Chapter 626: Chapter 626: Veela: A Creature Worthy of Study

"Of course, it would be best if Dumbledore showed up, but that's just idle talk," Mr. Weasley added.

To be fair, Mr. Weasley didn't want to give the task of confronting Voldemort to Andy either.

Although Andy is very powerful, in Mr. Weasley's eyes, Andy is just a child.

But there was nothing he could do about it!

Among the group, Andy is the most powerful and has also had experience fighting Voldemort.

To avoid heavy casualties, it was undoubtedly the best choice to let Andy face Voldemort.

"Me, Remus, and Sirius will assist from the side."

Mr. Weasley continued, "As for the other Death Eaters, leave them to the Aurors and the Hit Wizards."

"No problem!" Sirius agreed at once.

Even if he were about to face Voldemort, he showed no sign of fear.

"What about me?" Harry asked hurriedly.

"You..."

Mr Weasley wanted to say, 'You should just protect yourself,' but when he thought about Harry's character, the words stuck in his throat.

"Once the battle breaks out, the crowd may panic, so you guys should help maintain order."

Mr. Weasley said, "At least don't let the panic affect us."

Harry was a little unwilling when he heard this. He also wanted to engage in head-on combat with the Death Eaters. But after hesitating for a while, Harry still nodded and said, "I know."

After the tasks were assigned, the group lost their desire to play around. After a simple dinner, everyone went back to their rooms to rest.

The next day, the Quidditch World Cup final officially began.

After breakfast, the group entered the stadium under Sirius's lead.

Since Sirius was very rich, he had bought the best seats in the stadium. As soon as they were seated, Sirius handed out a large pile of snacks to everyone.

"Don't be shy."

Sirius said with a smile, "There might be a battle later, but for now, we just need to enjoy the game."

"Don't let what's about to happen ruin your mood."

Isabel didn't stand on the ceremony and took Sirius's snack gift. She looked up at Andy with an innocent look on her face and asked, "Andy, you aren't hungry, right?"

Andy: "…"

Andy looked at the snacks in Isabel's hand and said, "You shouldn't eat too much sweets; it's bad for your teeth."

With that, Andy confiscated all the sweet snacks.

You want to pull my wool?

If I don't teach you a lesson, you won't know who's boss!

The little missy instantly felt like crying but had no tears.

"Andy, look over there!" Hermione tugged on Andy's sleeve and pointed to a bleacher across the field.

"Huh?" Andy looked in the direction Hermione was pointing.

Oh, it's Dumbledore!

He really came?

Dumbledore seemed to have noticed the group as well and waved at Andy.

Mr. Weasley and the others also saw Dumbledore. While they were relieved, they couldn't help but feel a little discontent.

The old man finally showed up!

"I'll go and ask what's going on."

Mr. Weasley said, getting up. "Remus, take care of things here."

"Don't worry!" Lupin gave a slight nod.

***

The Quidditch World Cup still includes a sense of ceremony.

First, there was an official speech...

Well, no one wants to hear that!

Andy saw someone throw a shoe in the direction of the speaker's platform and shouted at the person to shut up.

So, this part was quickly skipped.

Then there was the performance by the mascots of the two teams, Veela and the Irish Leprechauns—just from the name, you can tell which performance will be more popular.

The Veela were breathtakingly beautiful, their skin glowing like the moon and their hair floating behind their heads without a breeze.

When the Veela appeared, the audience went wild, and Ron couldn't wait to rush over and have a close and personal 'interaction' with them.

"Are they Veela?"

Andy looked at the show with great curiosity through his binocular—a magic binocular with many functions, including rewind, fast-forward, and slow-motion.

Especially at this moment, it allowed Andy to see very clearly.

"Hiss..."

A sharp pain spread from his waist, causing Andy to gasp.

"Did you like the show?"

Hermione's face was frosty. "You were mesmerised!"

"What?"

Andy was confused. "Hermione, don't you think magical beings like the Veela are fascinating? They are born with special magical abilities, but they cannot use magic like wizards can."

