Hogwarts : Max Level Unforgivable Curse

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Jinx!

"The lion has to be golden, Hermione!"

As Seamus finished speaking, Dylan couldn't help but glance at the other side of the banner.

It turned out there was a lion painted there that didn't look much like a lion at all.

"That's my drawing!" an excited voice chimed in.

Dylan looked over and saw it was Dean, Seamus's friend.

Neville scratched his head. "I just happened to have a bedsheet I didn't need anymore."

"You provided the bedsheet?" Dylan turned to look at the chubby boy.

After Neville nodded, Dylan tapped his head with his wand.

"In that case, shouldn't I do something too?"

Neville blinked, but before he could say anything, Dylan had already waved his wand.

"Vera Verto (Transfiguration Spell)!"

A shower of pink stardust particles sparkled into the air, looking even more dazzling and dreamlike under the sunlight.

The magic gradually seeped into the bedsheet.

Suddenly, the entire sheet shuddered.

In the next moment, the words on it were awakened by the magic, gaining physical form. They stood up, transforming into small, adorable cartoon characters that hopped around on the sheet, changing colors as they moved.

"Potter rules!"

"Potter rules!"

These cartoon characters, dressed in bright outfits and wearing lively expressions, chanted in unison.

At the same time, the poorly drawn lion on the sheet began to shift, its outline growing more solid and vivid.

Finally, it leaped off the sheet, transforming into a majestic cartoon lion.

Its body was robust, radiating a golden glow, with a mane that billowed like flames.

The cartoon lion began to run around the cheering text characters, letting out a deafening roar.

Seeing this, Ron, Neville, and the others widened their eyes, their jaws dropping.

"Merlin's beard, that's so cool!!"

Hermione, on the other hand, was surprised by Dylan's mastery of the Transfiguration Spell.

The way he brought the text to life and even animated it left her momentarily speechless.

Not just them, but many of the young wizards around also turned their heads in amazement.

At that moment, Madam Hooch, the referee, arrived at the center of the Quidditch pitch.

The players from both teams had already taken their positions.

"I expect a fair game, which means you must play honestly and not attempt any underhanded tricks!"

"Beeeeep—!"

The sharp whistle echoed across the Quidditch pitch.

A dozen broomsticks quickly lifted off the ground.

Admittedly, Dylan wasn't particularly interested in this kind of game.

But being there in person, feeling the electrifying energy of the crowd, he couldn't help but get caught up in the excitement, something he hadn't felt in a long time.

Suddenly, a deep voice sounded beside him.

"Mind if I squeeze through?"

Dylan turned and saw a massive figure. He looked up and realized it was Hagrid.

Dylan's seat was already quite spacious, but after Hagrid arrived, the young wizards around made even more room.

Hagrid's bulk took up enough space for four people.

He smiled, his eyes fixed on the pitch, but his head tilted toward Dylan.

"That's some impressive magic. Seems like you've got a real knack for spells."

Dylan smiled politely. "Just a little trick, but yeah, I guess I do have some talent."

Hagrid: (υυ)…

He clicked his tongue, stroked his beard, and grinned before turning to Ron to change the subject.

"The Snitch hasn't shown up yet, has it? I got here just as the game started."

"Not yet."

Ron, who was also quite interested in Quidditch, kept his eyes on the game and shook his head at Hagrid.

Dylan also turned his attention to the match.

Since he hadn't bothered to learn the rules of Quidditch in detail, he only knew that catching the Golden Snitch was crucial to winning the game.

With the Snitch not yet in play, the players could only focus on the Quaffle.

However, watching the players on the field, Dylan couldn't help but twitch his lips as he saw them not only fighting for the Quaffle but also deliberately throwing it at their opponents.

It seemed that no matter the sport, physical attacks were always part of the game.

Just then, gasps erupted from the stands.

Dylan immediately noticed a flash of gold streaking through the air.

Harry and the Slytherin Seeker both shot forward.

Just as Harry was about to catch the Snitch, a Slytherin player suddenly slammed into him, sending him flying far off course and nearly knocking him off his broom.

Dylan's eyes widened.

"Hey, that's so dirty!" Ron shouted.

"They've fouled! Even Professor McGonagall looks furious," Hagrid said, glancing toward the opposite stands.

Madam Hooch flew into the air, scolding the Slytherin player sternly.

As a result, Gryffindor was awarded a penalty shot.

But clearly, the chance to end the game by catching the Snitch had been lost.

"That kind of foul should've gotten him a red card!" Dean exclaimed, his eyes wide.

"This isn't football; there's no red card here," Seamus replied, shaking his head.

The Gryffindor supporters were furious, Hermione included.

Dylan, however, scanned the surroundings.

He vaguely remembered someone targeting Harry during a Quidditch match.

"Wasn't it Quirrell?"

As he pondered, Dylan suddenly sensed a faint, carefully concealed burst of magic.

Ever since he had refined the visual effects of his wand's spells, he had become more sensitive to the subtle nuances of magical energy.

"A Jinx?"

Dylan immediately recognized the nature of the spell.

It was a low-level curse with malicious intent. While not as deadly as some dark magic, it could still cause minor misfortunes or accidents.

If Harry were hit by it while flying at high speed, he could easily fall off his broom and crash into a wall or railing, ending up in pieces.

"Quirrell's making his move. He's probably testing whether Dumbledore's still at the school."

The Jinx quickly took effect on Harry.

The boy, who had been flying steadily, suddenly hunched over and began to tremble and roll in the air.

His broom seemed to malfunction, sending him careening wildly before shooting straight up into the sky.
