Chapter 314: 【314】Why aren’t you surprised at all?

Tang Feng went to work at Ya Garden as usual the next day.

As soon as he entered the store, his master, Zhang Jicheng, pulled him into the back hall.

“Feng, the appraiser qualification assessment is tomorrow, how well have you prepared?”

Caught off guard by his question, Tang Feng felt somewhat embarrassed.

He had been busy dealing with Qin Lishen these past two days. Had his master not reminded him, he would have almost forgotten about the qualification exam.

Seeing his expression, Zhang Jicheng grew displeased, “Do you realize how important this assessment is to you? You must not be negligent. You have to take it seriously.”

“Yes, yes, yes.” Tang Feng did not dare to argue and simply kept agreeing.

“I will now tell you about the assessment’s rules and some points to note. Consider this a last-minute refresher. Learn as much as you can,” Zhang Jicheng said with a sense of resignation toward his disciple.

This guy clearly had extraordinary talent for the appraisal of antiques but had always shown a careless attitude, never taking the initiative to ask questions.

This gave him quite a headache.

“Alright, Master, you speak, I’m listening.” Tang Feng dared not further irritate the old man and quickly adjusted his attitude.

Zhang Jicheng looked satisfied and nodded, “The professional qualification assessment involves very little theory; it’s mostly practical.”

“That puts my mind at ease.” Tang Feng managed to be serious for two seconds before slipping back into a playful grin.

Practical work was his forte.

With the system’s assistance, his appraisal skill was enough to outshine any expert.

But he was somewhat lacking in theory.

It would be best if there were no theory test at all, and he could perform the practical throughout.

Zhang Jicheng tapped his head with a folding fan in hand, “Stop interrupting, just listen carefully.”

Tang Feng rubbed his head.

With his current strength, if he weren’t mindful of the other person being his master, he would have thrown a punch back straight away.

Zhang Jicheng didn’t care what he was thinking and continued to explain, “For the professional qualification exam, there are specialized fields including certificates for ceramic, jade, painting and calligraphy, and miscellaneous appraisers. One can choose the qualification exam to participate based on their area of expertise…”

“Can I take them all?” Tang Feng interrupted again.

“You can, but it’s unnecessary. To become a professional appraiser, it’s enough to successfully obtain one qualification,” Zhang Jicheng responded, somewhat exasperated by his disciple’s question.

Only this beloved disciple, with his exceptional talent, was adept in every category.

For others, being well-versed in just one would be quite impressive.

“The professional qualification exam is divided into junior, intermediate, and senior levels. Earning a junior qualification already makes one a professional appraiser, but it lacks authority. Only a senior qualification confers expert-level authority…”

“Can I take the junior, intermediate, and senior level assessments all at once?”

Tang Feng asked, interrupting once more.

Zhang Jicheng was almost driven insane by his disciple’s bizarre questions.

For other appraisers, when taking the exam for the first time, it’s common to opt for the easily passed junior qualification.

They first get the practicing license, then gain experience in the industry for a few years before taking the intermediate level.

Those eligible for the senior assessment are often well-known individuals who have been in the antiques business for many years.

Someone like Tang Feng, who wanted to complete all three levels of assessments in one go, could not be said to be unprecedented, but he was certainly extraordinary.

“While it’s possible, it’s still better to be cautious and not overambitious…” Zhang Jicheng couldn’t resist giving his disciple another earnest lecture.

Though Tang Feng agreed outwardly, he couldn’t help but disagree internally.

If he had the ability to pass with ease, why waste several years?

As Zhang Jicheng was explaining the specifics, Qin Yanan also happened to arrive at the store.

Upon seeing Tang Feng, she ran over excitedly, “I’ve got good news for you. Qin Lishen was arrested last night.”

“Oh,” Tang Feng nodded, showing little reaction.

“How can you be so unsurprised? I’m talking about Qin Lishen, Gao Shichang’s right-hand man. He was caught by security last night,” Qin Yanan thought he hadn’t heard her clearly, so she emphasised it again.

“I know, what about it?” Tang Feng looked at her with a puzzled face.

“Aren’t you at all surprised?” Qin Yanan, seeing his expression, wondered if she was being overly dramatic.

“What’s there to be surprised about? I was the one who sent him in,” Tang Feng revealed casually, dropping a bombshell.

“He was sent in by you? Are you joking?” Qin Yanan was immediately struck speechless.

In Zhonghai, Qin Lishen was considered a significant figure, with the backing of Gao Shichang.

That such a ruthless character was toppled by Tang Feng seemed utterly fantastic.

“Our enemy is Gao Shichang. What’s so startling about a mere Qin Lishen?” Tang Feng felt she was making too much of a fuss.

Qin Yanan didn’t know what to say.

This guy was dismissing someone like Qin Lishen and even boldly declaring enmity with Gao Shichang.

If word of this got out, it would probably make a lot of people laugh, right?

“By the way, how did you topple Qin Lishen? Can you tell me about it?” she asked, curious.

Feeling there was nothing to hide, Tang Feng explained the gist of the events to her.

“So you went to that neighborhood to find that woman in order to take down Qin Lishen?” Qin Yanan realised after hearing the story.

“That neighborhood? So you admit you were following me?” Tang Feng’s lips curled into a mocking smile.

Caught having slipped up, Qin Yanan quickly covered her mouth, vehemently denying, “No, I didn’t… I’m not that bored.”

“Really?”

Tang Feng leaned in close, staring intently into her eyes, “Look into my eyes and say that again.”

The distance between them was very close now, creating an intimate atmosphere.