"I remember that the Veela not only have the ability to charm; they can also throw fireballs. When provoked, they can even turn into a terrifying Harpy-like creature."

"Tell me, what is the difference between these magical beings and us wizards?"

Hermione: "..."

Andy's academic discussion made Hermione feel a little embarrassed.

She raised her chin and tried to respond calmly, "You can look for information in the Restricted Book Section."

Andy continued to hold up the binoculars and said while watching the Veela's performance, "I have always suspected that magic transfiguration will change us into a magical being."

"Like Veela or the house-elves, with some special magical abilities."

"It's just that... there's no way to prove it yet."

Hermione was a little worried. "Magic transfiguration is too risky. You don't want to turn into something weird like You-Know-Who, do you?"

"Of course, I know that," Andy casually replied.

Thanks to the effective management of his public persona, Hermione not only did not stop Andy from conducting his 'academic research', but she even felt a little ashamed of her previous distrust.

How could Andy possibly be charmed by the likes of Veela?

He was being kind, not to dissect and slice her to pieces.

Soon, the performance ended.

At this point, everyone came back to their senses.

Harry had one leg already placed on the box's wall, as if he wanted to rush out and throw himself into Veela's arms.

Ron was making diving motions, and if Lupin hadn't held him back, he would have jumped already.

When they came back to their senses, both of them felt a little ashamed.

Ron blushed and muttered something, looking around as if he wanted to find more 'victims'.

Finally, he came up to Andy and whispered, "Andy, they're pretty, aren't they?"

Hermione pricked up her ears.

"What?" Andy was dumbfounded.

"I mean Veela..."

Ron blushed and whispered, "Many people have been charmed by Veela, but you don't seem to be affected... Andy, how did you do it?"

"Well…their magic is indeed a bit special."

Andy said with a righteous expression, "But after studying for a long time, I still haven't been able to find the difference between Veela and wizards."

Ron: "…"

Ron really wanted to say that that wasn't what he was talking about.

Andy let out a sigh and gave Ron a solid pat on the shoulder.

With a smack, Ron's words were directly slapped back.

Brother, if you're not going to cover for me, then at least don't ask such a stupid question in front of Hermione... Do you think I'm having too easy a time?

Ver 2: (just the same, please give me your opinion if you read this Ver.)

Mr Weasley added after a pause, "I still hope that Dumbledore would show up and take care of Voldemort, but that's an ideal wish."

In fact, he really doesn't want Andy to confront Voldemort; no matter how powerful Andy has become, he is still a child he watched grow up.

But considering the strength of everyone present, he knew there would be many casualties otherwise.

And Andy also has experience fighting Voldemort.

Taking a deep breath, Mr Weasley turned to Sirius and continued, "Me, Remus, and Sirius will help from the sidelines."

"And Aurors and Hit Wizards will take care the rest of the Death Eaters."

Sirius agreed without a second thought, "No problem."

Despite knowing how powerful the dark lord is and his previous experience of being captured, Sirius still showed no sign of fear.

Seeing this, Harry interjected, raring to fight, "What about me?"

"You-" Mr Weasley held back the words 'You should protect yourself' knowing Harry's character. "-guys should help the crowd evacuate orderly."

Harry hesitated and thought about it briefly; he still wanted to confront the Death Eaters head-on like them, but considering the current situation, he reluctantly agreed. "Okay."

With the heavy topic still hung in the room, no one wanted to go out and play, so they all went to their own rooms to rest.

***

The next morning, Sirius led the group to the pitch and brought them to one of the few VVIP booths.

After everyone was seated, Sirius distributed snacks to all attentively and said in a joking tone, "Don't be shy and eat them up."

"Don't worry about Voldemort and other stuff, and just enjoy the game."

"Thanks." Isabela didn't try to be polite and piled up every snack offered and then even eyed the snacks in front of Andy greedily.

"Andy, you aren't hungry, right?" Isabela tried to ask casually, but her darting eyes betrayed her.

Andy, who knew his sister well, raised his eyebrow and instantly noticed her intention.

