Help, I'm A Cringy Sonic OC!

Chapter 9: Dark Fleetings of Super

Striker and Gamma skidded to a halt at the sight of Knuckles and Eggman's prone forms, their hearts racing with a mix of dread and urgency. The chaos that surrounded the altar was palpable, a stark contrast to the serene island they had left behind.

Without a second's pause, Striker dashed over to the two fallen figures, checking for any signs of life. Knuckles stirred, his eyes fluttering open to meet Striker's concerned gaze. "Sonic," he croaked, his voice barely above a whisper. "Find him. The emeralds . . ."

Sonic's arrival was heralded by the roar of his quills cutting through the air. He landed beside Striker, his eyes taking in the destruction. "What happened here?" he demanded, his voice taut with tension.

Gamma stepped forward, his gaze flickering to the unconscious Eggman. "Chaos," he said, his voice grim. "It has grown stronger, and we believe it seeks the seventh emerald to achieve perfection."

Sonic's eyes widened in horror. "The final emerald," he murmured, his mind racing. "If we don't find it first . . ."

Striker looked at the emerald in his pocket, feeling its warmth intensify. He knew what they had to do. "We need to get these emeralds to Sonic," he said, urgency in his voice. "We can use them to go Super and stop Chaos."

Gamma nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. Together, they gathered the six drained emeralds, their power faint but present. Knuckles, with a grimace of pain, managed to push himself onto one elbow and handed Sonic the final, untouched emerald.

The moment the seven emeralds were reunited, the air around them crackled with energy. Sonic's eyes lit up with a fierce determination, and Striker felt a strange tingle run through his body. The emeralds hovered in the air, their light swirling together to form a dazzling cyclone. The friends stepped closer, their hearts racing with anticipation.

With a shout that echoed through the jungle, they both transformed. Sonic's body blazed with a familiar aura, his form taking on the mighty visage of Super Sonic, the hero the world knew and loved. But Striker's transformation was anything but typical.

The seven emeralds light wrapped around him, changing him into something . . . other. The aura that enveloped him was a darker hue of gold, almost bronze, and his eyes went entirely black, the pupils and irises swallowed by shadow. His quills and fur grew darker, a stark black that seemed to absorb the light around him. His skin shifted to an even deeper shade of gray, the cold steel of his new form reflecting the emeralds' power in a chilling display.

Fangs grew from his teeth, sharp and deadly, and his body stretched and bulged with newfound power. This was no longer the chill hybrid Striker knew; this was something else entirely. His eyes, once a warm ruby, had been swallowed by the darkness, leaving only a ring of piercing crimson around the irises. The dark gold aura that now surrounded him was a stark contrast to the warm, comforting light of Super Sonic.

The two of them stood side by side, a stark contrast in color and form. Super Sonic, a beacon of hope, his aura a fiery gold, and Dark Super Striker, a harbinger of a power unseen, shrouded in a dark gold aura that seemed to suck the very light from the air. His eyes, once a warm, comforting red, had become pools of black with crimson rings around them, like the fiery embers of a dying sun. His new form was terrifying, yet awe-inspiring.

The air grew colder around them, the very essence of the jungle seeming to retreat from the primal fury that Dark Super Striker exuded. His quills, once a vibrant blue, had turned as black as the shadows that danced at the edges of the clearing, and his fur was now a deep, almost metallic gray. The fangs that protruded from his snarling mouth were sharp and gleaming, a testament to the power that now coursed through him.

The transformation was complete, and with it came a rush of emotions that Striker had never experienced before. The rage of his Coldsteel DNA melded with the chaotic power of the emeralds, creating a creature of unbridled fury and destruction. He could feel the power of the dark side of the emeralds, a force that threatened to consume him.

As Chaos 6 loomed closer, its monstrous form a twisted mix of water and malice, Striker's newfound rage took over. His body moved on instinct, his thoughts consumed by the desire to rip to shreds the beast that approached. The power within him was a maelstrom, a storm of darkness that pulsed in time with his rapid heartbeat.

With a roar that shook the very ground, Dark Super Striker lunged at Chaos 6, his new form a blur of shadow and rage. His fists struck with the force of thunder, each blow sending shockwaves through the creature's liquid body. The emeralds in his grasp pulsed with a sinister energy that seemed to resonate with Chaos 6, fueling his every movement.

