Hero or Villain, Both

Chapter 124: Vampires (1)

Two weeks had passed since I had started training these new slaves that I obtained.

During this time, they had certainly undergone some grueling training.

Though even if they wanted to die, it wasn't as if I would let them die.

Until they played their part, I wouldn't let them off that easily.

So before they made their way to the underworld, they would have to give me everything that they had first.

That was why by the end of it, I could see the fear in their eyes when they looked at me. This was a look that was completely different from the looks that they gave me when we started this.

After all, there were some that hadn't been convinced by what happened and thought that they would be able to figure out a way to change all of this. They wanted to see if they could find a way to break free of becoming a slave.

But all those thoughts disappeared once I put the fear of me in them.

Though it wasn't as if all of them were afraid of me.

I could see that there were a few that had adapted to the training and viewed me completely differently from the others.

It wasn't as if they weren't afraid of me, but there was a trace of loyalty and respect in their eyes. These were the ones that I had been able to convince with my strength, so they would follow me in the future.

Well, that was until someone stronger came along.

"Would there even be anyone stronger than me in this world at the rate that I'm growing? We're already destined to become some of the strongest people in the world and we're even sharing stats. It really seems kind of unfair towards the rest of the world."

This wasn't something that I could tell others, but it was the truth.

For now, I still wasn't the strongest since even with our shared stats, there were people that were stronger than us.

For now, I still had to build up my strength.

That meant that I had to take down the stronger demon tribes.

At the same time, it was time to show the results of their training.

"Is everyone in place?" I asked Ashe this question.

She was the younger sister of the demon with the scythe, the one that had sworn her loyalty to me.

Not only was she loyal, she was also someone that learned fast. She was one of the few that had been able to make it all the way to the end of the training.

With this kind of aptitude, it wouldn't make sense not to take her under my wings.

Which was why she had become one of the captains under me.

"I've made sure that they're all where they should be. It's just that…" There was an awkward look that appeared on her face when she said this.

"Is it Vargas?" I asked without even batting an eyelash.

The look on her face became even more awkward before she gave a slow nod.

Vargas was that scythe wielding brother of hers.

"What did he do?"

Ashe slowly shook her head before saying, "I don't know…He just took off on his own and said that he would take care of things. I've tried reaching him, but no one has been able to find him."

I couldn't help revealing a faint smile when I heard this.

Though I wasn't actually worried when I heard this.

That was because there was something special about that kid Vargas.

It was a special ability that only he possessed, something that no one else could mimic.

In short, he had very good instincts and he was someone that was prone to following those instincts.

This was something that he had demonstrated during the training and I had taken note of it, but I hadn't planned on letting him do anything with it.

Still, since he was acting on his own…

"Just let him go for now. I want to see what kind of surprise he'll bring me." I said with the same smile on my face.

Ashe gave another sigh before suddenly revealing a serious look.

From her expression, I could tell that she was planning on teaching Vargas a lesson later.

It was what he deserved and it wasn't as if I would get in the way of these two siblings.

Once she calmed down, Ashe said, "Everything is ready and we're just waiting for your order."

With a nod, I said, "Then send them in."

Ashe gave a nod before walking away.

I just stared at the castle in the distance with a smile on my face.

"I'm curious to see what kind of results this training will bring."

"Is this the batch of new blood slaves?"

"That's right. What? You don't like them?"

"They seem like they aren't that strong. Where did you even get them?"

"Where could I have gotten them? If they were strong, wouldn't the other tribes have gotten them? Besides, what did you expect, it isn't as if we get the same level of blood slaves as the purebloods."

"Well, you're right about that. It's just that I really was hoping for a few better ones. It's been a while since I've had good blood."

"With our position, how could we ask for more? Just do your job and bring them in."

The two who had been arguing suddenly turned to the group that they had been leading and raised the whips in their hands to move them.

When they were whipped, this group had no choice but to move in the direction that they were being driven.

Though in the eyes of some of these blood slaves, there was a glow that the other slaves didn't have.

It showed that they hadn't given up yet.

It showed that they hadn't accepted their position yet.

Though some of them weren't actually slaves to begin with.

Or at least they weren't slaves to these vampires that were driving them.
