Deidara's Mockery
Deidara's laughter echoed across the desert. "Hahaha! Uchiha Itachi, you act so cold and stoic, yet you have such a ridiculous brother. It's hilarious!"
He held up a photograph, grinning mischievously. "If your brother is this arrogant, what secrets are you hiding, Itachi?"
Itachi's eyes narrowed slightly, his irritation silencing Deidara's amusement.
Noticing the tension, Sasori's puppet clanked forward as he intervened. "Deidara, enough! What's gotten into you today?"
Deidara often provoked Itachi, but today's comments seemed particularly brazen.
Kisame, ever the observer, glanced at the dense forest ahead. "Are we sure this is still Sunagakure? It doesn't look like a desert anymore."
Itachi's voice was calm but firm. "The latest intel confirms it. Both the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki and the One-Tail Jinchūriki are here."
Sasori raised an eyebrow. "So the rumors about the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki mastering Wood Style are true after all."
Kisame grinned, his sharp teeth flashing in the moonlight. "If the brat can manipulate Wood Style to this extent, his chakra must be immense. A terrifying thought."
Sasori glanced at Kisame. "How does your chakra compare to his?"
Kisame chuckled. "I don't have that much chakra. My strength lies in… a little secret."
Itachi's gaze lingered on the forest ahead. The lush greenery was unnatural in the desert, heightening his unease.

Itachi's Growing Doubts
Itachi had been tasked with capturing a tailed beast, believing Naruto's departure from Konoha was a covert mission.
But now, seeing the thriving Wood Style in Sunagakure, Itachi began to accept the unsettling truth: Naruto had defected.
---
The Arrival of Konoha's Anbu
Meanwhile, Konoha's Anbu had arrived in Sunagakure with a clear mission: bring Uzumaki Naruto back. However, upon arrival, they were met with shocking claims—Naruto was now a rogue ninja.
The Anbu refused to believe it.
If this had been years ago, the idea might have seemed plausible. Naruto had been ostracized for much of his life.
But now? The village revered him as the son of the Fourth Hokage. Why would he choose to leave?
Unconvinced, the Anbu demanded to meet Naruto in person.
---
At the Hot Springs
Temari, tasked with finding Naruto, tracked him to the hot springs. Steam enveloped the area, obscuring her vision. "Naruto?" she called hesitantly.
Naruto, eyes closed, enjoying the warmth, responded with mild surprise. "Temari? What's wrong?"
Through the mist, Temari approached cautiously, her heart skipping as she glimpsed his figure. The dim light reflected off his damp skin, his piercing blue eyes cutting through the haze.
For a moment, she felt her composure waver. "Your Shadow Clone wasn't convincing enough. You need to come with me."
Naruto sighed, standing up. "Alright, give me a moment."
Embarrassed, Temari quickly turned away, her voice flustered. "I'll wait outside."
---
Confrontation in the Kazekage's Office
Naruto and Temari arrived at the Kazekage's office, where two Konoha Anbu waited.
The Shadow Clone dispelled itself as Naruto approached, transferring its memories. Naruto's gaze shifted to the two shinobi.
One of them was unfamiliar, but the other was Uzuki Yugao, someone Naruto recognized.
Yugao stepped forward, concern etched on her face. "Naruto, have you really left Konoha?"
Naruto chuckled softly, sensing her sincerity. "Yes. My decision is final."
Yugao's expression faltered, sadness replacing her shock. She couldn't help but think of the Fourth Hokage and the tragedy of his son severing ties with the village.
She opened her mouth to speak, but Naruto cut her off. "Don't try to convince me. Just relay my decision to Sarutobi Hiruzen."
The second Anbu, less sentimental, unsheathed his sword. "Uzumaki Naruto, you are the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki. You know how important you are to the village. If you don't return willingly—"
Before he could finish, Naruto raised his hand, forming a seal. Wood erupted from the ground, binding the Anbu and immobilizing him.
The sudden attack startled Rasa, who quickly intervened. "Naruto, I think it's best if you return to Konoha for now."
Rasa's tone was diplomatic. Though he could protect Naruto, he didn't want to seem too biased in front of Konoha's representatives.
Naruto ignored Rasa's suggestion, his focus on the restrained Anbu. "And if I don't return? What will you do?"
The Anbu struggled against the Wood Style, his chakra draining with every passing second. Despite the pain, he sneered. "You're the son of the Fourth Hokage and a Jinchūriki of Konoha. Betraying the village disgraces your father's legacy."
Naruto's expression darkened as the branches tightened, causing the Anbu to cough violently.
Even then, the Anbu persisted. "You stole the First Hokage's ninjutsu and abandoned the village. You're nothing but a traitor! If you don't return, think about the people you care about. How do you think they'll be treated?"
Naruto sighed deeply, turning to Yugao. "Why is he so reckless?"
Yugao, clearly uneasy, stepped forward. "Naruto, please… can you at least explain why you're doing this?"
Her voice carried no judgment, only genuine curiosity.
Naruto hesitated before replying. "Because I don't like being controlled. Konoha never felt like home to me."
Yugao nodded solemnly, her heart heavy. "I understand. I'll deliver your message to the Hokage."
Rasa, observing quietly, made a mental note of Naruto's words.
Yugao glanced at her suffocating colleague and pleaded, "Naruto, release him. If something happens to him, I'll be held responsible."
Naruto considered her request. Unlike her partner, Yugao wasn't trying to manipulate or threaten him. With a small gesture, the branches receded, and the Anbu collapsed, gasping for air.
Yugao offered a faint smile. "Thank you, Naruto."
Naruto looked away, his voice firm. "Leave. There's nothing more to discuss."
As the Anbu team prepared to depart, Yugao cast one last glance at Naruto. Though her heart ached, she knew his decision was final.
---
Naruto's Resolve
Naruto stood silently, watching the Anbu leave.
Temari approached cautiously. "Are you okay?"
Naruto nodded, his gaze distant. "Yeah."
Temari hesitated. "Why did you let them go so easily?"
Naruto's expression softened. "Not everyone deserves harshness, Temari."
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Naruto's ties to Konoha grew weaker, while his determination to forge his own path solidified.
In the distance, the Akatsuki loomed closer, their eyes set on the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki.
Naruto tightened his fists, the faint hum of chakra resonating in the air. Whatever lay ahead, he would face it on his own terms.
