Chapter 68: Not Simple_2
"If....if I can really recover, given my age, I could easily have dozens more children!" A glimmer of hope flashed in Prince Xia Jing's eyes as he murmured, "I hope.... it's true! If you dare to deceive me, even if I expend all my fortune and exhaust all my means, I will not let you off!"
Despair is not frightening, because it has already reached the end of the road, there is nothing left to expect. What's truly terrifying is when life springs from certain death, only to find oneself plunged into another dead-end situation again!
That, that is genuinely distressing.
Chu Mo strode out of the ruined palace leisurely, as if on a walk. The guards along the way had received their orders, but the way they looked at Chu Mo still conveyed their fear.
They were utterly confused as to why their lord let this kid go.
The lord's only son was crippled by him, and then, after disappearing for more than half a year, he returns brazenly, and even audaciously comes knocking on their door. Two of the palace's high priests died at his hand and the whole palace was almost torn down by him... Even the palace's main gate was in ruins.
This was like a solid slap in the face!
But their lord still let him go...
When did their lord develop such a patience to endure this? Someone dared to come knocking at his door and yet he could bear it?
Not only were they unable to understand but even the families of the court officials outside who came to watch the excitement were similarly dumbstruck when they saw Chu Mo strolling out of the ruined palace gate.
As Chu Mo stepped out, he saw a large crowd had gathered outside, among which were Xu Fufu and Miao Yi Niang.
Upon seeing Chu Mo, Xu Fufu grinned, casting a triumphant glance at Miao Yi Niang, "Heh heh heh."
Miao Yi Niang was left dumbstruck. She had been there half the day and was nearly about to rush in. Despite her noble birth, having lived in Yanhuang City for so many years, how could she not understand what the mansion of a prince signified?
It was a dragon's pool and a tiger's den indeed!
Chu Mo barged in all by himself and even smashed the palace's main gate to smithereens. Given all the old and new resentment, how could Xia Jing, the lord of this place, let him go? She had been held back by Xu Fufu, who insisted that nothing would happen to Chu Mo.
Surprisingly, not too long after, Chu Mo did come out!
His clothes were free from any speck of dust, both his hands were empty, and he wore a calm expression. Just like someone who just finished a meal and returned from a leisurely stroll.
Everyone was shocked by this outcome, almost dumbfounded.
"How is this possible? Wasn't Prince Xia Jing at home?"
"In recent times, Prince Xia Jing has clearly not left home!"
"The main gate was smashed to pieces, was this because someone got slapped until they swelled up? Yet the culprit still leisurely walked out of the battered mansion?"
"I heard someone even died in there... I can't believe he, the grandson of Senior General Fan, could still make it out alive."
"Incredible... Could it be that Young Master Chu carries the emperor's edict?"
"You're right, there might be this possibility, remember that rumor? Perhaps, this time Young Master Chu is here to create chaos on the orders of the emperor!"
"Don't speculate about the royal family's matters, go tell those young brats at home not to provoke this Chu Mo, this kid is not simple!"
The crowd of onlookers, each one of noble status, whispered amongst themselves. Their gazes at Chu Mo were filled with a hint of fear.
It takes courage to create a ruckus in the mansion of a prince and then escape unscathed. In all of Great Xia, there was probably only one person who dared to do so before - the emperor. Now... another one emerged.
Then, the people in the palace began tidying up the ruins silently, without spared a glance outside. This added more mystery to the event. Years later, the incident of Chu Mo causing a scene at the prince's mansion would still remain a popular tale in Yanhuang City.
You...you're okay?" Miao Yi Niang hurried over to Chu Mo, her face filled with concern. Although her face was covered with a veil, hiding her exquisite beauty, the glimpse of her smooth, long legs and her trim waist from within her skirt still heated the hearts of many men.
Most of those present had dined at the Gluttonous Pavilion. Even though they didn't see the proprietress often, many recognized Miao Yi Niang, and were surprised to see her there.
"Why is even Miao Yi Niang here for the spectacle?"
"You guys still don't know? Just now at the Gluttonous Pavilion, the son of the governor of Qingzhou, Zhang Qingyu, caused a scene and was taught a lesson by Young Master Chu. Then, the governor's son outed Xia Jie, otherwise Young Master Chu wouldn't have stormed the prince's mansion in rage."
"So that's what happened, but what does this have to do with Miao Yi Niang?"
"That, I don't know."
Miao Yi Niang ignored the people's whispers and continued to look at Chu Mo worriedly.
Chu Mo smiled, "I'm okay. Why did you come? Didn't Er Fu tell you I was alright?"
"I...I didn't know that you, Lord Chu, had such amazing abilities that would allow you to cause such a commotion in the prince's mansion and leave so freely." Miao Yi Niang couldn't help but grumble.
Xu Fufu chuckled from the side, "Sis, you must keep your word, pay your debts of gambling!"

I got my check-up results, felt depressed all afternoon, and barely managed to churn out a chapter.
My fatty liver is probably advancing towards a severe stage, with two of my transaminase levels being triple the average normal value. My fasting blood sugar level is also higher than the normal value. Not to mention my triglyceride level is over five times the average value.
After reading these test results, I felt completely devastated.
But rest assured, I'm one of those people who doesn't believe they are ill even after seeing a report that says otherwise. I will quickly adjust my mentality.
I will continue to update regularly no matter what. I'm not saying this to seek sympathy. I don't need to use my health condition to attract attention. This is because I am an author, and continuing to write...is my responsibility.
Starting from tomorrow, I need to start adjusting my diet and exercising.
Mm, yes that's it. Maybe in two months when you see me, you might find me looking more handsome.
Ha-ha-ha-ha...
In conclusion, I've finished my update for today. This massive chapter is because I wanted to let you guys read more before I post officially. I know chapters of over two thousand words look a lot more impressive at least!
But I won't split them into smaller chapters before posting officially. I want to make it more exciting for you guys with larger chapters.
As for after the official launch, since the charges are the same regardless of word count, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
So, facing such a well-meaning chapter now, don't you feel guilty not voting?
Come on, hand over the recommendation tickets!!
