Iris Long itched to conduct a routine check-up on her cat AI children's systems, but everything was still too hectic right now. Grandma Li's funeral was already finished, but they couldn't rest easy yet.

He was still feeling depressed after the death of his grandmother but didn't want to wallow in grief. He decided that throwing himself into work was the best way to deal with grief. And of course, spending time with his equally busy wife.

As for Chen Fei, she disliked Jin Chonglin referring to her as "wife" when they hadn't married yet. She instantly felt a lot lighter after returning to work at Orchidia main headquarters. This was her element—work.

After doing his duty, Grandpa Lu finally didn't insist on staying anymore. He left with Lu Zihao, Long Jinjing, and the Lu twins.

Back to the present, a week had already passed since Grandma Li's funeral. Huang Yuyan stood in the front hall wiping her tears. She watched as her son, daughter-in-law, grandsons, and grandpets prepared to leave.

"Xiulan my dear, why don't you stay for another week? Or maybe another month?"

Iris glanced at her husband. Jin Liwei gave her a "let me handle this" look before doing just that.

"Mom, Xiulan and I are behind our work obligations," he said. "We can't work as comfortably here as in our own home."

Huang Yuyan pouted like a little girl. She glanced at Iris, a begging look in her eyes.

Iris felt guilty in an instant, even though she had no reason why she should feel guilty in the first place.

"How about you stay with us at Dragon Palace instead, Mom?" she suggested.

Huang Yuyan hesitated as she thought about it before her eyes lit up. "Can I?"

"Of course, Mom. You're always welcome in our home." Iris looked at her husband, silently asking him to give her support.

He understood right away. "Yes, Mom. Xiulan, the kids, and I will be delighted if you stay with us. The mansion is big enough for all of us."

"Oh, how lovely! Wait, I need to start packing now."

Huang Yuyan smiled as if the world had turned technicolour for the first time. She called for her housekeeper to help her start packing immediately.

"Mom, Xiulan and I will go home first," Jin Liwei told his mother. "After you finish packing, you can follow us anytime. Do you need me to send someone to pick you up?"

Huang Yuyan waved a hand. "No, son. I'll have my driver send me to your place later."

She was already too excited to start packing.

Iris sighed in relief. She was also glad that her mother-in-law was already back to her usual cheerful self. Huang Yuyan had been crying for days, but now she was starting to smile again. Iris glanced at her twin sons and gently pinched their cheeks.

The cats and dogs were also greeted like royalty.