You even want to pull my wool?

"Isa, don't eat too much sweet; it is bad for your teeth." Andy swiftly picked up every sweet snack she liked most and advised in a 'good intention' "I will return them to you back home."

The little missy pouted her lips, her lips puckered.

She felt like she dropped the stone at her own feet.

Hermione smiled at their interactions; it was rare to see Andy care for others and joke around like this.

After a little while, the bleachers and stands were crowded with people.

Suddenly, Hermione called out hurriedly, pointing at someone, which attracted everyone's attention: "Andy, isn't that Professor Dumbledore?"

Everyone looked in the direction she pointed and noticed Dumbledore, who was entering a booth with a few other old wizards.

Coincidentally, Dumbledore also noticed them and waved at them with a smile.

Mr Weasley stood up and said, "I will go see him and ask what's going on."

After he left, everyone looked at each other and turned to pitch to look at the opening ceremony, losing their mood to chat.

The game started with an official speech, which fortunately ended quickly thanks to everyone's discontent and boos.

Some even threw things below; even the commenter Ludo Bagman booed along while using the voice-amplifying alchemical device.

Then the mascots of both teams entered to pitch to show their performance.

First, the Ireland team's Leprechauns finished their show with their unique laughter.

Next, the much-awaited Bulgarian team Vella entered in a gorgeous, tight-fitting black gown.

Their skin glowed in the darkness; their bright, wavy, white-golden hair danced around, captivating everyone's attention.

Andy took his binoculars to look at their dance for 'research' purposes.

The binocular he has is an alchemical item with zooming, slowing, stopping, and forwarding functions. Invented and sold specially to watch the fast-moving Quidditch match.

Their music and dance charmed most men and some women.

Some even tried to rush out and got stopped by their sober companions.

"How is the show?" Hermione twisted Andy's tight and asked in a cold tone, "They are gorgeous, right?"

Andy quickly reacted and responded 'nonchalantly' thanks to his fast 'Thinking' attribute, "I found out magic transfiguration will transform us into a magical being slowly, so I am watching them to see how different they are from us."

"You know, they can use magic like charm and throw fireballs without the need for wands. And can transform into a Harpy-like creature when angry."

Hermione instantly believed his reason, thanks to the 'persona' he maintained.

She felt a little embarrassed and ashamed for suspecting Andy like that, even after knowing his obsession with magic.

It would be nice of him, for not wanting to cut them open and study them.

"You should look into it in the Restricted Book Section." Hermione said, and then asked him with concern, "You know how the Dark Lord looks after magic transfiguration, right? Do you want to turn like him?"

She tried to change his mind, using his slight narcissistic side.

"Don't worry, he turned like that after many rituals. You know, I still like my handsome self," Andy answered with a chuckle and then held up his binoculars again for 'research'.

This time, Hermione didn't stop him but turned to look at the ruckus around her.

She looked at Harry, who was trying to dive into Vella's embrace, and stopped by Sirius.

And then Ron, who was ready to jump with one leg on the railing, got pulled back by Lupin.

Watching all the commotion around her, Hermione felt 'her' Andy was still a lot better.

When the show ended, everyone who was charmed came back to their senses.

Harry and Ron looked at each other, feeling ashamed.

Ron looked around to justify his action.

When he saw Andy, his eyes lit up.

He approached Andy's side and asked him, "Vellas are just too beautiful to resist, right?"

"How did you resist their charm?"

Hermione's ear twitched at the question.

Andy cursed Ron inwardly for 'bringing this dead thing back to life' and answered, "No matter how I looked, they are no different from us, other than their charm magic."

"You can resist their charm just by keeping your thoughts clear."

"But that's not what I am-" Ron's words were choked back by the firm 'pat' of Andy on his back.

Andy smiled after 'patting' him, cursing inwardly.

Brother, if you are not going to cover for me, at least don't ask such a stupid question in front of Hermione. Don't you know how to read the room... Do you think I am too happy and trying to add some spice (drama) to my life?
