Chapter 1182: Blackout-2

Five minutes later, Daniel and his team came to the scene and saw the devestating scene. All six intruders were badly injured; the one with the most critical injury was the one that Samuel crushed with his body. Still, they would live from Daniel's initial assessment. Still, he didn't have time to waste on these people. He didn't know if there were more of these people lurking around in the forest, so a massive manhunt was launched encompassing the whole forest to find how they managed to evade the security system. The thermal drones didn't catch anything other than wildlife, but they did get a clear shot of the wolf pack, who seemed to be lurking around the vicinity. They had escaped the sanctuary but were just keeping their distance, like someone had told them to wait there. No one dared to get close to them, as only Samuel seemed to be able to handle them. Daniel also asked them to focus more on finding other intruder rather than dragging their feet worrying about wolves. They wouldn't attack if they didn't disturb them. "What were you guys thinking? How could these people come so close without anyone noticing?" Daniel was furious at his men. "We don't know, sir, but they seem to be wearing some advanced suits, and their weapons also seem special. Not something you would find in the market." "What about Sami and others? Have you seen anyone leave before we came here?" "There was only the movement inside the house. Someone did trip the alarm, but it was most likely young master, Samuel. I have sent some soldiers upstairs to check the rooms. Here they are." A pair of female Ghost soldiers entered the living room, but their faces were a little red. There were half a dozen soldiers with them, and they all had awkward expressions on their faces, like they had something they were not supposed to see. "What's wrong? Did you find something?" Daniel asked, seeing their expressions were a little strange. "No, sir. I don't think they made past the door, but we saw a single footprint that went toward the inner section of the home." "Is anyone awake? Have you checked where Samuel is?" "No, sir; they seemed to be completely out when I called to them. I even nudged them a little...but there was no response." One of the female soldiers answered, trying to maintain a straight face. "Is everyone like that? Did you check all their rooms?" "We didn't have to... Miss Adele, Miss Robyn, Miss Kate, and Miss Bella were on the same bed. Miss Dhia also seemed to be affected, as she was lying nake—I mean, she seemed to have fought for a few minutes before passing out by the look of her room." "Oh. I understand." Daniel knew they couldn't say it because they must have seen Samuel's embarrassing side. With four girls sleeping in his room, anyone could imagine what would be happening inside, while Dhia's room was also a mess, signaling there was something that happened inside too, which only made the whole scenario look bad for Samuel! "Sir, we checked the whole house. We couldn't find young master anywhere." "It's okay. You guys go ahead and take care of these bastards first. Make sure they don't die because we have a lot to ask them. Also do a perimeter search of the whole forest when there is ample light outside for now; I want to know how they got past our sensor and security that we installed a few days ago." Daniel paused, knowing what they were thinking. "Sami, is not normal. He could do things that others wouldn't be able to dream of. I am sure you have seen him demonstrate it plenty of times. But this is not a common case; we have a security breach or someone that is capable of hacking our system so cleanly, I want to find them fast!" Daniel knew it was physically impossible for everyone to hang around in trees acting like monkeys to cross their sensors like Samuel. There was only one way they could have done it: they must have someone capable of hacking or disrupting their security system, which was better than'state-of-the-art' devices available on the market! As for Samuel's location, he knew exactly where he was when his people told them the direction the sole footprint track went. There was only one place he could be in the entire house, which wasn't exactly on the floor plan but he was high enough to know of it's existence. But Samuel did disclose it while treating the injured soldier, so soon it would become known to most people in the estate, but for now, it was a hidden location that only a few people were aware of. Daniel went inside, following the footprint right at the edge of the wall. He had never been inside but knew how to access the network, so he fiddled with some decoration before a small section of the wall moved to reveal the access point. "Scanning...Mr. Daniel Walker. Head of Security. Require a retina scan to proceed further." Daniel did as the pleasant voice told him and moved his face for a scan. The point lit up green, symbolizing that he was recognized. There were many sections of the estate where one would need such identification, but the one installed here seemed to be most advanced as it was capable of conversing with people. "Is Samuel inside?" "Yes, young master is currently busy dealing with a stranger. From the increase pitch and screams, it is determined that he is trying to extract information out of the stranger." "Open the door, I need to get inside." "I am sorry but your access has been revoked by the highest authority." "Who?" "Master Samuel, refrained from being disturbed and asked me to lock the whole facility. It would stay locked until he personally not order me to lift the restriction or open the door from the inside." "As the head of security, I should have the right to overwrite such a command in case of emergency!" "I am sorry. No one could open this door right now. I am assure you, If I feel like his life is threatened, I will alert your intercom immediately." "Elize...forget it." Daniel knew it was not productive to argue with a machine. She was set to follow the rules and even he couldn't do anything if Samuel wanted to be alone even in such strange times. Either way, he was a little relieved that Samuel was doing something that would help with their investigation. How wrong he was would only been known during their next encounter!
