy, so he asks again.

"If I kill Rasa, will you seek revenge?"

"No!" Karura shakes her head again. "I only ask one thing of you."

"…"

Karura's words intensify Hattori's unease, but he still asks.

"What is it?"

"For the sake of our sibling bond, please take care of Temari and Kankuro."

She smiles at him as she speaks.

"I know this is a lot to ask, but since it's the first time your sister has ever asked you for anything, you won't refuse, will you?"

"…"

Hattori falls silent at her request. After a long pause, he shakes his head.

"No, I won't do it. Your children are your responsibility. As for Rasa… I think killing him outright would be too easy for him!"

With that, Hattori looks at Rasa lying on the ground, a glint of hatred flashing in his eyes.

"People say you can know someone's face but not their heart. Today, I'll carve this despicable man's true character onto his face for all to see!"

He reaches into his pouch, takes out a kunai, and prepares to inscribe words on Rasa's face. But then he realizes others might not recognize his handwriting.

So he turns to Karura and hands her the kunai. "Sister, you do it!"

"Huh…"

This unexpected development stuns Karura. "You're not going to kill him?"

"If you carve the words, I won't kill him. If you refuse, I'll kill him, and I won't take care of Temari and Kankuro either!"

"…"

Hearing this, Karura is at a loss, while Rasa coughs up more blood on the ground.

"Cough… Karura… do as he says… carve!"

"…Alright!"

Since Rasa insists, Karura reluctantly takes the kunai from Hattori and asks, a bit conflicted.

"What should I carve?"

"On his left cheek, carve: 'Despicable, Shameless, Lowly.'"

Karura: "(Д*)"

It's clear these aren't words of praise!

But knowing that if she doesn't comply, Rasa will die, and her two children will be left without care, she steels herself and carves the characters for "Despicable, Shameless, Lowly" on his left cheek, then looks at Hattori again.

"Is that enough?"

"Almost!"

Hattori takes out some ink he uses for painting puppets and smears it over the letters on Rasa's face.

"There! Now it's perfect!"

Karura: "(Д*)"

It's over!

Karura knows that once ink is applied to a wound on human skin, it becomes nearly impossible to remove unless the entire layer of skin is peeled away. This means the words she just inscribed, "Despicable, Shameless, Lowly," will stay on Rasa's face for life!

As she mourns Rasa's fate internally, Hattori's voice breaks her reverie.

"The left cheek is done. Now carve 'Filthy, Vile, Obscene' on his right cheek!"

Karura: "(Д*)"

Again?

At this point, Rasa can't take it anymore and shouts, "This is too much! Just kill me already!"

"Hmph, you wish!"

Hattori glares at him, delivering a swift chop that knocks him unconscious. He then looks back at Karura.

"Hurry up, Sister. If he bleeds out, that's on you!"

"Uh…" Hearing Hattori, Karura notices the blood flowing from Rasa's severed arm.

With no other choice, she quickly carves the characters for "Filthy, Vile, Obscene" on Rasa's right cheek. Once done, Hattori promptly coats the freshly carved letters in ink, carefully applying two even layers as if crafting a work of art.

Seeing this, Karura panics. "Stop! You need to stop the bleeding first!"

"Don't worry; we're not finished yet!"

Hattori points to Rasa's smooth forehead.

"We've already got the left and right characters. We can't leave out a headline, can we? Sister, carve 'The Shame of Sunagakure' right here on his forehead!"

Karura: "(Д*)"

Enough already!

At this moment, Karura regrets her decision. She now thinks that allowing Rasa to die with dignity might have been the better choice.

But since she's gone this far, she decides to go through with it. She carves the words "The Shame of Sunagakure" on Rasa's forehead. When finished, she takes the ink from Hattori's hands and quickly applies it to her inscription.

With the ink applied, she throws it back at Hattori and glares at him, "Alright, now can you stop the bleeding?"

"Of course!"

Hattori smiles slightly, then bandages Rasa's severed arm.

Seeing this, Karura breathes a sigh of relief and gives Hattori a conflicted look. "Hattori… I'm sorry."

"Mm." Hattori, focused on the bandage, nods slightly but says nothing more.

Watching him, Karura bites her lip.

"Hattori… even though Rasa wronged you, do you still consider me your sister?"

"If I say no, would you divorce Rasa and remarry?"

"Uh…"

Karura is taken aback by Hattori's question, finally managing a soft, "Thank you."

"Mm."

Hattori nods once more, tying off the bandage before he looks at her.

"All set. If there's any issue, just take him to Sunagakure's hospital. And if you want to thank me, make sure Rasa never appears before me again."

With that, he gets up to leave, but after a few steps, he turns back to Karura.

"Oh, and when Rasa wakes up, tell him this for me: in the face of absolute power, any scheme or trick will only lead to self-destruction. He'd do well to behave himself."

"…"
