Chapter 612: Chapter 612: The Choice of Sacrifice
When Andy retracted his wand, the raging fire gradually subsided.
"Mmm!"
Andy nodded in satisfaction, "It's done!"
With that, Andy turned to Dumbledore and raised an eyebrow, hinting: it is time for you two to go over.
Although the things under the pool had been completely incinerated by the fiendfyre, the boat could still not accommodate both Andy and Dumbledore, and Andy had no intention of swimming over.
Therefore, the only ones who could go over were Harry and Dumbledore.
Dumbledore winked at Andy, then patted Harry on the shoulder and said, "Harry, we should go now."
"Oh, okay!" Harry responded slightly helplessly.
Before they came over, Harry was actually very excited.
After all, it was an adventure with Andy and Dumbledore. Just thinking about the thrills he would encounter during the journey alone made Harry's adventurous heart throb.
However, there was still a difference between the adventure in his imagination and the real thing.
Led by the two full-level players, Harry, who had not yet left the novice village (Hogwarts), did not even get to taste a bit of adventure.
He had not done anything yet, but the map had already been cleared.
How was he going to brag to Ron when he got back?
With a face full of dejection, Harry followed Dumbledore onto the boat and drifted towards the centre of the 'puddle'.
Andy crouched down, stuck his hand in the big puddle, and stirred it, then prodded the water with his wand.
He found nothing.
Voldemort still knew his stuff. The magical mechanism he had set up here was not only ingenious but also highly advanced. At least Andy could not set up a mechanism like this.
'It's not just a spell; there must be some alchemy involved...' Andy guessed.
Considering that Voldemort had worked in the Borgin and Burkes shop, it was not that surprising that he had such alchemical skills.
That shop was quite infamous. It was the largest shop in Knockturn Alley, exclusively dealing dark magic items.
Even with the Ministry of Magic heavily regulating dark magic items, Borgin and Burkes had been in business for decades.
Even after the Ministry's large-scale search for dark magic items two years ago, the shop had not been affected in the slightest and was still operating openly and honestly.
Some people even went there to sell illegal dark magic items back then.
Andy suddenly became a little interested in this shop.
Voldemort, who had just graduated, was a smart person, but he still chose to work part-time at the Borgin and Burkes shop. He figured that the owner, Mr. Borgin, must be pretty capable.
'Intriguing...' Andy ran his hand along his chin.
"Andy..."
Just as Andy was deep in thought, Harry suddenly shouted, "We have to drink the potion here."
Andy: "..."
What are you talking about?
"What's going on?" Andy asked loudly.
Harry hurriedly explained, "There's a basin here filled with potion. Professor Dumbledore said the Horcrux is hidden in the potion, but we have to finish the potion to get the Horcrux."
"Ah! Then get back here first; let's go catch a Death Eater," Andy shouted.
Dumbledore: "…"
It's a good idea, but it's a bit unethical.
Immediately after Andy's words, there was an instant silence on the other side.
Needless to say, Harry and Dumbledore obviously did not agree with Andy's solution.
In their minds, while Death Eaters deserved to die, they must be tried in a legal trial or killed in battle, not arbitrarily put to death.
This was something they could not accept!
Andy didn't care when he saw this. If you don't agree, then figure it out yourself.
"Andy, this isn't very nice, don't you think? Maybe... we could catch an animal or something." Harry's voice sounded again after a while.
"Suit yourself!"
Andy said, "But I think animals are much more innocent than Death Eaters."
There was silence on the other side for a while, and then Harry yelled again, "Andy, I'm afraid you'll have to find a way to send us an animal."
"Professor Dumbledore said that the boat cannot come back if it sails back."
I see!
Andy instantly understood.
First, there was the bloodletting, then the magic consumption, and finally the potion made from unknown ingredients, not to mention the hidden dangers beneath the pool.
Voldemort was quite insidious when you thought about it.
The boat can only go there and back once, and if the intruder does not choose to sacrifice himself, then perhaps he/she will never be able to obtain Voldemort's Horcrux.
But once the person drinks the potion, then he/she will probably not be far from death.
"Okay! You guys wait for me for a moment!"
After saying this, Andy turned around and walked out of the cave.
First, he went to the Forbidden Forest and caught an Acromantula—this thing is ugly, and if they sacrifice this one, then perhaps it can alleviate some of the psychological burden on Harry and Dumbledore.
After all, beauty is justice.
If he caught a cat or a dog, they would probably be torn between conflicting emotions for a long time.
After putting the Acromantula into a pocket enchanted with the undetectable extension charm, Andy went to 12 Grimmauld Place again and borrowed the house elf from Sirius.
Andy used the Apparition spell the whole way, so it took less than five minutes.
After leaving 12 Grimmauld Place, Andy used the Imperius Curse to control Kreacher and then used the Apparition spell to take himself to the seaside cave with Kreacher.
Snap!
Andy and Kreacher appeared out of thin air by the edge of the pool.
Snap!
With another Apparition spell, Andy and Kreacher appeared on the platform in the centre of the pool.
"Andy, you're back!" Harry exclaimed in surprise.
So efficient!
Looking at the creature at Andy's side, Harry's expression froze, and he stammered, "Kreacher? Andy, you're not planning to use Kreacher..."
"No!"
Andy shrugged, took the Acromantula out of the space pocket, and said casually, "I went to the Forbidden Forest."
"Ahhh!"
Harry was startled to see the Acromantula appear abruptly, but his expression improved considerably; at least he wasn't so torn up anymore.
Dumbledore watched the whole thing with a calm expression.
With his wisdom, he, of course, understood Andy's line of thinking, and he also knew exactly what Harry was thinking.
In a situation where life must be sacrificed, Harry's choice was actually very human—choosing the object of sacrifice based on closeness and personal preference.
Andy's choice was actually the same.
As long as it wasn't himself or someone close to him, the rest... it didn't matter who was sacrificed.
However, Andy obviously took Harry's acceptance into consideration and brought an Acromantula that would be easily 'accepted'.
Dumbledore didn't say anything.
In fact, ever since he and Harry arrived at the platform in the centre of the pool, he hadn't said much.
Andy even wondered if the old man had already been here. Perhaps he had brought Harry and himself here together just for this moment.