Sonic watched, his heart pounding in his chest. He had seen the darker side of the Chaos Emeralds before, but never like this. His eyes never left Striker's form, searching for any sign of the friend he come to know these past two days beneath the terrifying exterior.

With each clash, Dark Super Striker's rage grew stronger, the emeralds in his grasp pulsing in a morbid rhythm with every blow. The ground beneath them cracked and crumbled under the sheer power of their battle. Chaos 6, seemingly unfazed by the onslaught, countered with waves of water and razor-sharp crystals, its form shifting and morphing into a horrifying spectacle of destruction.

Sonic, torn between awe and concern, watched his friend's transformation with a heavy heart. He knew the emeralds could be dangerous, but this was something else entirely. He had to act fast—before Striker lost control completely. With a deep breath, he steeled himself and charged at Chaos 6, his own emerald aura blazing with a fierce light.

Their combined might was like nothing the creature had faced before. Super Sonic's speed and precision sliced through the chaos, while Dark Super Striker's brute strength tore through its watery defenses. Yet, even as they pushed back the monstrosity, Sonic couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. The power of the emeralds was unpredictable, and he feared the cost of such a transformation.

As the battle raged on, Striker felt the dark power of the emeralds threatening to consume him. His mind was a tumult of anger and chaos, the desire to destroy burning like a wildfire in his soul. Yet, amidst the madness, a flicker of clarity remained—his friends, the world that needed saving, the promise he had made to himself and others.

With a tremendous effort of will, Striker reined in his fury, forcing himself to remember the mission—to claim Chaos down and restore peace to the shattered world below. His eyes, once lost in the abyss of the transformation, grew clearer, the crimson ring around his pupils dimming to a gentle glow.

With a final roar that seemed to shake the very fabric of existence, Dark Super Striker and Super Sonic delivered a combined blow that sent Chaos 6 reeling. The creature, caught off guard by the sudden change in Striker's demeanor, stumbled backward, its form wavering.

The emeralds in Striker's grew still, their pulsing power subsiding to a gentle hum. Chaos 6, sensing the shift, ceased its relentless assault and hovered before them, its eyes narrowing. The air grew thick with anticipation, the very essence of the jungle holding its breath.

In a moment of stillness, Tikal's spirit appeared before them, floating gracefully above the fray. Her eyes, filled with understanding and compassion, met Striker's, and she offered a gentle smile. The dark power of the emeralds receded from him, leaving only the warm glow of the emerald light. His fangs retracted, his quills and fur returning to their usual vibrant shades. The transformation was undone, leaving only the exhausted form of Striker, panting and trembling.

Sonic watched in amazement as Chaos 6's form grew smaller, its power waning. The creature's eyes, once filled with malice, softened to a gentle glow, reflecting the emeralds' pure energy. With a final effort, Striker reached out to Chaos, his hand touching its core. The emeralds pulsed once more, and a brilliant light enveloped the two.

The world around them grew quiet, the jungle holding its breath. The light grew brighter and brighter until it was all that could be seen. When it faded, Chaos stood before them in his normal form—a small, docile Chao, its eyes filled with curiosity and innocence. Tails and Knuckles, who had regained consciousness, stared in awe at the transformation.

Tikal spoke, her voice like a soft melody in the wind. "The Chao have lived in harmony with our people for generations," she said, her eyes on the little creature. "Their kindness and purity are the very essence of the emeralds. Chaos has returned to its true form, free from the corruption that threatened us all."

With a nod of gratitude to Striker and Sonic, she picked up the Chao, cradling it in her arms. The creature looked up at her, its eyes filled with trust. "We must go," she said softly. "Our time in this realm is over."

The friends watched as Tikal and Chaos ascended into the sky, their forms becoming one with the light of the emeralds. They vanished into the heavens, leaving behind a trail of sparkling green energy that slowly dissipated into the night.

Sonic turned to Striker, his eyes filled with relief and admiration. "You did it, sorta you alright though" he said, clapping a hand on the hybrid's shoulder.

Striker looked down at his hand, the emeralds now gone. He shook his head slowly, his mind racing with the implications of his newfound power. The darkness had almost consumed him, but he had fought it back. For now. He took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of Sonic's hand on his shoulder, grounding him in the present.

The Chao looked up at them with innocent eyes, its small form a stark contrast to the monstrosity it had once been. Knuckles pushed himself to his feet, his eyes never leaving the creature.

"What did I become . . ."
